It’s OFFICIAL! Britney Spears and Demi Lovato were announced as the other half of the judges’ panel, joining L.A. Reid and Simon Cowell for the second season of The X Factor US at FOX’s Upfront in New York City on Monday (May 14).

Simon tweeted the first picture of the X judges with the caption, “Can’t believe it’s finally happened. Very exciting!” Exciting indeed. We cannot wait to see what happens with Britney in front of the camera live on national television!

Brit’s dad Jamie Spears and fiancé Jason Trawick signed the $15 million deal for one season on the troubled pop star’s behalf. However, unlike Demi who was all smiles, Britney actually looked extremely nervous when she spoke.

Britney said: “I am so excited about this whole experience. It’s gonna be so much fun and so different from anything I’ve ever done and I’m ready to find the true star.”

Let’s just say The X Factor got a lot more interesting. How will Britney deal with the pressure? Will she be a good judge/mentor?

Simon Cowell must be over the moon with the prospect of finally introducing Demi Lovato and troubled pop princess Britney Spears as the new judges for the second season of “The X Factor.”

Demi has reportedly already signed on the dotted line. And according to TMZ, Britney’s father Jamie Spears and her fiancé Jason Trawick, who is now her co-conservator, have finally signed the $15 million deal for Britney to sit on the judges’ table for a whole season of the talent show.

Britney and her team are currently staying at the Mandarin Oriental hotel in NYC as the “Whoops! I Did It Again” singer is expected to attend FOX’s Upfronts today (Monday, May 14).

“Jamie’s (Spears’ father) thrilled,” his attorney Geraldine Wyle told reporters following the hearing. “It’s all in the family.” Wyle also confirmed that Britney made the request for Trawick to be co-conservator herself .

Jamie has held legal control over Britney and her finances since Feb. 2008 when she suffered a psychological breakdown.

According to PEOPLE, “Conservators typically have legal authority over a person’s general well-being, which includes decisions about food, clothing and medical care.”

Who would you like to see on The X Factor? I’d say bring Cheryl Cole back, but after last year’s fiasco I doubt she would ever consider accepting another offer from Cowell.

Neil Lane said, “She’s his everyday princess. Jason is a romantic and when I asked him to tell me about Britney and what the ring would represent to them so I could find inspiration, his response was always the same — she is his princess!”

“Jason didn’t want an over-the-top ring with a giant stone,” he adds.

“He’s deeply in love with her. Britney is his princess and he is her knight in shining armor,” he says. “Jason’s protective of her. He adores her. Every good fairytale needs a princess, and now Britney has a ring fit for a princess!”

Britney is living the perfect fairytale. Jason and the jeweler had been working together to create the ultimate engagement ring over the last month, but he only saw the ring when he picked it up a week ago. And he loved it.
