Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj only made it (barely) through one season as reality TV judges on American Idol. Both confirmed they won’t be returning to the show via Twitter.
Carey reTweeted a post from her reps that read, “W/ global success of “#Beautiful” (#1 in 30+ countries so far) @MariahCarey confirms world tour & says goodbye 2 Idol.”
Within minutes, Minaj had also announced her departure: “Thank you American Idol for a life changing experience! Wouldn’t trade it for the world! Time to focus on the Music!!! Mmmuuuaahhh!!!”
This news comes after weeks of speculation that the entire judges panel would be wiped out.
Previously, original judge Randy Jackson announced he would be leaving so he could keep ”focusing on my company … and other business ventures.”
