“Celebrate,” a duet with Idol alum Jordin Sparks, was the last song recorded by legendary singer Whitney Houston before her tragic death. The song was produced by R. Kelly for the movie “Sparkle,” which is set to hit theaters on August 17, 2012 (listen to full audio below).

Jordin, who plays Whitney’s daughter in the movie, premiered the song on Ryan Seacrest’s KIIS FM radio show on Monday (May 21), a day after she took the stage to perform the classic “I Will Always Love You” during a tribute to Whitney at the 2012 Billboard Music Awards.

On the white carpet, Jordin, who was accompanied by her boyfriend Jason Derulo, confessed she had never sang the song before and felt the pressure of performing such an iconic song in front of Whitney’s family.

“I feel very honored to be able to honor Whitney in this way and to sing one of her songs. I’ve actually never performed this song before ever. It’s one of the songs I’ve always been like, ‘Leave that alone,’ so it’s nerve-racking for me,” Jordin admitted. “It’s a lot of pressure I’m putting on myself, because I want to do it amazingly, but at the same time, whatever happens, I just want to be able to speak through the music.”

No one can compare to Whitney, but Jordin did a pretty good job that left Whitney’s daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown in tears applauding the singer’s performance while sitting in the audience. It was a sweet and beautiful moment.

Before Jordin took the stage, John Legend opened the tribute to the legendary singer with his rendition of “The Greatest Love Of All” behind the piano. After the musical tribute, Whoopi Goldberg gave Bobbi Kristina the Billboard Millennium Award who accepted it on her mother’s behalf.

American Idol winner Jordin Sparks is the newest celebrity to launch her own fragrance. The singer, who is currently starring in the hit Broadway show In the Heights, has named her perfume Because of You. She said:

“When I was starting this project, I really wanted it to be affordable. I looked at some other celebrity fragrances, and they were like $80. Even now, I look at a fragrance that’s $80, and I can’t bring myself to spend that much. In this economy especially, my fans deserve a high-quality, reasonably priced scent.”

Because of You hits stores this week and will retail at an introductory price of $9.50 for 2.5oz bottle. On November 1st, the same bottle will jump to $14.95. Sparks said she wanted her “fruity floriental” scent to easily work for day or night. She also added that she has high hopes for creating other beauty lines starting with cosmetics and skin care.

American Idol Jordin Sparks is the latest celebrity to get a milk mustache and pose for a new advertising campaign for Body By Milk. The beautiful 19 year-old singer’s latest album is titled ‘Battlefield‘ (watch Jordin’s performance of ‘Battlefield’ on American Idol).

Jordan’s ad reads, “I’ve always had the power to wow an audience. But how do I get fired up to wow myself? I drink lowfat milk. Packed with protein and nutrients, milk gives me the energy to truly shine.”

Celebrities got another chance to shine at the first important red carpet event of the year, The 35th Annual People’s Choice Awards, and they all look sparkly and fabulous. Fox News is reporting that former American Idol winner Jordin Sparks is battling serious throat problems that could possibly even end her career.  Sparks had to cancel three shows this past week due to the problem.  The report says that Sparks may never sing again.

Hopefully these reports are exaggerated.  We wish Jordin a very quick and successful recovery.  She is a great talent and friend of Bumpshack.

American Idol winner Jordin Sparks has signed with Jive Records.  She will waste no time by having her first album out in early November.

Jordin Sparks has signed the record contract that comes with winning “American Idol”.  The bubbly 17-year-old inked a deal with Jive Records in conjunction with 19Recordings, the label managed by “Idol” creator Simon Fuller, it was announced Friday.

Her debut album is slated for release in November. She’ll offer a taste of the disc with her new single, “Tattoo,” to be released to radio stations Aug. 27.

Look for her debut album to sell between 2-4 million copies.

American Idol winner Jordin Sparks is making all of the talk show rounds in the after glow of her Goliath like smashing of Blake Lewis in the finale.
