News is surfacing that Oz the Great and Powerful actress Michelle Williams and How I Met Your Mother actor Jason Segel have split after what seemed to be a happy year together.

The two, who kept their romance relatively private, were photographed together less than a month ago vacationing in Cancun with Williams’ best friend, actress Busy Phillipps.

Sources claim that Williams, who has a 7-year-old daughter named Matilda from her relationship with the late Heath Ledger, and Segel couldn’t cope with the distance; Williams lives in New York City, while Segel films his sitcom in Los Angeles.

The two were spotted strolling together after a meal at Frankie’s Spuntino in Brooklyn March 24. “He put his arm around her and made her laugh as they walked,” a witness said. “[They] seemed very relaxed.”

“They are smitten and very serious,” a source said of their new romance.

The day after they were spotted dining, Segel was seen playing outside with Williams’ 6-year-old daughter, Matilda.

On her character in Dawson’s Creek: “I wouldn’t say that that would be one of my first qualities as a human being—being sexy. And I think because my character on Dawson’s Creek was sexy…sexualized…sexual…I saw all the negative attention and connotations that can come along with that. And that those things can keep people from seeing you clearly.”

On her relationship with Heath Ledger: “Our initial meeting, the circumstances of how we first met, were cosmic or something. Yeah, a lot of things happened at once. It’s a bit like: We had a lot of things to do, because we didn’t have a lot of time, or something.”

Actor Ryan Gosling and his co-star Michelle Williams posed together for a very intimate, intense and sexy pictorial featured on the upcoming issue of W Magazine (October 2010). There’s no doubt these two have lots of chemistry.

Michelle and Ryan, who are currently promoting their new movie “Blue Valentine”, talk about their steamy sex scenes on screen and how they both dealt with it. Michelle just wanted to get over it since she felt exposed and confessed to having body issues when it comes to nude scenes.

On the other hand, Ryan was worried about giving us that raw perspective of real-life sex. As he said, sex is messy and that messiness was what they tried to capture in those intense moments on the set. They want to offer us one of those legendary sex scenes.

Michelle Williams:
On being naked on camera: “I have the usual self-loathing and body issues, and yet I seem to be naked in a lot of movies. It would be really nice if the pictures did not get posted online. But then maybe that’s a reason to do it: Just get naked, and who cares if it ends up on the Internet.”

On the raw sex scene with Ryan in Blue Valentine: “We did the sex scenes and it was toxic. Ryan and I stopped relating to each other as Ryan and Michelle. Those scenes took forever.”

On landing Dawson’s Creek: “I was so lucky to get Dawson’s. I was auditioning for pilots twice a day. You get used to the rhythm of rejection. But auditioning for pilots taught me to change my clothes really fast. To this day I can get in and out of my bra and panties faster than anyone.”

Ryan Gosling:
On his Canadian accent: “As a kid I decided that a Canadian accent doesn’t sound tough. I thought guys should sound like Marlon Brando. So now I have a phony accent that I can’t shake, so it’s not phony anymore. I’m going for the Madonna thing, the Lady Gaga thing, ‹a phony accent that becomes your trademark.”

On his interesting tattoos: “I like when they look bad, but no one will do bad tattoos. So I did one myself. That’s why it’s bad.”

On the raw sex scene with Michelle in Blue Valentine: “In real life sex is messy, and we wanted to get under that wonderful messiness.”

Michelle Williams was suppose to start filming Blue Valentine next month.  Production on the film has been delayed to give Williams time to grieve for Heath Ledger.

Filming on her next movie, Blue Valentine, has been postponed while she takes the time to grieve for Heath Ledger, her onetime fiancé and father of her child, the producers of the film confirmed Tuesday to E! News. 

Production was due to begin Feb. 25 but has been pushed back indefinitely.

Williams and Ledger broke up last August.  The two met and fell in love on the set of Brokeback Mountain.
