Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson Dumped by Miami Dolphins After Arrest

Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson was dropped from the Miami Dolphins 24 hours after he was arrested on a domestic battery charge involving his wife of only five weeks, Evelyn Lozada.

Lozada ran to a neighbor’s home and called police after having an argument with her husband in the car in front of their home where he head-butted her, causing a “3-inch cut on her forehead,” according to the responding officer . She had reportedly found a receipt for a box of condoms in his car earlier in the day that prompted the dispute.

The wide-receiver confirmed to police that there was an argument over the receipt, but claimed that his wife had done the head-butting. He was released from jail with a misdemeanor charge on Sunday, poting a $2,500 bail.

The footballer’s defense attorney, Adam Swickle, told reporters that Lozada has had an order issued against Johnson which prevents him from contacting her.

Must really suck to lose your wife and your job in the same day. Then again, it must really suck to get head-butted by YOUR HUSBAND.

#5 Oklahoma Dominates & Embarrases #2 Texas Tech in Blow-Out Game

Domination was the name of the game last night in Norman, Oklahoma as the #5 Sooners pulverized the unbeaten #2 Red Raiders of Texas Tech. With the dominating win comes a huge push for QB Sam Bradford to win the Heisman and a need for a NCAA play-off system. The game has caused quite a confusion in rankings and where Texas, Texas Tech and Oklahoma should sit. With a final score of 65-21, Boomer Sooner was the title of the evening.

Oklahoma (10-1, 6-1), Texas (10-1, 6-1) and Texas Tech (10-1, 6-1) are tied for first-place in the South. If all three teams win next week, the South division representative in the Big 12 championship game would be the team ranked highest in the B.C.S. standings released Nov. 30. Whoever that team is will play the North division winner, Missouri, on Dec. 6. Texas Tech was ranked second, Texas third and Oklahoma fifth in this week’s B.C.S. standings.

If Oklahoma loses next Saturday at No. 11 Oklahoma State (9-2, 5-2) and Texas Tech beats Baylor (4-7, 2-5), the Red Raiders would win the division by virtue of its 39-33 victory against Texas on Nov. 1.

Texas, which beat Oklahoma, 45-35, on Oct. 11, would make the Big 12 title game if it beats Texas A&M (4-7, 2-5) and Texas Tech loses at home to Baylor.

Should Oklahoma beat Oklahoma State and Texas loses to Texas A&M, the Sooners would win the division. If Oklahoma were to beat Oklahoma State, the Sooners would probably be the highest-ranked Big 12 South team in the Nov. 30 B.C.S. standings, said Jerry Palm, an independent B.C.S. analyst. “In this formula, the voters will have a say, Palm said in a telephone interview. “If they can’t make up their mind, the computers could play a role, but really, it’ll be up to the voters.

If ever there was a scenario to show the importance of play-offs, this is it. Finally, the Big 12 is good for something!
