NBC has confirmed that supermodel Heidi Klum is joining America’s Got Talent as the first-ever fourth judge.

Klum, who is the host of the Lifetime show Project Runway, will join another newcomer to the show, Spice Girl Mel B, along with Howie Mandel and Howard Stern.

“Heidi has an amazing career across multiple media platforms, and has built a brand that is a force in the entertainment business,” Paul Telegdy, President of Alternative and Late Night Programming at NBC, said in a statement. ”She has achieved superstardom while balancing being a businesswoman and hard-working mom, bringing a huge amount of experience, discernment and taste to the panel. As we look to develop an act that will get the world’s attention, we and the contestants will benefit from Heidi’s international sensibility and understanding of what works in today’s global entertainment industry.”

“America’s Got some serious Talent!” Klum said about joining the reality competition. “I’m really excited to join the panel of AGT to see it all — from the ridiculous to the fantastic! I love the surprise element of the show and not knowing what we’ll see next and who will wow us. The 21 year-old daughter of Olympic champions Al Joyner and Florence Griffith, Mary Joyner, impressed the judges with her voice in a rendition of “Gravity” by Sara Bareilles during the auditions for America’s Got Talent on Monday (June 18)- watch video below.

Instead of becoming a track and field star like her parents, Mary dreams of being a singer. Surprisingly, she was not bad at it and managed to quickly establish a connection with the audience. Howie Mandell proclaimed he just fell in love with her, while Howard Stern told her she had him in 30 seconds.

Radio and TV personality Howard Stern has officially joined “America’s Got Talent” as a jugde, replacing CNN host Piers Morgan in the upcoming season of the NBC’s hit talent show.

AGT producers allegedly wanted the King Of All Media to join their team so badly that they decided to move the whole show to New York City to allow Howard to continue working on his radio show.

I cannot wait to see just how far Howard will go with his critics. Fellow judge Howie Mandel, who replaced David Hasselhoff last year, is also excited to welcome his new controversial colleague.

Mandel told TMZ, “I couldn’t be happier. As my Mom always says, you can never have enough Howies.”

And guess who’s not happy with Howard’s new gig? The Parents Television Council claim primetime TV is no place for a guy like Howard Stern, “a performer who is synonymous with shock, profanity and obscenity.”

Oh, please! I’m positive Howard knows how to tame it down and become more appropriate for primetime TV. The guy is controversial, but not stupid.

Morgan has served as a judge on the show for five years. He currently sits on the judges panel with Sharon Osbourne and Howie Mandel. (Three people who have no business judging a TALENT competition.)

At the beginning of the night, Ryan Seacrest announced they received 122 million votes, which would have not been possible with the brand new online voting system. When Ryan finally asked to dim the lights to announce the winner, both Scotty and Lauren Alaina seemed pretty calm. They reacted naturally when Ryan said Scotty became the new American Idol.

Scotty was forced to perform his coronation song “Love You This Big” – he hugged everybody, said he loved everybody and ate some confetti!

“America’s Got Talent” contestant Joe Finley reported his wife Laura Finley missing right before he auditioned and her body was later found in a stairwell at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in downtown Los Angeles on Saturday (October 24).

Joe, who was arrested for drug possession (ecstasy) on the same day his wife was found dead, is currently being considered a “person of interest” in her mysterious death. There is no information about the circumstance of Laura’s tragic death.

A rep for Fremantle, the production company behind “America’s Got Talent,” tells TMZ, “We are fully cooperating with authorities to investigate this very unfortunate situation and have no further comment at this time.”

The contestant apparently had three pills of ecstasy when the cops interrogated him about his wife’s death. Joe was promptly arrested and released on $10,000 bail on Sunday morning.

Michael Grimm, the 30 year-old whose dream was to be able to help his grandparents after they lost everything to Hurricane Katrina, was named the winner of America’s Got Talent Season 5, after beating the favorite, Jackie Evancho, the 10 year-old opera singer, who ended in a respectful second place.

The finalists were given the opportunity to sing with one of their idols. Former Velvet Underground musician Lou Reed reportedly personally blocked Susan Boyle by not giving her a chance to perform one of his hit songs, “Perfect Day”, on “America’s Got Talent” this week. Susan was “absolutely devastated” and returned home immediately after pulling out of the show.

Susan’s manager wrote an email to Freemantle Media explaining the situation: “Susan was absolutely devastated to be told on the morning of the show taping that Lou Reed had personally decided to block her singing his already much covered song, ‘Perfect Day,’ on ‘America’s Got Talent’ in L.A..”

The email continues, “We obviously had no idea of this prior to leaving London. None of us can understand the decision given that it’s such a beautiful rendition of the song.”

Susan reportedly returned home in tears after being snubbed by Lou Reed. The YouTube sensation only learned she was not allowed to sing “Perfect Day” a couple of hours before recording. She was unprepared and had “no other new song rehearsed.”

Lou Reed’s rep apparently denied having reject Susan, but we think this situation is unacceptable. It doesn’t matter how good or not good Susan is and what she could do with the song. Music is made to be played, sang and heard… if it isn’t, what’s the point?
