Actress Marcia Cross, who is pregnant with twins, has been put on bed rest by her doctor.

She also said in December that she was not having problems with her pregnancy. “I haven’t had a thing,” she said, “I am absolutely, 100 percent fine.” But she admitted, “It’s hard to carry around all that weight. I wake up feeling like me and then I step on the ground and I’m like, whose body is that walking to the bathroom?”

Cross is expecting for the first time. She is 44 years old and stars on the ABC hit TV show Desperate Housewives.

On Sunday night’s episode of the ABC hit, Cross was decidedly starting to show, despite the best efforts of the director of photography, since Bree is not pregnant in the storyline.

Producers on the three-season-old Desperate Housewives, in which Cross, 44, stars as the perfectionist Bree Van De Kamp, have opted to move production to the actress’s Los Angeles home for two days at the end of this week, reports TV Guide’s.

A host of young Hollywood stars, apart from Paris and Nicole, have been linked to the role since the movie - which follows the lives of mega-rich oil barons and their families - was announced.

Other actresses linked to the role include Jessica Simpson, Lindsay Lohan, and Katie Cassidy.

If word on the street is correct John Travolta, Jennifer Lopez and Marcia Cross of Desperate Housewives will also star in the film.
