Olympic Medalist Michelle Kwan Marries Clay Pell
Olympic medalist figure skater Michelle Kwan married Coast Guard Lt. Clay Pell, the grandson of late U.S. Sen. Claiborne Pell, in Providence, Rhode Island on Saturday.
Kwan, who is a public policy envoy for the Department of State, said “I do” to Pell at the First Unitarian Church. There were 250 guests in attendance, including Gov. Lincoln Chafee and his wife.
The figure skating Olympian is the most decorated skater in American history. Kwan has won 43 championships, including the silver medal at the 1998 Winter Olympics and bronze at the 2002 Games.
