Rosie O’Donnell secretly married her partner Michelle Rounds during a private ceremony in New York on June 9, her rep has confirmed.

The couple, who announced their engagement at the end of 2011, were originally planning to wed in August, but moved the wedding date up after Rounds was diagnosed with desmoid tumors, a disease that affects three out of every million people.

“They got married but they haven’t had the wedding celebration,” their rep told reporters.

O’Donnell took to her blog to announce the special news to her fans. ”We married in private before [Michelle's] surgery, just the [two] of us,” she wrote. “When we r both well enough will have the wedding of r dreams surrounded by those we cherish.”
