Horror flick Evil Dead was the top movie at the box office this past weekend.  It’s strong debut was enough to knock G.I. Joe: Retaliation out of the top spot. Third place went to animated flick The Croods.

Zero Dark Thirty Claims Weekend Box Office Top Spot

The new film about the killing of Osama Bin Laden titled Zero Dark Thirty raked in $24 million this weekend to be the most popular film at the box office.

Animated movie Wreck-It Ralph, that takes place inside video games, won the weekend in box office, knocking off Argo along the way.

Flight, the new Denzel Washington film, opened in second place knocking Argo to third.

It came down to a virtual tie between new films End of Watch and House at the End of the Street for the weekend box office crown. The tiebreaker went to End of Watch since it made the same amount of money on fewer screens.
