Bill Gates joining Twitter (@BillGates) yesterday was the ‘BIG’ geek-tech news yesterday.  Already in less than 24 hours the Microsoft co-founder has over 190,000 followers.

I found it funny that Mr. Nerd is following 40 people and one of them is High School Musical star Ashley Tisdale.

So in between Bill following Microsoft, Carnegie Foundation, World Food Prize, President Obama, TED and the New York Times was Miss Tisdale.

Another interesting note from Mr. Gates first day on Twitter was that he Tweeted five Tweets and one was a big thanks to Ashton Kutcher (@aplusk), who is an unabashed Apple lover.  Come on Bill, a little PC love would have been nice.

Bill was also generous in thanking Ryan Seacrest (@ryanseacrest) for his work on Larry King Live raising donations for Haiti.

Actress Ashley Tisdale is clearly trying to distance herself from her blonde bombshell “High School Musical” look. She went brunette and got a new hairstyle but she still manages to look wonderful even in her day-to-day life. I love the way she mixes clothes and puts some high heels and is ready to go. High School Musical star Ashley Tisdale is the new hot cover girl for Shape Magazine. Last month Debra Messing was glad to have her body back after 3 years of giving birth, this month’s cover features a teen star.

Ashley confesses she never had any weight issues but she has found out that being motivated by her personal trainer and friend Christopher Hebert has led her to get on a more healthy diet with no sacrifices.

Here are some highlights from Ashley Tisdale’s Shape Magazine interview:

On always being petite: “I was always super thin — too skinny, actually. I felt like someone could break me in half.”

On her big motivator, personal trainer Christopher Hebert: “He’s cute, which makes it fun, and he never lets our exercise session get boring.”

On her guilty pleasure foods: “I love carbs. Bread, corn bread, french fries—all that stuff.”

On eating healthy: “I’ve found I’m definitely eating better since I started working out more rigorously. It kind of happened naturally. I don’t really crave junk food that often now.”
