Comediennes Tina Fey and Amy Poehler have been tapped to host the 2013 Golden Globes.

Just days after Seth McFarlane was named as the host for this year’s Oscars, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association one-upped the Academy by snagging two of the funniest women in the biz to tag team the event.

“The unparalleled comedic timing of Tina and Amy will surely have viewers wanting to tune-in to see them in action,” the HFPA’s president Dr. Aida Takla-O’Reilly said. “The HFPA is thrilled to have the magnetic duo be a part of the show’s 70th anniversary!”

“Having both Tina Fey and Amy Poehler on board to host this year’s festivities is a major coup,” Paul Telegdy, President of NBC Entertainment’s Alternative and Late Night Programming, told reporters. “Tina and Amy have a proven chemistry and comedic timing from their many years together on SNL to their successful co-starring roles in Baby Mama.”
