Michael Jordan, the greatest basketball player of all-time and a 6-time NBA Champion with the Chicago Bulls, is engaged to his longtime girlfriend-model Yvette Prieto according to Yahoo!

The NBA legend is reportedly engaged to longtime girlfriend and Cuban-born model Yvette Prieto. The couple has been dating for more than three years.

A Jordan spokeswoman first confirmed the news to WCNC in Charlotte, NC, that he popped the question on Christmas. Prieto is 32 years old, while Jordan is 48.

Jordan divorced his first wife, Juanita Jordan, five years ago to the day of his proposal to Yvette.  Jordan has two adult sons from his first marriage, Jeffrey Michael and Marcus James Jordan. Juanita took home $168 million from the divorce.

Jordan is the current owner of the Charlotte Bobcats. However, he has been known more for his partying since retiring than success as an NBA General Manager or owner.

Marcus Jordan, the 18 year-old son of the legendary Michael Jordan, is a college basketball player for the University of Central Florida who has been involved in a major controversy because of the shoes he wears in court.

The UCF allowed Marcus to wear his father’s Nike Air Jordan brand for the Knights’ basketball team this season but they have exclusive $1.9 million contract with adidas that requires all coaches and athletes to use the company’s shoes, apparel and game equipment.

“When I was being recruited, we talked about it,” said Marcus Jordan, who led Young to the 4A title last season. “They said they had talked to the adidas people and it wasn’t going to be a problem. I think everybody understands how big of a deal it is for my family.”

“It’s a level of importance with the Jordan Brand and my family,” he said. “It’s no disrespect to adidas. I have a high level of respect for adidas, but I’m going to be wearing Jordan shoes. I’m wearing the adidas uniform and all my other UCF gear is adidas, but the shoes are going to be Jordan Brand.”

The problem is adidas officials claim they never reached an agreement with UCF about Marcus’ shoes so this has strained their contractual relationship and will possibly complicated the current contract renewal negotiations.

NBA legend Michael Jordan delivered an emotional funny speech during his Hall of Fame induction ceremony at Springfield, Massachusetts on Friday (September 11). The 46 year-old had a long list of people to thank to including those who did not believe in him.

Michael’s HOF Speech included some “messages” to people who in some way or another made him a great competitor, a great player, possibly the greatest ever:

• The coach who cut him from the varsity as a North Carolina schoolboy.”I wanted to make sure you understood: You made a mistake, dude.”
• Isiah Thomas, who allegedly orchestrated a “freezeout” of Jordan in his first All-Star game. “I wanted to prove to you, Magic [Johnson], Larry [Bird], George [Gervin], everybody that I deserved [to be there] just as much as anybody else, and I hope over the period of my career I’ve done that without a doubt.”
• Knicks coach Jeff Van Gundy — Jordan called him Pat Riley’s “little guy” — who accused Jordan of “conning” players by acting friendly toward them, then attacking them in games. “I just so happen to be a friendly guy. I get along with everybody, but at the same time, when the light comes on, I’m as competitive as anybody you know.”
• The media who said Jordan, though a great player, would never win like Bird or Johnson. “I had to listen to all that, and that put so much wood on that fire that it kept me each and every day trying to get better as a basketball player.”
• Lastly, Utah’s Bryon Russell. Jordan recalled meeting Russell while he was retired and playing minor league baseball in 1994 — and with Sloan looking on in horror — told of how Russell insisted he could have covered him if Jordan was still playing. Russell later got two cracks at Jordan in the NBA finals, and he was the defender when Jordan hit the clinching shot to win the 1998 title.

Michael chose David Thompson to induct him and attended the ceremony with his beautiful girlfriend Yvette Prieto (photos), who was rumored to be pregnant but didn’t look pregnant to me.
