Country legend George Jones died Friday morning in Nashville, Tenn., at the age of 81, according to his rep.

His publicist Kirt Webster told reporters Jones died Friday at Vanderbilt University Medical Center after he was hospitalized with fever and irregular blood pressure.

Jones, who recorded over 150 albums during his career, is survived by his wife of 30 years Nancy Jones, his sister Helen Scroggins, and by his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

RIP, “Possum.”

While Blake explained why he decided to write this song and prove once again his father was right, Miranda couldn’t contain the tears. It was an emotional moment for the couple who basically dominated this year’s CMA Awards and took home the most important awards of the night.

Blake explained: “I lost my brother in a car wreck when I was 14-years-old. When I decided I wanted to be a country singer, my dad always told me, ‘Son, you should write a song about your brother.’ I lost my dad in January, and it’s so amazing to me that tonight even after he’s gone, he’s still right. I just needed the right person to write this song with and the right person to sing it.”

Miranda added, “Thank you, Blake, for allowing me to sing this beautiful song and write it with you. Thank you CMA and all of our peers for voting for us. It’s really emotional. We love y’all.”

Country star Jake Owen is now officially engaged to his girlfriend Lacey Buchanan after going down on one knee to propose during a performance at the Citrus Bowl in front of family and friends in his hometown of Vero Beach, Florida on Saturday night (April 7)- watch video below.

The 30 year-old brought Lacey on stage as he performed “Don’t Think I Can’t Love You” to surprise her and the audience with a ring-less yet super romantic impromptu proposal.

“You’re probably wondering where your ring is, right?” Referencing the lyrics of the song, he added: “I just said I can’t buy you a big diamond ring or a big old house on the hill, but I promise you I’ll love you forever and ever and ever.”

The two hugged and kissed while the audience cheered. Later, the country singer took to his Twitter to reveal he is a very happily engaged man. “I’m a happy man. Life is complete,” he wrote.

I’m going to auction off those shoes and get rid of them as soon as I can! I never want to see those shoes again… Or maybe I’ll keep them as a souvenir…”
