E! host Giuliana Rancic and her husband Bill welcomed a baby boy via a gestational surrogate Wednesday night in Denver, Colorado.

The new addition, named Edward Duke, is the first child for the couple, who chronicled their difficulties conceiving on the reality show Giuliana & Bill. After failed IVF treaments, a miscarriage and a diagnosis with breast cancer, the Rancic’s opted to have a child through a surrogate.

“Bill and I are blessed beyond words to welcome Edward into our lives,” Giuliana, 37, told E!. “Thank you so much to everyone who supported us along the way. We are so in love with the little guy already!”

The couple, who wed in 2007, were present for the delivery, which lasted four hours. Bill was able to cut the umbilical cord and Giuliana was the first to hold her new son. “G and I feel blessed beyond words,” Bill tweeted. “We did it!”
