We had to say goodbye and pay the last tribute to many of our favorite celebrities in the year of 2009. We should always remember them for the amazing, talented artists they were. They have inspired generations, made part of our lives for years and some even decades therefore they will not be easily forgotten.

After the tragic of DJ AM aka Adam Goldstein, MTV decided to air his reality show titled “Gone Too Far” (8 episodes), which features a series of interventions for addicts around the country, with his family’s consent. “Gone Too Far” will premiere at 10/9c on Monday (October 12).
“After careful consideration we have decided to air the show,” Goldstein’s family said in a statement. “Adam felt strongly that by doing this series, he could help other addicts who were at a crisis point to get sober. Adam was fully aware that if it were not for his own sobriety, he never would have achieved the level of success and happiness he had found. Helping people in their recovery was a huge part of Adam’s life.
“It is our hope through airing this show that people will get to see the side of Adam that we knew and loved, not just the celebrity DJ, but the honest and caring person who gave so much of himself to help others. The decision to air the show has been difficult, but we do this with the profound belief that it will inspire others to seek help.”
DJ AM, whose life was completely dedicated to help others overcome their addiction, encouraging them to get a clean new life, ironically died of an accidental overdose in August (read more details here).

Adam Goldstein aka DJ AM, who was found dead in his apartment, has apparently died from an accidental overdose possibly a result of his dependency to Xanax and other drugs used to treat anxiety (benzodiazepines), according to TMZ.
The recent break up with girlfriend Hayley Wood apparently had nothing to do with his death. DJ AM did not commit suicide. The 36 year-old had recently ironically contributed for a new MTV reality show, which focused on drug abuse (watch video here).
AM, who had been sober for ten years, developed anxiety over flying, which was often required for his job, after surviving a deadly plane crash last year. The benzodiazepine meds to treat it could have caused AM’s recent relapse and the mixture of the meds with crack cocaine was possibly fatal.
DJ’s body has been released to his family after the autopsy and DJ AM’s funeral should take place in California till the end of the week. We will keep you informed and will update as soon as more information is available.

Adam Goldstein aka DJ AM was working on a new reality show about drug abuse for MTV before his tragic death from an apparent drug overdose. In a recent interview, DJ revealed he had recently bought a crack pipe just to show how easy it was for anyone to have access to it.
DJ AM said, “I bought a crack pipe … that was my drug of choice. And I walked out and I’m holding it … and then I realized after I was holding it that my palms were sweaty and I was like, ‘Wait a minute, this is not smart for me to be holding this.’”
According TMZ, a bag of crack was found near his body at his New York apartment on Friday (August 28), which makes us wonder if this “reality” show wasn’t critical to his death… AM, who was sober for ten years, had been having a rough time dealing with the break up with his girlfriend, Hayley Woods (photos), and suffered from post-traumatic stress after surviving a deadly plane crash late last year.

Blink-182’s Travis Barker has finally broken the silence twenty four hours after the death of his dear friend Adam Goldstein aka DJ AM was announced. Travis and AM were both survivors in a deadly plane crash back in September 2008, which had strengthen their bond.
Travis tweeted, “Don’t know how i am gonna play 2night but i am for AM. My brother is gone.i love u and miss u, i’ll never forget all the good times we had. I’ll never forget everything we’ve been thru and every time i play the drums i’ll think of you. U were an amazing friend/DJ/human being. Rest In Peace my brother, this really f*cks me up.”
DJ AM’s former girlfriend Mandy Moore, who is currently married to Ryan Adams, is said to be devastated with the news and has released the following statement.
Mandy Moore: “I am absolutely heartbroken. For those of us lucky enough to have known him, Adam radiated a contagious exuberance for life and also personified the very definition of a true friend. To say that he will be missed beyond words is an understatement. My heart goes out to his loved ones.”

An autopsy of DJ AM aka Adam Goldstein, who was found dead in his apartment yesterday, has been completed by the Medical Examiner’s Office in New York City but several other tests are being conducted. The toxicology reports may take weeks to complete and will be critical to the release of an official cause of death.

Adam Goldstein aka DJ AM, who was found dead in his NY apartment yesterday (read more details), broke up with his model girlfriend Hayley Wood less than a week ago. DJ was heartbroken and still suffering from post-traumatic stress from the plane crash he and Travis Barker survived in September 2008.
DJ AM had been sober and clean for nine years but the break up and stress could have taken him over the edge. His body was found head down, shirtless and wearing sweatpants near a glass “crack pipe” and prescription pill bottles.
New York City medical examiner’s office removed DJ AM’s body at 11 pm on Friday night. His ex-girlfriend Hayley was caught by photographers looking completely devastated outside the apartment last night (photos below).
Hayley and DJ AM started dating shortly after his most recent split with Mandy Moore back in October 2008. The 22 year-old model posted a video of her and DJ AM’s recent boat trip on her YouTube (August 15) – watch video at TMZ.
