Connecticut elementary teacher Marie Jarry was fired from her teaching job after her and her rotund husband competed in a contest on The Howard Stern Show in which a photo of her in a bikini appeared on Stern’s website.

Last week, The Howard Stern Show held an “Ugliest Guy, Hottest Wife” contest in which three couples competed for a $5,000 prize. Connecticut school teacher Marie Jarry (and her worse half) took home the loot, only days later to find herself fired from her job after a picture of her in a bikini (above) was posted on Stern’s website.

“Because of the nature of the show, the board was concerned,” said one parent of a Thalberg Elementary student.

I have to agree with the school board on this one. It might be different if she was a high school or college teacher. That toppled with the fact that it was Howard Stern’s show is probably enough to can her. It is easier to fire her than deal with the uproar at the PTA meeting.

The View’s Elisabeth Hasselbeck shows off her post-pregnancy bikini body on the cover of the new Fitness magazine and photo spread within the pages.  E-Beth trained especially hard just for the cover shoot.

“Body image has nothing to do with scale numbers, it’s how you feel inside,” Hasselbeck, who turns 31 this month, told Fitness magazine. “This is the first time I’ve felt free from that, because I am working out in a way where I feel so strong that there’s no room for those doubts.”

She adds: “I finally told myself … ‘I’ve got some curves, I’ve got a bubble butt, but I don’t mind, because it’s what powers me forward when I run.’ “

Florida high school science teacher Tiffany Shepherd has been fired from her job after it became known that she had taken a second job as a bikini mate aboard a local fishing charter.

Earlier this month, the buxom blond took a job working for Gil Coombes and his wife, Kat, as a part of their charter fishing boat operation, Smokin’ Em Charters. She was one of a handful of attractive women hired to roll out a new business concept combining fishing with bikini-clad, and sometimes topless, female mates.

“I wasn’t making enough money,” Shepherd, a Florida native and self-described lifelong angler, told ABC News. “This was perfect because I could get paid to fish. It was easy money. In two days fishing, I make more that I do in a week teaching.”

I am sure many of her students were very hot for teacher!

On being the mischievous narrator of the CW’s “Gossip Girl”:

“I channel that voice everybody’s had in their head since grade school. It’s the critical voice that pops up when you see somebody who’s wearing mom jeans, you know what I mean? “Sarah was written in a beautiful way: She’s not just the antagonist or the victim. Typically in romantic comedies one person is demonized the other isn’t. But this is like Knocked Up; all the lines are blurred. Nobody’s really at fault and that’s how reality is. Sarah is probably 25 percent bitch, 25 percent airhead, and 50 percent real.”

On dating Dax Shepard and dealing with the paparazzi:

“It amplifies the feeling that everything I do is looked at, and it makes me hyper-aware and insecure. You’re on display when you really don’t want to be. That’s why I’ve become more reclusive. At my house with my friends, I don’t need to deal with that stuff.”

“…I really like [the video game] Mario Kart, and I have to remind myself, ‘You are in real traffic!’ It’s scary because the photographers run red lights. So by making them chase me, I could cause an accident, and nothing is worth risking that. I could complain about this all day, but everybody’s job has downfalls. Some people are in an office and their butts fall asleep in their chairs; this is just what I have to deal with.”

On her personal security and living a low-key life:

“I’m more of a homebody. I’m constantly asked: ‘Why don’t we see you out?’ But that’s not what drives me. I prefer to have people over–which I do a lot…”

“I’m not going to become anybody I don’t want to become. But I’ve been followed by photographers a lot lately, and it makes me insecure.”

PEOPLE is reporting that tennis hunk Andy Roddick and bikini model Brooklyn Decker are engaged to wed.  Decker is a model who has appeared in Sports Illustrated’s famous Swimsuit Issue.

On Roddick’s official Web site, andyroddick.com, a statement tells fans, “The couple wanted to tell their family and close friends first but good news travels fast. By the time Andy arrived in Miami for the Sony Ericsson Open, the tournament was bustling with the news.”

Congrats to the happy couple.  Now maybe Andy will be less distracted and might possibly win something important at some point.

Florida high school History teacher Erica Chevillar made headlines a few years ago when she posed for the USA National Bikini team.  Several parents in her school district complained but the school board decided she had not done anything illegal or unethical.

Supermodel Petra Nemcova, actresses Rosario Dawson and Anne Hathaway are opening up to PEOPLE magazine about the controversy Jennifer Love Hewitt started with her MySpace blog in response to photographs taken of Hewitt in a black bikini while vacationing in Hawaii.

• Model Petra Nemcova: “There are different angles that everybody, even if you’re in great shape, can look bad in a photograph. And printing these images is definitely influencing people’s minds – the stars themselves, but also the people who are reading and looking at the images, the teenagers. It’s definitely good that she spoke out.”

• Rosario Dawson: “They’ll make a whole story about it if someone gains 5 lbs. … It think there is a huge obsession with size-zero jeans, and it’s just really scary. I don’t really know where that comes from. We’re not really in the Twiggy era anymore. It makes me really nervous, because I don’t know how in the world we’re supposed to be that thin unless we’re totally starving and drugging up.”

• Anne Hathaway: “[As an actress], most of the year, your body is your own. But to be ridiculed for it is upsetting. But to also have to defend it or explain it or rejoice in it or put it down, or to be expected to have a public opinion about it … I don’t understand when that happened. I don’t think women should only be defined by their bodies and their weight. It’s a cycle we’ve been in for some time, and I don’t really like it.”

Petra you didn’t really go to bat for JLH. You sort of skirted the issue and said everyone can take a bad photo. Rosario and Anne, way to go to bat for your homegirl.  Personally I don’t think the photos were her best but they weren’t horrible either.  In direct sunlight the camera can be a mean beast.
