Actress Emma Watson, who plays Hermione Granger, was the victim of a wardrobe malfunction (photos below) at the wet premiere of “Harry Potter And The Half Blood Prince” at the Empire Leicester Square Theater in London, England on Tuesday (July 7).

The 19 year-old star was greeting her fans when her floor-length flowy dress opened exposing her skin-tone underwear. That would have been really embarrassing if Emma wasn’t such a beautiful young lady who handled the situation like a pro, continuing to smile and pose for the cameras at the red carpet.

Here is the latest trailer (and possibly the final one!) for the much anticipated movie “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince,” which will hit theaters on July 17, 2009.

Here is a video trailer for the much anticipated upcoming film Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. It looks to be just as good as its predecessors and is going to do a killing at the box office regardless. The film is reported to be released on November 21, 2008. The official trailer (above, I hope) kept the internet hopping all day until its release.

Emma Watson has been perusing her wardrobe in preparation for her long-awaited 18th birthday party this week.

While other girls her age might be happy with a new outfit from Topshop or Zara, the sophisticated Miss Watson has turned up her delicate nose at the rows of couture Chanel and Chloe already hanging on her designer rails and declared them totally unsuitable for the occasion.

There have been protracted and occasionally fraught discussions with her personal stylist and at least one moment when she became so exasperated by her inability to find the perfect ensemble she considered opting for jeans and her favourite multi-coloured Converse baseball boots.

But after several shopping sprees, plus the usual private audiences - reserved for stars of her ilk - at some of the most exclusive fashion houses in London, the actress (better known as Harry Potter’s sensible sidekick Hermione Granger) has finally decided on the perfect melange.

Not even her closest friends are permitted to know the full details of the expensive creation she will wear for her big night.

But Emma, who this month is pictured in both British and American Vogue, is determined her look should be utterly show-stopping.

In other words, she won’t be dressing her age. Emma wants to battle Miley Cyrus as the next Britney Spears?

Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe has dumped girlfriend Laura O’Toole according to the Laura. Perhaps it was mutual, but getting dumped by Harry Potter sure makes for a better title.

The 18-year-old actor started dating Laura after they met on stage during raunchy West End play Equus.

But Daniel didn’t dump laura, who’s 4 years his senior, they have both gone their separate ways.

Laura revealed: “Daniel and I are still good friends and have a good time when we see each other. But we just have to be realistic.”

The pair kicked off their whirlwind romance early last year after sharing a lengthy nude sex scene in Equus, in which Dublin-born Laura, 22, was understudy for the role of Radcliffe’s girlfriend.

Radcliffe took his clothes off for his steamy sex scenes with O’Toole (photos) in the London play Equus.

J.K. Rowling, author of the ‘Harry Potter‘ books, is now working on a British detective novel.  It would be her first book since the conclusion of her magician books.

The Sunday Times newspaper quoted Ian Rankin, a fellow author and neighbor of Rowling’s, as saying the creator of the “Harry Potter” books is turning to crime fiction.

“My wife spotted her writing her Edinburgh criminal detective novel,” the newspaper, which was available late Saturday, quoted Rankin as telling a reporter at an Edinburgh literary festival.

J.K. has stated that she doesn’t expect her future books to sell nearly as good as the ‘Potter’ series.   I think she will be surprised to find that her following will carry over into her new literary adventures.

Daniel Radclife, who plays the boy wizard Harry Potter, turns 18 today.  Which means he gains access to over $19 million dollars of money he has made from the movie franchise.

Radcliffe, who was 11 when he was first cast as the schoolboy wizard in the films based on novels, is gaining access to a $19 million investment fund, People magazine reported in its July 23 issue.

British newspapers have estimated that he has a total net worth of $35 million, with two more movies in the “Potter” series yet to be filmed, the magazine said.

That’s a lot of strippers and whiskey for the Pot-man.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the seventh and final installment of the Harry Potter book series by J.K. Rowling, was finally released today. No spoilers here, but one of the main characters is in fact killed off.

Thousands of fans of the book have waited in line for most of the past week. I don’t understand why since there is more than enough ‘Deathly Hallows’ that have been published to go around. It is not a limited edition item. One could also order it from Amazon anytime over the past year and it would arrive on your doorstep today without having to brave the heat and boredom of awaiting 12:01am Saturday July 21st.

The latest installment of Harry Potter titled Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is embargoed from being released until Saturday at 12:01am. The New York Times was able however to pay a N.Y. book store a pile of cash to get a copy violating the embargo. The review is very positive for J.K. Rowling’s last installment of the pubescent wizard.

J. K. Rowling’s monumental, spellbinding epic, 10 years in the making, is deeply rooted in traditional literature and Hollywood sagas — from the Greek myths to Dickens and Tolkien to “Star Wars.? And true to its roots, it ends not with modernist, “Soprano?-esque equivocation, but with good old-fashioned closure: a big-screen, heart-racing, bone-chilling confrontation and an epilogue that clearly lays out people’s fates. Getting to the finish line is not seamless — the last part of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,? the seventh and final book in the series, has some lumpy passages of exposition and a couple of clunky detours — but the overall conclusion and its determination of the main characters’ story lines possess a convincing inevitability that make some of the prepublication speculation seem curiously blinkered in retrospect.

From his first days at Hogwarts, the young, green-eyed boy bore the burden of his destiny as a leader, coping with the expectations and duties of his role, and in this volume he is clearly more Henry V than Prince Hal, more King Arthur than young Wart: high-spirited war games of Quidditch have given way to real war, and Harry often wishes he were not the de facto leader of the Resistance movement, shouldering terrifying responsibilities, but an ordinary teenage boy — free to romance Ginny Weasley and hang out with his friends.

Daniel Radcliffe, Mr. Harry Potter himself, is all grown up and looking rather sleek on the cover of the new Details magazine.

(By David Lay) Ok, let it be known… I am a Harry Potter fan. I love the books…and the movies. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is the 5^th movie in the Harry Potter series, and because I’m a huge fan of the books, it is really hard for me to separate the books from the movie. But, that notwithstanding, I did like this movie. I’m not sure it was the THE best of the franchise, but it was top 2, for sure.

For starters, the acting was actually pretty good. Daniel Radcliffe is starting to come into his own, and the supporting cast was better than in the previous films. Now, don’t get me wrong, no one from this film will be nominated for an Oscar (or even a Golden Globe), but it was fairly good, especially for a “family friendly? fantasy movie. The movie was well cast, with several huge stars (Ralph Fiennes, Gary Oldman, Alan Rickman) returning. As well as Helena Bonham Carter excellently cast as the purely evil Bellatrix Lestrange. The new-comer, Evanna Lynch, played Luna Lovegood well (though I think she may have been playing herself). All in all, they all got the point across, which for a movie like this is sufficient………….

I complied this list of the 20 Greatest Movie Characters of All-time after consulting with more than a dozen Hollywood executives.  Some of these choices were easy while the others can easily be debated.  Who should be on this list? The Top 20 Movie Characters of All-Time

1.   E.T.- The alien is number one.  E.T.- The Extra-Terrestrial started the mass merchandise tie-in trend that continues today.  The biggest surprise is that E.T. hasn’t phoned Hollywood for a sequel.

 

2.  Indiana Jones-  Harrison Ford made this role the quinessential role for being an action hero.  Fans can expect to see another Indiana Jones film sometime in 2008.  Indy made the whip more popular than Betty Page ever thought about.

 

3.  Jack Sparrow- Johnny Depp has turned a slow boat ride at a theme park into a box office money making machine for Jerry Bruckheimer.  Sexually confused Captain Jack makes audiences laugh moreso for being dim-witted and clumsy than for his bravery, but he is always there to save the day in the end.  Look for the third installment of Pirates of the Caribbean to be released in May of 2007.

 

4.  Rocky- The Rocky movies have the best theme song of all-time.  Rocky is the ultimate underdog that we all find ourselves rooting for in a world that is stained with the likes of Terrell Owens, Barry Bonds, Pete Rose, and Mike Tyson.  There is a new Rocky movie in the works. Sylvester Stallone just turned 60 years old, but will star in Rocky VI which is due to be released in December 2006.

 

5.  Darth Vader- The Star Wars films would be only slightly better than average if they were void of the Man in Black.  Vader is not the voice you hear when calling 1-900-HOT-LOVE. His trademarked asthma challenged voice and complex history make Darth Vader one of the best villans and movie characters of all-time. 

 

6.  Hannibal Lecter- Human flesh has never been as tasty as Hannibal Lecter made it in Silence of the Lambs.  I know many people who are still scared just by looking at Anthony Hopkins.

 

7.  Han Solo- Harrison Ford makes the list twice.  Every young kid wanted to be Han after seeing the first Star Wars movie in 1977. Many of George Lucas’ friends claim the character was based upon Francis Ford Coppola. 

 

8.  James Bond- They will be making James Bond movies even after the rapture.  Sean Connery set the standard for all 007’s that would come after him. If Rogaine had been around back in the day he might have never lost the job.  Pierce Brosnan also did an admirable job as Bond.

 

9.  Forrest Gump- Tom Hanks is the best actor of our generation and he is at his best in Forrest Gump. Hanks portrayal of Forrest Gump did nothing for the average Americans stereotype of our brothers and sisters from Alabama, but he sure made us laugh, cry, and hope that Jenny would finally realize how much he loved her.

 

10.  Wicked Witch of the West- The original WWW.  The Wizard of Oz would be your normal gummy gum after school special if it were not for the Wicked Witch of the West. The only thing scarier than her in this movie is her A.D.D. possessed flying monkies.

 

11.  Scarlett O’Hara- Vivien Leigh is the most famous dame of cinema history.  Her beauty, strong-will, and love for Clark Gable is the key reason that Gone With the Wind is the box office champ of all-time (when adjusted for inflation).

 

12.  Shrek- Green hasn’t been this popular since right before Kermit went into rehab back in the early 90’s.  Shrek is a box office king and we should expect Shrek 3 to break even more records. Rumors continue to swirl of a Shrek-Princess Fiona sex tape circulating on the internet.

 

13.  Terminator- Arnold Schwarzenegger was The Terminator before he was the governator.  We knew each time a Terminator film did $250 million at the box office that Arnold would ‘be back’.  We will have to wait to see if Arnold will return to the screen after his political career.

 

14.  Mickey Mouse- The gloved one is the oldest movie character on our list. Mickey got his start in shorts back in 1928.  Mickey Mouse became famous in Steamboat Willie.  He made a comeback in 1940 in his greatest role as the Sorcerer’s apprentice in Fantasia.

 

15.  Dorothy Gale- Classic innocence is not the tradmark of Judy Garland’s life but it is the immortal image we have of her as Dorothy Gale in The Wizard of Oz.

 

16.  Harry Potter- Some say that Harry is better on paper than film, but he is a hero to millions of illiterate children who have grown up watching the Harry Potter movies. 

 

17.  Willie Wonka- Gene Wilder gave a rememorable performance as Willie Wonka in Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.  The movie was a box office flop but over the years it has become a cult classic.  Wonka’s chocolate obsession got him a movie and years later it got Kirstie Alley a TV show and endorsement deal with Jenny Craig.

 

18.  George Bailey- We all realize It’s a Wonderful Life every Christmas when we see George Bailey realize that the world would be a much worse place if he had never been born.  I believe we all have a bit of George Bailey in us.  Jimmy Stewart always came across as a real life George Bailey. A normal guy that you always pull for no matter the odds.

 

19.  Andy Dufresne- The Shawshank Redemption is one of the best films of the last fifteen years.  Everytime I see Tim Robbins in a new movie I start looking for Red as well. I think most of us wish Robbins, as Andy, would have knocked off his real life wife Susan Sarandon in the opening scenes. 

 

20.  Gollum- Our list concludes with the anti-E.T.  Gollum, from Lord of the Rings, lived to be 589 years old.  He was consumed with his quest for the Ring and the power it possessed.  The ring is lost forever but not before Gollum is reunited with it. He sounds a lot like Adrianne Curry and her pursuit of a ring from Christopher Knight.

JK Rowling who is currently working on the 7th installment of the Harry Potter franchise is intimating she may kill the titular character off with the end of the series.

“I have never been tempted to kill him off before the final because I’ve always
planned seven books, and I want to finish on seven books,�? Rowling said Monday. 

The Harry Potter series has made Rowling the richest woman in Britian and she is currently at work finishing the book which she says, two other character are slated to die.
