Sarah Drew is the latest Grey’s Anatomy star to announce that she’s expecting a little bundle of joy. Something must be in the water over on the ABC set; just less than a month ago, Drew’s co-star Eric Dane announced that his wife was once again expecting.

Grey’s Anatomy star Eric Dane has checked himself into a rehabilitation center for an addiction to painkillers, according to his rep.

In a statement, the rep confirmed:

“Actor Eric Dane voluntarily checked himself into a treatment facility to help him get off of pain medication that he was prescribed for a sports injury that he suffered over the recent hiatus. He reports back to work next week. Business as usual.”

Dane, 38, and his wife, actress Rebecca Gayheart, 39, are expecting their second child together. The new baby will join their daughter, Billie, who is 16 months old.

I’m glad to hear he’s doing the right thing–especially with one baby at home and another on the way. Get well soon!

Sara Ramirez just wrapped up her wedding on the hit drama Grey’s Anatomy as the character Callie Torres. Now, she’s preparing to walk down the aisle in real life, as she just announced her engagement to longtime partner Ryan Debolt.

Actor Patrick Dempsey revealed in a recent interview that he’ll be leaving the medical drama Grey’s Anatomy at the end season eight.

He told Italian Vogue:

“It’s gonna be my last. I do not know what’s going to happen to the other characters, but for me it’s done. [Leaving will be] bittersweet because it’s been a great part of my life. But I can’t see me doing it anymore.”

But not to worry, Grey’s fans; after the news broke, Dempsey’s publicist quickly rushed to the rescue, clearing up the quote:

“He was referring to the fact that his contract is up at the end of next season and we have no idea what the future holds.”

Dempsey’s co-star, Ellen Pompeo, who plays the title role of Meredith Grey, has said that after her contract ends in season eight, she won’t be returning. While McDreamy doesn’t have any immediate plans, there is another Grey family member on the show played by Chyler Leigh, who could potentially take over the story line.

TV Guide has reported  that one of the couples of ABC‘s Grey’s Anatomy will be engaged and married during next season’s premiere. The couple tying the knot could be Arizona and Callie, Alex and Lexie, or Owen and Cristina.

“The relationship takes the steps you take as you get deeper involved with someone. But Callie’s been married, so that could pose an issue.”

Kevin McKidd said that the relationship between Owen and Cristina, played by Sandra Oh, will progress this season:

“They definitely take it to the next level. The wedding could easily be them.”

He also added that Cristina may experience some “post-traumatic stress” from her previous wedding:

“They’ve been through a huge amount in two seasons and I think Cristina felt burned by her last wedding.”

I think Arizona and Callie will be the lucky couple. It’s about time we had a lesbian wedding on ABC. Which couple do you want to see married on the show?

The sixth season two-hour finale of Grey’s Anatomy was the most dramatic, exciting and emotionally charged ever. There are a lot of things happening – someone is pregnant, someone is shot, someone dies, another someone is shot and someone suffers a miscarriage. DRAMA!

Actress Katherine Heigl, who plays the role of Izzie in “Grey’s Anatomy”, has finally confirmed she is leaving the hit TV show for good in order to concentrate on her family (husband Josh Kelley and adopted daughter Naleigh – photos here).

Katherine told Entertainment Weekly, “I am done. We just finalized our agreement. Everyone had been working really hard to find an amicable and gracious way of letting go and moving on. It’s sad but it’s what I wanted.”

“I started a family and it changed everything for me,” she explains. “It changed my desire to work full-time. I know I’m disappointing the fans. I just had to make a choice. I hope I made the right one.”

I was never a fan of Izzie but I have to admit Katherine did a great job with the role she was offered. The truth is you can really tell Katherine is more interested in making movies than working the tight and frantic schedule of TV shows. Yes, Katherine Heigl is leaving Grey’s Anatomy but, unfortunately, it is only temporary. On the fifth episode (‘Invasion’) of the sixth season, Izzie Stevens gets too involved with a patient, it clouded her judgment and she ends up making what could be a fatal mistake which leads to her being cut from the staff of Seattle Grace.

Izzy and Mercy West-er Charles (Robert Baker) get paired up on Sarah Freemont, a young woman in desperate need of a kidney transplant and down to her last access point for dialysis. They seem to be getting along swimmingly until Izzy overhears him bragging to his Mercy West friends about her being his “surgical bitch.” In the midst of their troubles, Izzy almost kills patient Sarah by ordering a bum procedure and causing her to code. Bailey manages to save the patient, but because of her troubles she will lose her chance at the transplant kidney she’s been waiting three years for.

Chief has to get down the the nasty business of firing people, and HR insists he use a specific speech because the last person he fired (the pregnant intern) is suing for wrongful termination. Who’s getting the ax? None other than Izzy, who gets chopped for mishandling the kidney transplant patient. Considering she got a total free pass on the LVAD debacle, I can see why she’s surprised. Still, she got a total free pass on the LVAD debacle, so it makes sense for her to be “on notice” for her next big mistake. She takes it extremely hard, to the point where she skips town and leaves Alex via a note taped to his locker. I suppose if Meredith and Derek can get married via post it Alex and Izzy can get divorced via a Dear John letter. I do feel horribly sorry for Alex, and Justin Chambers played his reveal scene superbly.

Apparently, this storyline was made especially for Katherine who will be busy filming a new movie project and will return to Grey’s Anatomy in about a month. That is how Diva Katherine rolls! In fact, she is the second highest paid women on primetime (Forbes Top 10), so Katherine can do whatever she wants!

Grey’s Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo and her husband/music producer Chris Ivery are finally expecting their first child together. The couple tied the knot in a private ceremony in 2007 and the actress had recently said they were enjoying married life the best they could.

“We enjoy our life so much,” Pompeo said in the October 2008 issue. “We go to Europe and sleep in. So when I have the baby, I won’t feel like we’ve missed any fun, reckless times together, like staying up all night drinking champagne and having sex until five in the morning and not having to get up until two in the afternoon. But I’ve got to get on it, because the clock is ticking.”

Aww… the first Grey’s Anatomy baby!! I wonder if this pregnancy will have any impact in Dr. Meredith Grey’s future. Will she be having a McDreamy baby?? Congratulations to Ellen and Chris!!

Actress Aasha Davis, who has recurring roles on “Night Lights” and “Grey’s Anatomy”, reported her sister, Lesley Herring (46) missing since February 8 after a heated fight with her husband, Lyle Herring.

Detective Chris Gable investigating the case says the woman’s husband hasn’t been really helpful, which makes him looks suspicious. In a press conference, Lyle has denied his involvement in his wife’s disappearance.

“I would describe his cooperation as fragmented and less than helpful, not someone I would expect as a grieving husband,” Gable said.

Lyle Herring appealed for his wife to come home. “Please give us a call,” he said. “Let us know what’s going on. We have a lot to talk to about.”

It has been six weeks since Lesley disappeared and her sister Aasha thinks something awful happened to her: “She is a creature of habit,” Davis said at the news conference, “and this is why her disappearance is so alarming to us.”
