Britney Spears showed off her new brunette locks on the red carpet at Elton John‘s annual AIDS Foundation Academy Awards viewing party at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood on Sunday night.

The 31-year-old pop star wore a black Michael Cinco Couture dress with De Grisogono jewelry and Saint Laurent shoes. Her date for the evening was her longtime manager Larry Rudolph.

Britney Spears‘ manager Larry Rudolph has confirmed that the pop singer has agreed to a Las Vegas residency.

Spears, who is rumored to be signed on with Caesar’s Entertainment Group, is reportedly deciding between two casinos. She’s expected to make a decision and announcement in the coming weeks.

Rumors circulated in January that Spears had signed a $100 million contract to perform shows at the Caesar’s Palace Colosseum, but the singer denied the reports. Celine Dion, Sir Elton John and Shania Twain currently have residencies at the Colosseum.

Britney Spears and her fiance Jason Trawick have announced their splitting up after being engaged for a year.

Spears and Trawick, who have dated since 2009, announced their split in a joint statement released by the pop singer’s rep: ”Jason and I have decided to call off our engagement,” Spears says in the statement. “I’ll always adore him and we will remain great friends.”

Trawick added: “As this chapter ends for us a new one begins. I love and cherish her and her boys and we will be close forever.”

The attorney for Sam Lutfi, who was once upon a time the manager for Britney Spears when the singer was at her most desperate low, is claiming that Lutfi had drug dogs come in to search her house and that a substance was found in Spears’ possession that was probably “crystal meth.”

Lutfi’s attorney Joseph Schleimer dropped this bombshell on the jury in Lutfi’s trail against Spears’ mom Lynne Spears for making claims in her autobiography, “Through the Storm: A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World,” that Lutfi drugged Britney and kept her isolated and away from everyone.

“My client was made a scapegoat for drug abuse and erratic behavior of Britney Spears,” Schleimer told the jury, most of whom knew of the singer but hadn’t followed her career or personal troubles.

Schleimer claimed Spears favored amphetamines and that the dogs turned up a substance the Grammy-winner told Lutfi was probably crystal meth.

Lutfi is also suing for monies he believes he is entitled to from an agreement he signed with Spears that would give him 15% of her earnings as her manager.

The shock claims didn’t stop there as Schleimer went on to state that Spears overdosed while Lutfi was in charge of her career:

“He was terrified of being her manager when she overdosed,” Schleimer said.

I bet Lynne thought she finally had this weasel out of her life.  Lutfi might get a judgment for some of the money he claims he is owed under the manger contract, but I don’t see his libel claims against Lynne going anywhere as they’ll be extremely hard to prove.

One report claims that Britney shaved her head during that chaotic period of her life to hide drug evidence.

The contestant, Don Phillip, who collaborated on “I Will Still Love You” for Brit’s “Baby One More Time” album, confessed that he is gay and has been struggling for these past years. Britney was nothing but supportive. Despite being shaken by his confession, Brit managed to remain calm and professional.

“At the time I didn’t think I was worthy,” Don told Britney. “I didn’t think you thought it was okay that I am gay.”

“I think it is fine you are gay,” she said.

“When he started crying and saying he thought he’d never see her again and that he’d had a lot to deal with, Britney was comforting him to calm him,” the source says.

“She’s been through a lot in those 10 years, too, so it must have been a shock for her to see him,” the source says. “You could tell she was emotional and she really felt for him especially when he was crying, but she also stayed calm.”

When presented with a challenge, Britney apparently handled it like a pro, delivering a straightforward critique of the contestant’s performance (video at 1:35 mark). Who knew Brit could actually handle a situation like this without breaking down in front of the live audience?

Britney told Don, “Through the years, maybe you’ve gone through a lot of hardships and battles, and I think you’ve gone through that more than training on your voice, because your voice really isn’t up to the bar of the standards of ‘The X Factor’ and what we want.”

At the end of the day, Don was sent home, but he took Brit’s comments well, even proclaiming his love to the “Oops! I Did It Again” singer. It was a sweet moment. There’s no doubt we can expect to see that in the second season of FOX’s talent show this fall.

So why is Britney constantly walking off The X Factor auditions? Apparently, the “Toxic” singer suffers from Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD), which translates into an overall restlessness, poor sustained attention and impaired impulse control.

Britney is currently not taking medication for ADHD because it interferes with other medication, so her routine and diet are being closely monitored to assure she is in the best shape possible for the job. And of course, Simon knew about Britney’s mental health issues before she signed the contract.

“Britney was diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder in her teens and used to take medication for it,” a source close to the situation tells RadarOnline exclusively. “The medication helped her deal with it, however, she can’t take it now because it interferes with the other medications she takes for her mental health issues. Britney’s current team of doctors strictly prohibit her from taking Adderall or Ritalin, which are commonly given to people with ADHD.

“Simon was made fully aware of Britney’s medical history before the contract was signed, so this certainly isn’t a big surprise that she needs to take breaks during the audition process. Look, Britney basically has the attention span of a 10-year-old at times. It’s not alarming to Simon at all and he is fully supportive of Britney doing whatever she needs to do during filming.”

“Britney’s medical team works with her to deal with her disorder without medication and daily vigorous exercise is what often works best for Britney. Her nutrition is closely monitored and so is her caffeine intake, because that can also enhance Britney’s inability to focus.

“Simon knew what he was dealing with before he ever signed her to join the show and it’s not shocking to him. Of course, it’s rather disconcerting for people that see her do it for the first time but it’s truly nothing to be alarmed at. In fact, Simon would have been surprised if she hadn’t taken breaks during judging last week, this means she is involved and engaged in the process,” the insider says.

Oh. No. This is not good news. Who can guarantee that Britney can go through the live shows without breaking or having a meltdown on national TV? Is it healthy for Britney to be under that much pressure?

How dare someone butcher such a pivotal piece of musical artistry!? Britney was downright upset. She just couldn’t take it anymore, so she left her chair at the judges’ panel, while contestants continued to audition in front of the three remaining judges – Simon Cowell, Demi Lovato and L.A. Reid.

A source told TMZ, the report is ludicrous because Britney simply went backstage to take a short break. And this is normal procedure. The judges are allowed to leave to talk short breaks throughout the day, so Britney was definitely not upset at all.

“The X Factor” season 2 auditions kicked off in Texas on Thursday (May 24).

It’s OFFICIAL! Britney Spears and Demi Lovato were announced as the other half of the judges’ panel, joining L.A. Reid and Simon Cowell for the second season of The X Factor US at FOX’s Upfront in New York City on Monday (May 14).

Simon tweeted the first picture of the X judges with the caption, “Can’t believe it’s finally happened. Very exciting!” Exciting indeed. We cannot wait to see what happens with Britney in front of the camera live on national television!

Brit’s dad Jamie Spears and fiancé Jason Trawick signed the $15 million deal for one season on the troubled pop star’s behalf. However, unlike Demi who was all smiles, Britney actually looked extremely nervous when she spoke.

Britney said: “I am so excited about this whole experience. It’s gonna be so much fun and so different from anything I’ve ever done and I’m ready to find the true star.”

Let’s just say The X Factor got a lot more interesting. How will Britney deal with the pressure? Will she be a good judge/mentor?

Simon Cowell must be over the moon with the prospect of finally introducing Demi Lovato and troubled pop princess Britney Spears as the new judges for the second season of “The X Factor.”

Demi has reportedly already signed on the dotted line. And according to TMZ, Britney’s father Jamie Spears and her fiancé Jason Trawick, who is now her co-conservator, have finally signed the $15 million deal for Britney to sit on the judges’ table for a whole season of the talent show.

Britney and her team are currently staying at the Mandarin Oriental hotel in NYC as the “Whoops! I Did It Again” singer is expected to attend FOX’s Upfronts today (Monday, May 14).
