* JESSICA SIMPSON’S MUM FILES FOR DIVORCE
Singer JESSICA SIMPSON’s mother has filed for divorce.
Tina Simpson is keen to end her 34-year marriage to the pop star-turned-fashion designer’s dad Joe by filing legal papers in McLennan County, Texas on 24 September (12) – just one month after her husband was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving.
She cited “discord or conflict of personalities” as the reason for their split.
A family representative tells GossipCop.com, “It is an amicable split and there is no third party involved. Any other related allegations are completely false. The family appreciates your respect for their privacy at this time.”
Former minister Joe Simpson, who was taken into custody in Los Angeles on 4 August (12), pleaded not guilty to driving under the influence (DUI) last month (Sep12). If convicted, he faces up to a year behind bars. (MC/WNWCZM&WNWCGC/KL)
