VH1’s 14th Annual Critics’ Choice Awards happened last night at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium in Santa Monica, California. This event is a warm-up for the Oscars and normally who wins Best Picture of the year also takes home the Oscar - this year’s big winner was “Slumdog Millionaire”.
“The Dark Knight” won another award for Best Action Film. The Best Actress award was a tie between Meryl Streep (“Doubt”) and Anne Hathaway (“Rachel Getting Married”), while Sean Penn took the Critics’ Choice Award for Best Actor for his performance in the movie “Milk”. Finally Richard Gere was honored with the 2nd Annual Joel Siegel Award presented by one of my favorite actresses Diane Lane.
