Jamie Lynn Spears and Casey Aldridge are the parents of a healthy baby girl that they have named Maddie Briann. Spears gave birth this morning in Mississippi around 9:30 am.

There is a new baby in the Spears clan! Jamie Lynn Spears and her fiancé Casey Aldridge welcomed a baby girl at a hospital in Mississippi, near her Louisiana hometown, around 9:30 a.m. Thursday morning.

PEOPLE confirms exclusively that the baby was named Maddie Briann.

I am not sure where Maddie came from but Briann very likely came from Jamie Lynn’s older brother Bryan who seems to be the steadiest of the Spears clan. This family likes naming their kids after their family members. Jamie Lynn is named after her dad Jamie and mom Lynn Spears.

Britney, her dad and brother all flew into New Orleans last night.

That’s right folks, Britney Spears is now an Aunt!

The National Enquirer is reporting that Jamie Lynn Spears and posse headed to a hospital in McComb, Mississippi early this morning for Spears’ to give birth.

Jamie Lynn Spears entered Mississippi Southwest Regional Medical Center in McComb, Ms at 4 a.m. today where doctors are expected to induce labor for the 17-year-old Zoey 101 star, The NATIONAL ENQUIRER has learned exclusively.

Insiders told The ENQUIRER, doctors may deliver the baby by C-section within the next 24 hours.

So it’s wait and see! Maybe later today we will have news of a healthy baby girl for Jamie Lynn and her boyfriend Casey Aldridge.

Britney Spears is back home in Kentwood, Louisiana. Spears, along with her dad and brother, left L.A. for LA so they can be with Brit’s younger sister Jamie Lynn Spears as she awaits birth of her first child.

OK! can confirm that the 26-year old singer took a commercial flight out of LAX and touched down in New Orleans on Wednesday afternoon accompanied by her father Jamie Spears, brother Bryan Spears and Brit’s assistant Brett.

Warm up the gumbo, chill the beer, and let the Louisiana party begin as Spears Incorporated prepares to add another one to the circus.

It was a family affair Saturday as mom-to-be Jamie Lynn Spears had her baby shower in Kentwood, La.

About 30 guests were invited – including big sis Britney – to Kentwood for a ladies-only, catered celebration for the 17-year-old at the family’s Serenity mansion. (Spears hadn’t been back to her hometown since her aunt’s funeral early last year.)

“Jamie Lynn opened every gift,” says a source, adding that mom Lynne and fiancé Casey Aldridge’s mother lent a hand. “We all sat in a circle and she opened gifts and thanked every person. It was just a good old fashioned baby shower.”

In March, the Zoey 101 star registered for baby booty at Babies “R” Us.

Though sheriff’s deputies were posted at the gate and paparazzi circled in helicopters, “it was a normal shower,” says the source. “A wonderful, sweet occasion.”

It’s nice to see that Britney’s father let her out of her cage, no?

Casey Aldridge and Jamie Lynn started the evening at 7 pm. The couple made a quick stop at Jamie Lynn’s relatives and then went for shopping at Wal-Mart where they picked out a new bed for Jamie Lynn’s puppy.

After the extravagant shopping spree, the two grabbed dinner at Ruby Tuesday’s.

What a party animal — the poor dear.

Teen actress Jamie Lynn Spears is staying low key down in the bayou but that hasn’t stopped her from being giddy and showing off her diamond engagement ring from daddy-to-be Casey Aldridge.

Spears, 16, has been flashing the rock to friends and family around Louisiana and Mississippi, a source close to the family tells PEOPLE.

“She’s got an engagement ring,” the source says. “She’s been showing it off, talking about it.”

Congrats to the two youngsters.  No word on a wedding date or any details but I am betting they will have a big wedding at a sugar cane plantation down in Louisiana.

Early reports and speculation are that teenie Jamie Lynn Spears is having a baby boy.  Jamie and older sister Britney Spears were spotted at a boutique buying items that were baby blue in color.

So exactly who is this Casey Aldridge who knocked up the young Miss Jamie Lynn Spears.  Casey’s friends and classmates down in the south are all offering their opinion of just who Casey happens to be.

Here are a few of their quotes:

“Casey really liked being known for dating Jamie Lynn,” says a former classmate. “He thought it was really cool that he was dating someone famous, and you could just tell that he loved the attention.”

“Casey is one of those boys who really has a lot going for him,” says a former teacher at Amite School Center, where Aldridge lettered in football and baseball, served as senior class president and graduated in May 2007. “He’s handsome, smart and very, very charming.”

Presidential candidate Mike Huckabee is supporting Jamie Lynn Spears and her decision, at 16-years-old, to have a baby with boyfriend Casey Aldridge.

“I think that is the right decision, a good decision,” said the former Arkansas Governor of Jamie Lynn. “I hope it is not an encouragement to other 16-year-olds who think that is the best course of action.”

Huckabee is a Baptist minister who is pro-life.  He has surged to the top of the polls in Iowa, where the first primary will be in January.

Casey Aldridge’s uncle, Odus Jackson, is not holding back his thoughts on his nephew’s feat of knocking up Jamie Lynn Spears.  He says that two wrongs don’t make a right, but that he hopes they can stay in a committed relationship and get married if they love each other.

Jackson, who is a pastor at Galilee First Baptist Church in Gloster, Miss., says that while he is hopeful the young couple will remain in a committed relationship, he is also realistic.

“I hope they will stick it out and get married for the child’s sake and their sake,” he says. “But if they’re not in love and it was just a fantasy, they don’t need to make the same mistake twice.”

My favorite line is when Preacher Odus talks about Casey’s testosterone.

“To me, personally, when he was allowed to go out to California part of his senior year . . . you know when you put boy and girl together, it don’t work,” says Jackson. “Testosterone is tough to control.”

Casey can be sure that his kid will never be on welfare since he was sure to ‘knock up’ a Spears.  In that aspect Kevin Federline has been a great role model to many young men.

He did rob the cradle though but hopefully the authorities won’t press him with a rape charge.

The internet and TV has been abuzz about Jamie Lynn Spears announcement that she is pregnant with Casey Aldridge’s baby. It is well reported that Spears is 16-years-old and that Aldridge is 19. So that creates one very ugly legal question:

Did Casey Aldridge rape Jamie Lynn Spears? The answer would have to be yes if Casey is over the age of 18. How can consensual sex be rape? If it’s statutory rape, which is when an adult has sex with a minor (someone below the age of consent).

So what is statutory rape in California? Well according to CriminalAttorney.com statutory rape is when two people have sex and one of the partners is a minor, unless the two are married. Read below for the actual legislative/lawyer speak.

In California statutory rape, or unlawful sexual intercourse, is: an act of sexual intercourse accomplished with a person who is not the spouse of the perpetrator, if the person is a minor. . . . [A] minor is a person under the age of 18 years. Cal. Pen. Code 261.5(a).

How serious of a crime is statutory rape in California? Criminal Attorney states that when the one accused of statutory rape is less than three years older, as Casey’s age indicates, that the rape is simply a misdemeanor. If there is more than a three year age difference then the accused can be charged with a misdemeanor or a felony.

Where the perpetrator is no more than 3 years older or younger than the victim, statutory rape is a misdemeanor. Cal. Pen. Code 261.5(b). When the minor is more than 3 years younger than the perpetrator, the offense is a wobbler, which means that it can be charged as either a misdemeanor or a felony.

So what type of punishment can be expected? Criminal Attorney states that the misdemeanor charge can land one in the county jail for up to a year. Since the age difference is not so egregious and the two were living together I would expect for Casey’s sentence to be much less than a year, if he is even charged with the crime at all.

A misdemeanor charge can be penalized by 1 year in county jail. 261.5(d).

My legal guesstimate is that Casey, having knocked up a pretty well-known celebrity will not face any charges or jail time. It would be hard for a district attorney to press charges when he takes into account that Aldridge is barely an adult and that the age difference between the two parents-to-be is relatively close.

That is the other major factor in why no charges will be filed. The two ‘KIDS’ are having a baby together. They were living together and they are going to be parents at a very early age. They will have a lot on them, especially being in the spotlight, and they need every bit of support possible to raise their baby together as a couple.

Brit’s mom will not file charges against Casey and neither should the district attorney.

Jamie Lynn Spears, the kid sister of Britney Spears, is pregnant according to insiders.  Jamie is just 16-years-old and the father is live-in boyfriend Casey Aldridge according to OK! magazine.

In the interview, which is scheduled to hit newsstands Wednesday, Jamie-Lynn Spears reportedly tells the magazine the baby’s father is Casey Aldridge, her boyfriend whom she met at church.
