Actress Isla Fisher looked absolutely stunning in her beautiful green dress at the premiere of her new movie “Confessions of a Shopaholic” held at the Ziegfield Theater in New York. If you haven’t read the book with the original title of “The Secret Dreamworld of a Shopaholic“, which was shortened to “Confessions Of a Shopaholic” so Americans could read it, I suggest you go see the movie.

Isla is an amazing actress but I always feel like they miss something when they turn a book into a movie… don’t you think? In the movie Rebecca Bloomwood doesn’t have a British accent so it is expected the fans of the author, Sophie Kinsella, will somehow boycott it by not going to the movie theaters.

Australian actress Isla Fisher continues to promote her new movie “Confessions of a Shopaholic” which will hit theaters on February, 13th. In a interview for Allure Magazine, Isla talks about what it’s like being with “Borat” for seven years now, converting to Judaism, her career and how funny it is to be mistaken for other redheaded actresses like Amy Adams or Debra Messing.

Here are some highlights of Isla Fisher’s Allure interview:

On being with British comedian Sacha Baron Cohen for 7 years: “We are going to get married really, really, even more so now than ever. We have been talking about it, and we have been very close, but it has been difficult to plan [something private.]”

On converting to Judaism: “I think if one wanted to be buried next to one’s beloved and they were Jewish, then one would have to be Jewish, too.”

On her family being nomadic growing up: “I attribute my ability to tap into my inner idiot to having to be such a gypsy and to adapt to new environments and new people at school. You can make friends quickly if you’re willing to take the piss out of yourself.”

On becoming a comedy/funny actress: “I was so disillusioned by the rejection of being an actress in L.A., and Sacha said, ‘What are you doing? You are the funniest woman I know. You have to do comedy.’ It had never crossed my mind—even though, when I flick through photo albums, I am always the one humping the table or wearing a silly mustache.”

On being constantly mistaken for Amy Adams: “If [Shopaholic] is a hit, it was Isla Fisher in the movie. And if it doesn’t work out, it was Amy Adams.”

On Hollywood: “I met with one big agent and he goes to me, ‘You are so talented’. I said, ‘Oh, gosh, thank you. What have you seen me in?’ And he said, ‘Nothing’. It was my first real taste of Hollywood.”

On not being an “exercise person”: “You know the point where somebody working out starts to feel tired? Apparently, you get this second wind and you really start to sweat, and that’s when you get addicted. But for me, that’s the point I get off and have a cup of tea and a slice of cake.”

On being funny: “I was getting rejected so much and Sacha said, ‘You’re so funny’, so that, coming from him…I just think it’s the fact that I can juggle condiments for him.”

On Sacha Baron Cohen: “Most people can say to their partners, ‘How was your day at work? What time are you home for dinner?’ I have to say, ‘Are you getting sued? Have you been arrested? Are you in jail? Are all your limbs still attached?’ He has more lawsuits than the Baldwin brothers.”

On her role in Wedding Crashers: “The director wanted me to play it like Sharon Stone in Basic Instinct and I said, ‘No – you mean Glenn Close in Fatal Attraction’.”

On love and converting to Judaism: “Love is an incredible gift if you’re lucky enough to receive it and give it, and I think having a baby is another whole level of love. I think it’s great to have those boundaries and have one day that’s sacred where we don’t talk about work. And I love having more structure and rituals in my life – it’s really enriching.”
