Katie Rees has accepted a plea deal and agreed to pay fines for five misdemeanor traffic violations. Since she agreed to the deal the prosecutors dropped the resisting arrest charge.

Katherine N. “Katie” Rees, 23, a former Miss Nevada USA, avoided trial by pleading no contest to speeding, operating a motor vehicle without proof of insurance and driving with an expired registration, a suspended license and suspended registration.She agreed to pay up to $1,312 in fines.

Rees rose to fame back in 2006 when extremely racy photos (see here) ended up on the internet.  Rees lost her crown in the wake of the scandal.

Disgraced former Miss Nevada Katie Rees is enjoying her reign as Miss Sin City since losing her Miss Nevada USA title over alcohol, drugs and erotic girl-on-girl photos.

Katie lived large at the Bare Pool and Lounge at the Mirage in Las Vegas over the weekend, though in typical Rees fashion, she flaunted the rules of the hotspot — by leaving her top on. (Bare is a topless pool, and by “topless,” we don’t mean “open-air.”)

Elsewhere, she played a few hands — of poker — at the JET Nightclub Celebrity Poker Tournament, and was spotted with Vegas high-roller George Maloof, an owner of the Palms. And she ended her night at JET’s one-year anniversary party, sipping Grey Goose.

Katie also has been the host at a local casino emceeing a ‘fake orgasm’ contest. No word yet from Playboy or Penthouse on a Rees layout.

Miss Oklahoma Lauren Nelson won the 2007 Miss America pageant on Monday night. She is the second straight Miss Oklahoma to win the prestigious title. Miss America is the Playboy to Miss USA’s Penthouse/Hustler image.

Nelson was crowned by last year’s winner, Jennifer Berry. Nelson, a blonde who told judges she wishes she was taller, sang “You’ll Be In My Heart” in the talent competition and plans to promote protecting children online during her yearlong reign as Miss America.

“I watched Miss America as a little girl since I was 2 years old, and never in my wildest dreams did I ever think that I would be one of those girls on that stage, and never did I think that I would be Miss America,” she said afterward.

She gets a $50,000 (euro38,700) scholarship with the crown and stands to make thousands more in appearance fees.

The last state to win back-to-back titles was Mississippi, when Mary Ann Mobley crowned Lynda Mead as Miss America in 1960.

Congrats to Lauren and hopefully she can stay out of trouble unlike Miss USA Tara Conner and Miss Nevada Katie Rees have been able to do.
