Joe and Tina Simpson, parents to daughters Jessica and Ashlee Simpson, have announced they are going their separate ways. This news comes one day after the National Enquirer reported that Joe had come out to his family.

A rep for the family dismissed the rumors with a statement. ”It is an amicable split and there is no third party involved,” the rep said. “Any other related allegations are completely false. The family appreciates your respect for their privacy at this time.”

The pair, who were married for 35 years, have listed their Encino, Calif. estate for sale for $3.4 million.  Tina filed the papers for the divorce on Sept. 24 in McLennan County, Texas.

None of the Simpsons have made comment since the news broke.
