Olympic soccer player Hope Solo‘s fiance, former NFL player Jerramy Stevens, was arrested Monday for allegedly assaulting her. But here’s the twist: Solo had intended on holding a secret wedding ceremony with her beau of two months Tuesday.

Police responded to a disturbance at a private home in Kirkland, Wash. early Monday morning, after a several partygoers from the night before had been injured. After investigating, Stevens was arrested under suspicion of fourth-degree assault. “He was discovered “hiding” upstairs in the home, with dried blood on his shirt and signs of a fight around him,” according to UsMagazine.

Stevens appeared in court on Tuesday, along with Solo, who didn’t speak to reporters, and all charges were dropped. The two had applied for a marriage license on Nov. 8.

I’m gonna suggest some couple’s therapy and a bit more of an engagement….
