Reports have surfaced claiming that American Idol executives planned to replace Mariah Carey with former judge Jennifer Lopez mid-season after their ratings took a major drop.

Insiders claim that Carey threatened legal action after she caught wind of the speculation, which secured her spot until the end of the season. The sources also said Lopez is in negotiations to appear on the season finale in May.

Carey’s rep has denied rumors of her being dropped from the show, as has Fox, whose spokesperson said in a statement: ”This is just another ridiculous Idol rumor, likely started by talks of Jennifer performing on the finale.”

Earlier in the week, CBS execs sent out a request, asking attendees to follow a dress code. ”Please be sure that buttocks and female breasts are adequately covered,” the e-mail read. “Thong type costumes are problematic. Please avoid exposing bare flesh under curves of the buttocks and buttock crack. Bare sides or under curvature of the breasts is also problematic.”

“Please avoid sheer see-through clothing that could possibly expose female breast nipples. Please be sure the genital region is adequately covered so that there is no visible ‘puffy’ bare skin exposure,” the email continued.

The 43-year-old singer was called out by E! host Ryan Seacrest for potentially violating the rules. ”They didn’t say anything about leg!” Lopez replied. “I thought i was being such good girl — [just] a little shoulder and a little leg.”

While presenting the first award of the evening with rapper Pitbull, Lopez quipped to the audience, ”So, as you can see, I read the memo…” The audience laughed as a photo of the star’s famous green Versace dress from 2000 flashed across the screen.

“You inspired the memo,” Pitbull said.

Jennifer Lopez isn’t one for holding back her assets but perhaps too much of one was on display Thursday night at the Bologna, Italy at the Unipol Arena when her nip slipped out of her skin-tight catsuit.

No, that was not pepperoni!

Per the HuffPo:

Just kidding! She wore a sheer, bedazzled catsuit that left little to the imagination. And concertgoers got even more of an eyeful when she experienced an unfortunate nip slip. (Girl, we can’t tout the merits of double-stick tape enough.)

In fact, the costume created other revealing moments, such as when J.Lo. turned her back to the crowd and her Spanx shapewear was on full display.

Jennifer Lopez finally confirmed she’s leaving American Idol on KIIS-FM with Ryan Seacrest this morning.

After months of speculation, the triple threat told Seacrest: ”I honestly feel like the time has come that I have to get back to doing the other things that I do, that I put … on hold because I love Idol so much.”

“I could do Idol for the rest of my life,” she said, “but that would be giving up a bunch of other things. We had an amazing run.”

“I have my movies and my music and my this and my that,” Lopez, 40, said. “It all kind of worked together for a while, but then it gets more complicated. As the kids are getting a little bigger, it started feeling like it was a lot. Something has to give. And that’s, I think, where I am right now.”

Lopez’s announcement comes one day after fellow judge Steven Tyler announced his departure from the show. There’s also speculation that Randy Jackson, who has been with the show since it began, will be leaving.

I started watching Idol again because of Lopez. She gave the show a new twist. Let the new judge rumors begin!

“What To Expect When You’re Expecting” co-stars, Jennifer Lopez and Cameron Diaz, have cleared up the rumors they cannot stand each other and didn’t even talk to each other on set during an interview with Ellen DeGeneres, which will air on Tuesday (May 15)- watch sneak peek video below.

The truth is the two really didn’t talk to each other simply because they had different schedules and no scenes together. These two girls do get along. There were no cat fights, no drama. JLo also revealed she is not sure if she will be returning for a new season of American Idol.

“Was there any chemistry on the set of the video with any of the dancers?” Ryan Seacrest asked as he introduced a sneak preview of “Dance Again.”

“It’s a good video,” she assured him, blushing and giggling. “I can’t wait for you all the see it! Enjoy it, enjoy the song, it’s very close to my heart. It has a great message, and I hope everybody likes it.”

In the video, JLo and Casper get a bit carried away – they dance with glitter all over their sweaty bodies, they blindfold and tie up each other, and it’s all so kinky and incredibly uncomfortable to watch.

“Dance Again” directed by Paul Hunter is actually pretty cheesy, but that’s probably Jennifer’s fault. She is desperately trying to promote/show off her new boy toy by shoving his “hotness” in our faces and it’s annoying. Plus, I don’t think muscled Casper is anywhere near the “hot” level.

If you thought that dress was hot wait until you see what’s next.”
