25-year-old Crystal Harris called off her engagement with 85-year-old Playboy founder Hugh Hefner in June days before their impending nuptials, but kept her $90,00 engagement ring. Claiming the ring brings back “bad memories,” the former Playboy model is now auctioning off the 3.39-carat rock herself.

It’s been a roller coaster of a month for Hugh Hefner and his runaway bride Crystal Harris. After Harris made an appearance on Sirius XM’s Howard Stern Show where she discussed her sex life with Hefner and said it was less than desirable, Hefner wasn’t pleased. Now, Harris has seen the light (or the money from the Playboy mansion) and has apologized to Hefner…sort of.

“The Stern interview scared me, he’s harsh. I was unprepared and blurted out things I shouldn’t have said, I’m sorry.”

Somehow I knew Howard Stern would end up getting the blame. Regardless, Hefner, 85, accepted the apology via Twitter:

“[Her original comments] didn’t have much to do with reality.”

“I think Crystal told Howard Stern what he wanted to hear.”

Harris claimed that the sex she had with Hefner lasted just “two seconds,” and that they had only been intimate together one time over two years together.. Hefner responded, via Twitter:

“Crystal lied about our relationship on Howard Stern, but I don’t know why. Maybe a new boyfriend?

That Tweet has since been removed. He added, responding to his followers:

“Crystal convinced me that she adored me. That was the first lie.”

“I feel sorry for Crystal. She seems lost.”

This is all very strange to me. Well, that sounds dumb–after all, there was a 60 year age difference between them. But what confuses me is that I thought these two split amicably. If they did split without hard feelings, why the talk about their pitiful sex life now? Let’s blame it on Howard Stern. That seems like the easiest thing to do. Apparently, the term “sentimental value” doesn’t hold any weight with the recently single, Crystal Harris.

The blonde bombshell was spotted at Prospect Jewelers, a San Diego area jewelry store, this weekend, getting her enormous engagement bling, er – ring, appraised.

When asked for some pretty basic information regarding the ring, the former Girls Next Door star was overheard calling the Playboy Mansion to get info regarding the cut, quality and clarity of the diamond.  Sounds like Ms. Harris is looking to make a little dough off her broken engagement!

According to a TMZ report, when the jewelry store owner offered his condolences on her broken engagement with Hugh Hefner, the Playmate merely laughed and said, “Are you kidding? It was all for publicity.”

It’s true, a phony engagement is standard procedure when you’re not getting enough media attention for being part of Hugh Hefner’s harem.  Crystal was just following the playbook.

Hugh Hefner’s ex-fiancée, Crystal Harris, went on KIIS FM with Ryan Seacrest this morning to discuss her broken engagement with the king of the Playboy Bunnies.

Crystal said that she was ready to move on with her life and that living at the Playboy Mansion,

Isn’t the lifestyle for me. Multiple girls around all the time. The Playboy lifestyle. I just wanted to be true to myself.

Harris also told Seacrest that Hef was only interested in marrying her because he believe that it was what she wanted – not because he truly wanted to spend the rest of his life with her.  According to Crystal, her hubby-to-be was actually relieved that the wedding was canceled.

Is this guy really worried about having to share a bed with only one woman for the “rest of his life”?  Hey Hef – YOU’RE 86 YEARS OLD!  Consider yourself lucky that anyone wants to crawl into that bed at all!

Hugh Hefner and Crystal Harris have called off their upcoming nuptials just 60 hours before Harris was supposed to walk down the aisle.  Apparently Harris pulled the plug on the relationship because Hef wouldn’t give her a bigger allowance.

Sounds like a perfectly healthy and grown-up relationship doesn’t it?

TMZ is also reporting, that the 26-year-old was more focused on her blossoming music career than her wedding to Hef.  According to a source close to The Mansion, Harris felt she “couldn’t be married to Hef and have a successful music career.”

No sweetie – you’ve got it all wrong.  You can’t have a successful music career because you’re terrible at singing.
