Oscar-winning actor Russell Crowe, 48, and his wife of nine years, musician Danielle Spencer, have split, according to Australia’s Sydney Morning Herald.

The separation is amicable, the newspaper explained, saying that Spencer has agreed to stay in Sydney with their children Charles, 8, and Tennyson, 6, while Crowe stays in Long Island, New York to film the biblical biopic Noah.

Crowe and Spencer met 22 years ago on the set of the film The Crossing. They married in April 2003 in Australia.
