Emmy-winning actress Kathryn Joosten, best known for playing Karen McCluskey on “Desperate Housewives,” has sadly passed away after losing a long battle against lung cancer at her home in Westlake Village, California on Saturday (June 2).

The 72 year-old was surrounded by family and friends at the time of her death. The actress’ rep, Nadine Jolson, released the following statement on behalf of the family:

“The family of Kathryn Joosten, two-time Emmy winner, longtime Governor of The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, lung cancer advocate, and so much more, regrets to announce that Kathryn succumbed to her 11-year battle with lung cancer today, June 2, 2012, surrounded by love and humor til the end. Thanks to everyone for their love and support. We are laughing through our tears. We love you, Kathy, thanks for everything.”

Kathryn won two Emmys (2005 and 2008) for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy for her role as the nosey neighbor on “Desperate Housewives.” She was also known for playing the President’s secretary Dolores Landingham in “The West Wing.”

Desperate Housewives creator, Marc Cherry, remembered the actress in a statement:

“The character of Mrs. McCluskey was created for a single episode. We then cast Kathryn Joosten and she infused the part with so much feisty wit and curmudgeonly bravado, we knew we had to move her onto Wisteria Lane for the run of the series. I will forever miss her, as a co-worker and as a friend.”

Teri Hatcher is walking away from her role as Susan Mayer on ABC’s Desperate Housewives — a role she’s held for 7 years.

An inside said Teri let the news break to ABC:

“Teri has given in her notice and is making active preparations to move on,”

“She says she had an amazing run on the show but feels it is time to move on to a project that she has more control over.”

ABC was prepared to keep the show running for at least 2 more seasons, but with the dynamics of the characters, it won’t work without Teri Hatcher around.

After next season, Teri Hatcher, Eva Longoria and Felicity Huffman will all be out of contract, which is bad news for Desperate Housewives.

“ABC hasn’t announced its schedule yet because the future of the series is up in the air,”

“Some of the crew are disappointed in Teri, they feel like she is abandoning the show that revived her career.”

“Desperate Housewives can’t really continue without Teri or Felicity because they need the original stars to pull in the ratings.”

Meanwhile, a spokesperson from ABC commented on the life of the show:

‘We are working on the next season at the moment and we haven’t got anything to say about the one after.’

“Desperate Housewives” star Dana Delany confessed she had a very traumatic experience with Botox and vowed to never get plastic surgery to try to improve her appearance as an aging woman/actress in Hollywood.

In an interview for Prevention Magazine, the 54 year-old told how Botox killed one of the nerves on her face, affected a muscle and how her right eye has started to drop as a result of an experience gone wrong several years ago.

Dana said, “Seven years ago, I had never heard of Botox. My dermatologist was saying, ‘You should try it.’ He injected my forehead, hit a nerve, and created a huge hematoma. The nerve has been dead ever since. It affected the muscle in my right eye, so my eye has started to droop a little bit.”

“I won’t do it [plastic surgery], no. My hat’s off to Jamie Lee Curtis. She’s so smart, and she doesn’t dye her hair or anything. And Meryl Streep still looks like herself. Diane Keaton, too. I think the really great actresses don’t worry about that kind of thing.”

Dana also revealed she was an insecure teenage girl and had serious weight issues, which led to an eating disorder when she was over twenty years old: “I binged. I starved. I was one step from anorexia—a piece of toast and an apple would be all I would eat in a day.” Now Dana feels better than ever.

“Desperate Housewives” star Teri Hatcher, who is apparently sick of people thinking that she has had a lot of work done (including boobies and Botox!), decided to post pictures of herself coming out of the shower without make-up and wrapped up in a towel to show us her “natural” look last week.

The pictures were posted in a gallery titled “Oy with the Botox!!!”, in which Teri wrote a series of captions to explain she does not do Botox. Teri’s face has lots of wrinkles and prominent veins, which doesn’t mean she doesn’t hit the Botox bottle.

Here are Teri’s “natural bathroom look” picture ramblings (pictures below the fold):

“Out of the bath getting ready for bed. Thought about all those damn critics of my face. Love it or hate it, my face that is, no surgery, no implants, no matter what “they” say. Decided I’d shoot myself in to reveal some truths about “beauty” and hope it makes you all easier on yourself.”

“Did I every toy with fillers or Botox over the years? yes. Tell me does this look Botoxed to you? Yes I am alone in my bathroom naked in a towel on behalf of women everywhere trying to make a point. Women YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL”

“Oh look I can raise my eyebrows and wrinkles show up on my forehead. I can look both ways too.So I guess I”m safe to cross the street then. I can be mad, or confused or sad and tired. I have to say I cant remember ever being upset enough to look like this, but I’m just making or shall I say “under LINING” a point. “45 year old me. Just me wanting to teach that all those glam versus trash pictures of celebs are about LIGHTING. It’s not makeup it’s not surgery or botox its LIGHT. Flat front light in you face especially sun setting 4pm light blows out all wrinkles and imperfections. Over head light, sun anything casts shadows under your eye from your brow making you look tired. Shoot all family reunion photos that way over the camera man who should be holding the camera a little higher than your eye line.”

Teri even dropped an inspirational quote accompanying one of the pictures: “You create your own paradise or prison. Being happy inside is all that matters. Find that in whatever way works for you. See something in the mirror you love every day,” she wrote.

The 45 year-old actress was probably under the influence of some type of “uncontrolled” substance because, a couple days after, Teri basically admits she has done Botox in an interview for Entertainment Tonight.

“I can’t believe I actually put that out there!” she admitted. “It’s not about Botox to me…I don’t have any judgement about doing Botox…I’ve done Botox, I may do it again — I don’t know. It’s not the point.”

Then, what’s the point? We really don’t get it! So Teri basically posts anti-Botox messages in her Facebook, and then confesses she has done Botox and may even do it again. Why? We are totally confused. Ah! Teri probably wanted to distracts us from discussing her very fake boobies.

We wonder how much Teri paid Eva for the misleading all-natural advertising. Or the boobies are the only part of her body Teri hasn’t surgically enhanced. Who knows!?! Teri’s boobies do not seem natural to me, but we will take Eva’s word for it since she actually ferociously grabbed them!

Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry has his sights set on woman of the year: Betty White.  Cherry, who is a longtime friend of Betty’s, was formerly a writer for The Golden Girls.

He said:

“I adore Betty. Betty got me a seat at Saturday Night Live, so I was there when she hosted. She’s so astounding. I would love to have her do the show. She works harder than any of us. She is constantly employed. I’m trying to just see if I can get her for dinner. It’s so hard to book her!”

And he’s not kidding. I’m sure she’s actually fighting off jobs at this point.

Other newcomers to Wisteria Lane include Brian Austin Green, who recently wed Megan Fox, and Vanessa Williams of Ugly Betty. It looks as if Green will be playing love interest to two of the ladies on the show, including Williams and Marcia Cross:

“Marcia will have a new love interest in the form of Brian Austin Green. We wanted Bree to be involved with a hunky blue collar contractor and take her out of her refined and educated world — someone who’s a bit younger and someone who would be challenging to Bree. We read the first script of the season and I introduced Brian as Marcia’s new love interest and then I said, ‘You’re welcome, Marcia!’ and Marcia blushed.”

Actress Teri Hatcher had to get in a fat suit to film some scenes for an upcoming episode of “Desperate Housewives”, where Susan Mayer wonders what her life would be like if she had not left Karl (Richard Burgi). Susan, who is fat and unhappy with her cheating husband, asks Mike (James Denton), “You know what would serve him right? To come home and find me in bed with another man!” (watch video below)

In the tenth episode of season six titled “Boom Crunch”, the housewives are preparing the neighborhood for their annual Christmas festivities when a plane crashes on Wisteria Lane and makes at least two fatal victims.

Lynette (Felicia Huffman), who recently announced she is pregnant, and Gaby (Eva Longoria) continue to not really speak to each other because Carlos (Ricardo Chavera) fired Lynette and she decided to sue him. Meanwhile Katherine (Dana Delany) tells Susan (Teri Hatcher) that Mike (James Denton) was the one who stabbed her.

But Who Died On Desperate Housewives Season 6 Episode 11? The last episode of the year ends with a major cliff-hanger but it seems like the fatal victims of the plane crash will be Karl (Richard Burgi) and Mona Clark (Maria Cominis). Orson (Kyle MacLachlan) did not die but is possibly paralyzed. When Lynette tries to save Celia Solis (Gaby’s daughter) her twins are in danger… did they survive?

Actress Nicollette Sheridan, who plays the sexy single housewife Eddie Britt in Wisteria Lane, is officially leaving ABC’s hit show “Desperate Housewives“.

Show creator Marc Cherry revealed that Sheridan’s character would be crossing a moral boundary that “will have have devastating consequences for her and lead to a shocking conclusion to her time on Wisteria Lane.”

Eddie was the fun housewife! They can’t just kill her like that. We know the only way she can leave Wisteria Lane is if someone kills her or if she actually commits suicide, which we doubt. So who is going to kill Eddie?? I bet on Gabrielle Solis (Eva Longoria)!

Nicollette insists she wasn’t fired. It’s more like the nature course for the role she plays. Bye Bye Nicollette!!

Just five days until Eva Longoria marries basketball star Tony Parker in France and it looks like she got so excited that she peed on herself in anticipation of the big day.
