The death certificate of actress Brittany Murphy, who tragically passed away at the age of 32 back in 2009, has been changed to include the name of her father, Angelo Bertolotti, in the box that read “Unknown.”

Sharon Murphy is planning to release a tell-all book as a tribute to her daughter — the late Brittany Murphy — who died from pneumonia last December at the age of 32.

Sharon unveiled her plans in a statement today, November 10, 2010, which would have been Brittany’s 33rd birthday:

“This book will be my way of celebrating and honouring her extraordinary life and career. Brittany was a kind, loving person who enjoyed each day; she was my life. I am looking forward to everyone reading the accurate account about my daughter, her life, loves and career.”

Notice that she made sure to say accurate account in order to squash disgusting rumors about a fling between her and Brittany’s husband Simon Monjack, as well as rumors about the cause of Brittany’s death being drug overdose. I think this will be a good way to honor her daughter — from someone who knew her best. And, some of the proceeds from book sales will go to charity.

The official report does not suggest there was sexual contact or a sexual relationship between Sharon and her son-in-law, but the fact they shared a bed after her daughter’s and his wife’s tragic death is kind of disturbing.

A cause of death hasn’t been revealed yet and the police is currently investigating the case. Simon had been accused of trying to cash in on his wife’s death with a charity in her name, which he quickly dissolved after admitting he hadn’t registered it as a charity. People pointed fingers way too easily when it was clear Simon was suffering immensely with Brittany’s death.

The question seems to be whether he committed suicide or had a heart attack. There were no illegal drugs, but there were a lot of prescription drugs found in the house. The similarities between Brittany and Simon’s deaths are remarkable. Brittany had also been found unconscious by her mother Sharon in the bathroom of the master bedroom in that same house only 5 months and 3 days ago.

The authorities said there was no sign of suicide or foul play. So basically Simon must have died of natural causes after having a cardiac arrest just like his wife Brittany. Simon most probably died of a broken heart. Sometimes the loss, grief and emotional pain are so intense that the body just can’t take it.

The L.A. Times is reporting that screenwriter Simon Monjack, the husband of the late Brittany Murphy, was found dead at his Los Angeles home at Rising Glen Road on Sunday night.

At 9:24 p.m. Sunday, the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a 911 call for an “unspecified medical aid request,” according to spokesman Brian Humphrey. Fire Department personnel provided medical services to Monjack, and he was pronounced dead, according to a Los Angeles police sergeant, who declined to give his name, at the Hollywood Station late Sunday night. The sergeant said detectives were arriving at the home.
