The Jenner home in Calabasas, Calif. was surrounded by a SWAT team comprised of 15 policemen with machine guns on Friday afternoon after 911 received a call from an unidentified woman claiming there was a shooting in the home.
“It came out as a very serious call of possibly someone shot inside the home out here in the Hidden Hills area,â€Â Stu Mundel of CBS2 reported. “The Malibu sheriff’s’ took this very very seriously as they do any call of that type of caliber and they came out here in force.”
Police arrived in “force” at the mansion, which is frequently featured on their reality show Keeping Up With the Kardashians, and ordered Bruce, Kris, Kendall and Kylie out of the home while it was searched for the 911 caller, who claimed she was hiding in a closet in the home.
After the home was searched, the family was allowed inside. It was clear they had been the latest victims of “swatting” : ”a fast-growing phenomenon masterminded by anonymous mischief-makers who alert police to a bogus crime situation, prompting a tactical response — sometimes by SWAT officers — that involves a high-risk search for phantom assailants.”
