Pop singer Katy Perry and musician John Mayer have gone their separate ways after casually dating for the last couple of months.

“They’ll end up as friends,” a source said of their split. “They were honestly having fun. People made it out to be far more than it was.”

The two were spotted around town together going to dinner and attending parties. One source said they appeared to be comfortable with each other. ”They almost acted like they’ve been a couple for a long time,” the observer said. “It definitely didn’t seem like a new relationship.”
