Anne Hathaway Apologizes for Oscar Dress
Anne Hathaway created a controversy Sunday night at the Academy Awards when she walked on the red carpet in a pale pink Prada dress that showed off her….well, nipples.
Now, the Best Supporting Actress winner is apologizing for changing her mind at the last minute and wearing the Prada dress in place of her planned Valentino design.
“It came to my attention late Saturday night that there would be a dress worn to the Oscars that is remarkably similar to the Valentino I had intended to wear, and so I decided it was best for all involved to change my plans,” she told PEOPLE in a statement.
Hathaway, 30, wore Valentino for her wedding to Adam Shulman in September 2012.

“Though I love the dress I did wear, it was a difficult last minute decision as I had so looked forward to wearing Valentino in honor of the deep and meaningful relationship I have enjoyed with the house and with Valentino himself,” Hathaway continued.
“I deeply regret any disappointment caused.”
I didn’t hate her dress. And honestly people, those weren’t her nipples. But now that I’m seeing the Valentino, I would’ve loved to see that on her instead.
