Actress Halle Berry has finally fessed up about her engagement to her Dark Tide co-star Olivier Martinez.

After months of speculation and many a ring spotting around Hollywood, Berry let her secret out. “I swore it off, right? Never say never, people!” she said in an interview last weekend.

French heartthrob Olivier Martinez has finally confirmed that he and actress Halle Berry are officially engaged during the opening of his new restaurant Villa Azur in South Beach, Miami over the weekend.

When asked if the engagement rumors were true, Olivier said “Yes, of course it’s true.” However, there is one rumor that is not true – the sketchy jeweler taking credit for designing Halle’s engagement ring is a fraud.

According to the 46 year-old, the special ring was designed by an artist, a French jeweler named Robert Mazlo, who designed for “kings and queens for many centuries”. That’s appropriate. Halle should be treated like a queen.

Halle was previously in a long relationship with ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry with whom she has a 3 year-old daughter named Nahla Ariela. The actress vowed to never marry again after two failed marriages with David Justice and Eric Benét, but she is seems to be eager to give Olivier a chance.

Halle Berry has pulled out of the Valentine’s Day sequel, New Year’s Day, due to a custody battle over her daughter that she is currently engaged in with her ex, Gabriel Aubry.

Halle Berry‘s rep has confirmed that the actress is preparing to go to court to fight for custody over her daughter Nahla, 2.

Her rep said:

“Halle has serious concerns for her daughter’s well-being while in the care of her father for any extended period of time and is prepared to take all necessary steps to protect her.”

Apparently, Halle has been trying to solve the custody issue without going to court. Her rep added:

“She has attempted to resolve these custody issues amicably with her daughter’s father, Gabriel Aubry, directly, but given his lack of cooperation, Halle has no choice but to seek swift judicial intervention.”

“Halle has always made the needs and safety of her daughter her first priority and, both while Halle and Gabriel were a couple and since their break-up, Halle has only acted in her daughter’s best interest.”

Halle and Gabriel split back in April. He filed papers December 30, seeking to be formally recognized as Nahla’s father and to establish that he’ll share custody.

“I do like being naked.” If you catch her “just walking around the house,” she says you might just find her in her birthday suit. (“Sometimes …,” she teases.) There’s only one thing Halle doesn’t like doing naked – cleaning the house!

The 44 year-old also admitted that she almost went nuts when she thought she had lost her daughter, 3 year-old Nahla Ariela, whose daddy is model Gabriel Aubry, in a department store.

“Talk about sweating,” she says. “And you just freak out for about 30 seconds. I came undone. I think my head projected off my body.”

“I looked down at a price tag or something, and she toddled off for what seemed like two seconds,” she says. “The next thing I know, I looked back around and it was like, Whosh! Gone! And I said, ‘Nayla? Nayla? Nayla?’ Gone,” she continues. “My heart just started … I’m like, Close the store! Shut the door! My daughter’s gone!’”

Turns out, Berry says, “She was right next to me — in a rounder of clothes where the pants were hanging. Right there. And after I became a lunatic and totally embarrassed myself, she stuck her head out and was like, ‘Hi.’”

That was embarrassing and it could have been a major scandal. Halle, the supermom loses daughter in department store. SHOCKING! Anyhow, Nahla is a smart little girl since she let her mother suffer for a bit before surprising her.

Just tell me because nobody has told me this,’ ” she says. “Not that I wouldn’t want to play Oprah if there was a movie. I just don’t know how this stuff gets made up.”
