William Blankenship, an editor who worked on shows like Jon and Kate Plus 8, Kate Plus 8, 17 Kids and Counting and Table for 12, was arrested on October 21 on child porn-related charges.

TLC Cancels Kate Plus 8, Jon Gosselin Responds

58-year-old Blankenship was charged with 10 counts of sex exploit of a minor, which means he possessed photos and/or video of a minor engaged in sexual activity. YUCK.

No bond has been set for the creepster. He is likely ”under the authority of the U.S. Marshals” until trial, a spokesperson for the Federal Bureau of Prisons said.

Figure 8 Films, the company he worked as a subcontractor for, released a statement on the arrest:

“Bill Blankinship was employed by Serious Robots, with whom Figure 8 Films subcontract for editing services. Upon learning of the shocking allegations his employment was terminated,”

The company went on to explain that Blankenship was never in contact with the Gosselin children or any of the other TLC stars:

“At no time was this man ever in the field or in direct contact with any of the talent for any of our productions.”

Disgusting!

After 150 memorable episodes, TLC has announced the network plan to cancel Kate Gosselin‘s show Kate Plus 8, which follows the 36-year-old single mother as she raises her eight children with ex-husband Jon Gosselin.

In a statement, the network said:

“TLC has decided not to renew another season of Kate + 8. By the end of this season Kate + 8 will have hit the 150 episode mark (including Jon & Kate + 8), an exceptional milestone. TLC hopes to check in with Kate and the family periodically with specials in the future.”

Kate took to her Twitter Monday to break the news to her followers and fans:

“TLC canceled it. I’m sorry. We’ve had a great run! Six years of whirlwind fun-filled adventures. Thanks to TLC and our many, many supportive and diehard fans! While it is very sad for me and the kids (there were many tears at the breakfast table this morning!), we are we are looking forward with great anticipation to our bright future!”

“As is very typical for me, I am choosing to see the positive in this situation and I am excited to consider the many more invigorating opportunities that may come my way. I poured my entire self into the last six years of Kate + 8 and I can’t wait to have the chance to challenge myself again with future endeavors!”

She went on to add:

“In the meantime, I hope to have more time for motivational speaking, book writing and other fun work opportunities that come my way. And maybe even some dating? We wish our fans well. And remember, this is not ‘goodbye.’ I prefer to say ‘See you around!’”

Jon Gosselin, who was at the center of a public affair scandal with Kate, had his own idea about the show ending, saying that he was “very relieved” to hear the news:

“I hope that this will bring more privacy to my children and that they can get the proper attention they need for any personal issues they might have in the future.”

The last episode of Kate Plus 8 airs on September 12.

Kate’s partner Tony Dovolani, a true gentleman, praised Kate for her audacity. “I give her all the credit for showing up, as exhausted as she was, she still showed up every day,” he said. “You showed America that it doesn’t matter how much things go against you, you still come out here and give it your best.”
