The final three couples, Donald and Peta, Katherine Jenkins and Mark Ballas, and William Levy and Cheryl Burke, were forced to perform one last time for the judges’ scores, but they only had less than 24 hours to put this dance together yet all got perfect scores for their efforts.

Former Dancing With The Stars contestants return to the dance floor, and finally Tom Bergeron announced the winner. Actor William Levy landed in third place after complaining about the judges’ evaluation of his freestyle performance, while singer Katherine Jenkins finished in a respectable second place.

Who will win the coveted mirror ball trophy? At this point in the competition anything can happen. I wouldn’t count William and Cheryl Burke out just yet, but I think the real battle will be between Katherine and Mark Ballas, and Donald and Peta Murgatroyd.

Only one point separates Katherine from the other two contestants, but she has been delivering very solid performances throughout the whole season. On the other hand, William showed the biggest improvement in 10 weeks. And Donald proved he is a great dancer/performer by clearly winning the freestyle round.

William apparently thought their Latin-inspired performance did not deserve the 9 Len gave them for technique and effort. The celebrity dancer is a little presumptuous to state he deserved the 10, and his partner supported him.

“The 9 was more predictable than anything,” William told us. “I don’t know how Len could judge so hard on our freestyle.”

Cheryl added that she knew from the look on his face that Len was going to say something negative, but it isn’t tarnishing their pride in all their extensive leg work this season.”

“We’ve been working and giving everything we have,” Cheryl said. “We already feel like winners.”

Seriously? Fair play, have you ever heard of it? Unless William and Cheryl are trying to accuse judge Len Goodman of some sort of favoritism, they should have just kept their mouth shut.

If you are really that good, prove it on the dance floor. In my humble opinion, although William and Cheryl delivered good performances, Katherine Jenkins and Donald Driver owned the night.

Donald brought Cowboy Troy to perform the country hit “I Play Chicken With The Train” as a good luck charm. That was the most incredible, fun, amazing performance of the night. Donald pulled the ace right when he needed it to earn his first perfect score of the season.

At the end of their performance, judge Carrie Ann Inaba was standing on top of the judges’ table, claiming that was by far her favorite dance of the night. Bruno Tonioli, who cannot resist a ride into the Wild Wild West, called it a “country-inspired triumph.”

Could Donald Driver have won this season of Dancing With The Stars with this freestyle? The winner of the fourteenth season of the show will be announced during a special live results show on Tuesday (May 22).

Everybody knows the freestyle can dictate who wins the mirror ball trophy.

At the end of the night, Katherine led the pack with two perfect scores, but both William and Donald are only one single point behind her. The first redemption round was clearly won by the operatic pop singer, while Donald owned the dance floor with his countrified freestyle.

Who will be fighting on the dance floor for the coveted Dancing With The Stars season 14 mirror ball trophy? The three finalists, Katherine Jenkins, William Levy and Donald Driver, were revealed after the shocking elimination of the frontrunner Maria Menounos during the live results show on Tuesday (May 15).

The Extra host was the first to achieve a perfect score this season, but even her high scores weren’t enough to save her after the nationwide vote put her in jeopardy with Donald Driver this week. Katherine and Mark Ballas, and William and his partner Cheryl Burke were the first to secure their place in the finals.

With the lowest combined scores (viewers’ votes and judges’ scores), Maria and her partner Derek Hough were forced to say goodbye to the competition. Shocking! I seriously thought Maria would really take the DWTS trophy home next week.

After being eliminated, Maria confessed she was happy with her DWTS journey and thanked her partner, crediting Derek for taking her this far in the competition. Derek also showed nothing but love for his partner, calling her a true champion.

“I learned so many things,” Menounos said of her time on the show. “I learned how strong I was. I learned to persevere. We didn’t know our dances yesterday until we got on the floor.”

“I love, love, love dancing with this person,” her partner said. “Not just dancing with her, but just her as a person.”

Derek added, “I loved loved loved dancing with this woman. She’s not just a champion of dancing, she’s a champion of life.”

As for Katherine’s back injury, she said she is will suffer through some pain and be ready to dance it off for that trophy. With Maria out of the way, I’d say Katherine’s chances at winning that trophy greatly increased, but I wouldn’t count Donald or William out just yet.
