A judge decided Friday that Amanda Bynes‘ mother, Lynn Bynes, will be granted legal control over her daughter until her mental health improves.
It was revealed in the Ventura, Calif., courtroom that Bynes, who has been hospitalized for the last 17 days, is now under a 30-day psychiatric hold as ordered by her doctor.
Judge Glen M. Reiser agreed with Bynes’ doctor’s finding “of her lack of capacity to give consent for medical care,” and approved to grant her mother temporary conservatorship over her legal matters and finances.
Bynes did not attend the hearing, but her court-appointed attorney Mary Shea said that the actress does ”oppose and object [to the conservatorship]. She doesn’t feel there’s a need.”
The conservatorship will remain in place until Sept. 30.
