Keira Knightley finally found a new leading man to take care of her heart. The 26 year-old actress has reportedly been dating 27 year-old James Righton, who plays keyboards for Klaxons, for more five weeks.

James and Keira made their first public appearance as a couple as they were caught kissing and making out at a park near his home in East London (picture below). The two lovebirds met through a mutual friend, Alexa Chung.

A friend of Knightley’s is quoted saying, “She’s extremely happy right now and really enjoying spending time with James. He’s a real rocker and a lovely guy with it and she likes that whole scene — lately she’s become far more rock and roll and has been hanging out with a really trendy crowd.”

“Keira’s really smitten with James but wants to just quietly get on with it and see what happens.”

The actress broke up with her longtime boyfriend Rupert Friend earlier this year, after more than five years together. Rupert and Keira met on the set of the 2005 version of “Pride And Prejudice” and they actually shared a home near Hyde Park in London when they decided to call it quits.

Actress Keira Knightley wore a very boring Rodarte lace sequin dress that probably came out of her grandma’s close at the 2011 Jameson Empire Film Awards held at the Grosvenor House in London, England on Sunday (March 27)- more pictures below.

The color beige is definitely not Keira’s color and the dress was extremely unflattering. The hair and makeup were not a mess too, which didn’t matter at all when she took the stage to receive the Empire Hero Award.

Keira celebrated her 26th birthday on Saturday, so she thanked Empire for one of the best birthday presents. She said, “It was my birthday yesterday, so I want to thank Empire for such a brilliant birthday present; to be made a hero on your 26th birthday is fantastic. I want to thank my agent, who’s here tonight. Also, I’m well up for a birthday snog, so please come and find me on table 14! Thank you!”

Yeah. You heard that right. Keira, who recently broke up with her boyfriend Rupert Friend, desperately wanted to get a birthday kiss (aka snog!) from one of the hot guys in the room.

Just months after buying a new home in France, Keira Knightley‘s relationship with Rupert Friend has ended.

The couple met on the set of Pride & Prejudice in 2005.

A source tells PEOPLE that the split happened a few months ago, and distance and career “were both considerations.” The source added:

“It was time for her to move on.”

Will Knightley, Keira’s father, told the Sun:

“They were together for quite a long time, and it is always hard breaking up. She’s focused on her work.”

Well, good for her! She’s only 25 afterall, and ‘there are plenty of fish in the sea!’

Actress Keira Knightley stars in a new campaign against domestic violence set to debut in theaters on April 6. In the two minute PSA directed by Joe Wright, Keira is violently beaten and kicked by a man. It seems like the Chris Brown and Rihanna’s abuse scandal made people talk about domestic violence and we hope it might lead abused women to get some help.

The “Atonement” star didn’t hesitate to volunteer for this campaign for Women’s Aid: “While domestic violence exists in every section of society we rarely hear about it. Domestic violence affects one in four women at some point in their lifetime and kills two women every week.”

Actress Keira Knightley has kissed many of Hollywood’s leading heart throbs in her  young acting career including actors Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom. However, she claims her current co-star James McAvoy, in Atonement, is the best kisser she has ever had on screen.

“James [McAvoy] is the best kisser ever!” a giggling Knightley, 22, said of her Atonement costar while sitting in romantic Venice.

Despite kissing Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom, Knightley – who is currently dating actor Rupert Friend – glanced at McAvoy and diplomatically dubbed him the best on the opening day of the Venice Film Festival.

Perhaps McAvoy is Knightley’s best on-screen kiss ever but I would bet more money that it is purely propaganda for their current movie.   Not exactly good press for the movie if she says, “Well James was pretty good, but damn that Johnny Depp about sunk my pirate ship”.
