Movies: Speed Racer

Speed Racer - (PG) Born to race cars, Speed Racer is aggressive, instinctive and, most of all, fearless. His only real competition is the memory of the brother he idolized - the legendary Rex Racer, whose death in a race has left behind a legacy that Speed is driven to fulfill. Speed is loyal to the family racing business, led by his father, Pops Racer, the designer of Speed’s thundering Mach 5. When Speed turns down a lucrative and tempting offer from Royalton Industries, he not only infuriates the company’s maniacal owner but uncovers a terrible secret - some of the biggest races are being fixed by a handful of ruthless moguls who manipulate the top drivers to boost profits. If Speed won’t drive for Royalton, Royalton will see to it that the Mach 5 never crosses another finish line. The only way for Speed to save his family’s business and the sport he loves is to beat Royalton at his own game. With the support of his family and his loyal girlfriend, Trixie, Speed teams with his one-time rival - the mysterious Racer X - to win the race that had taken his brother’s life: the death-defying, cross-country rally known as The Crucible.

What Happens in Vegas - (PG-13) Two people discover they’ve gotten married following a night of debauchery in Vegas, with one of them winning a jackpot after playing the other’s quarter. The pair trys to undermine each other and get their hands on the money… falling in love along the way.

The Fall - (R) In Los Angeles, circa 1920’s, a little immigrant girl finds herself in a hospital recovering from a fall. She strikes up a friendship with a bedridden man who captivates her with a whimsical story that removes her far from the hospital doldrums into the exotic landscapes of her imagination. Making sure he keeps the girl interested in the story he interweaves her family and people she likes from the hospital into his tale.

Surfwise - (R) Like many American outsider-adventurers, Dorian “Doc” Paskowitz set out to realize a utopian dream. Abandoning a successful medical practice, he sought self-fulfillment by taking up the nomadic life of a surfer. But unlike other American searchers like Thoreau or Kerouac, Paskowitz took his wife and nine children along for the ride, all eleven of them living in a 24 foot camper. Together, they lived a life that would be unfathomable to most, but enviable to anyone who ever relinquished their dreams to a straight job. The Paskowitz Family proved that America may be running out of frontiers, but it hasn’t run out of frontiersmen.

Still Hot or Not - Corey Haim

Still Hot or Not - Corey Haim - Photo

Corey Haim is currently working on the film “Crank 2 - High Voltage“, which is rumored to be the reason for the mullet.

In February 2008, filming resumed in Vancouver for Lost Boys 2: The Tribe to include several scenes with Corey Haim reprising his role as Sam Emerson. Haim reversed his previous decision to not appear in this sequel.

I have to ask… is he still hot or not?

‘Iron Man’ Opens to Rave Reviews

Movies: Ironman

“Iron Man was one of the better super hero movies that have been filmed. It was very entertaining from start to finish. The action was very fun to watch.” - DeathSentenceFanForLife

“It is absolutely essential to stay through the credits of you are a true Iron Man fan, Marvel fan in general, or even non-fan just seeing a summer movie. It has possibly the coolest cameo with the biggest repercussions in the film world of Marvel Comics. It sets up huge opportunities for where they can go now. Definitely need a Captain America movie really soon to make their plans for future films near perfect.” - MichaelJByrd

“This movie is as good or better than the Spider Man movies. It was very entertaining without a single boring moment throughout. Downey is a great actor, and he excelled in this character. Bridges made a good antihero. I think all ages will be very entertained, so GO WATCH IT. You will not be disappointed.” - NathanJLloyd

“This movie had a great plot-line, superb casting, well done action scenes, and the character’s origin was constructed and easy to follow. As for the CGI, it is the most realistic looking work I have seen by far. Furthermore, Robert Downey Jr. has officially earned the title of “Come-Back Kidâ€?. It seems he should send a nice thank you to all involved in producing this movie since it must have been written with him in mind, and they should send him a nice thank you for pulling it off so effortlessly.” - JTCunDiff

“In that Robert’s career is gonna soar as high as Iron Man after this movie. Ladies and gentleman…this is a true Superhero Summer Blockbuster. I just saw an advanced screening of Iron Man, and well, i was very pleased. Although there’s not a lot of action in the film, it has adventure, humor and romance.” - Serichy

Son of Rambow - (PG-13) In 1980’s Britain, young Will Proudfoot is raised in isolation among The Brethren, a puritanical religious sect in which music and TV are strictly forbidden. When Will encounters his first movie, a pirated copy of “Rambo: First Blood,” his imagination is blown wide open. Now, Will sets out to join forces with the seemingly diabolical school bully, Lee Carter, to make their own action epic, devising wildly creative, on-the-fly stunts, not to mention equally elaborate schemes for creating a movie of total commitment and non-stop thrills while hiding out from The Brethren. When school popularity finally descends on Will and Lee in the form of, oui, the super-cool French exchange student, Didier Revol, their remarkable new friendship and precious film are pushed, quite literally, to the breaking point.

Katie Price to Star as Elvira: Mistress of the Dark

Katie Price to Star as Elvira: Mistress of the Dark - Photo

Katie Price is set to take on the role of Elvira Mistress of the Dark in a new Hollywood movie.

Producers of Elvira: Mistress of the Dark, a remake of the classic 1988 film, are keen for Price to star in the role made famous by American actress Cassandra Peterson.

“It’s a very good time to be British in Hollywood and you can’t fail to notice Jordan - she knows how to shine,” an insider told the Daily Star. “Cassandra Peterson has been in talks about a remake for some time but didn’t want to take on the role again herself, even thought she still appears as Elvira.

“Everyone was at a loss until they spotted Jordan on a gossip website. She just looks perfect and then they discovered she has a penchant for one-liners. She will have to lose the tan, though. And Cassandra’s Elvira worked because of the mixture of her dark image and her Valley Girl wit - so Kate will have to learn an American accent.”

I used to love watching Elvira — Katie will not even remotely measure up.

James Bond’s Aston Martin Accidently Crashes

James Bond’s Aston Martin Accidently Crashes - Photo

James Bond’s quarter-million-dollar Aston Martin took a bath in Italy’s Lake Garda yesterday when a stuntman drove the wheels off a cliff. The problem is… it wasn’t a stunt.

The car was reportedly the same Aston that was used in the last Bond flick, “Casino Royale,” and was the only one available for use in the new movie, “Quantum of Solace.” Meanwhile, the stuntman was quickly rescued and was not hurt. The next installment rolls out this fall.

I sold a manufactured house for a quarter-million dollars once — closed the deal while sitting at their dining room table. I can’t imagine that much money sitting at the bottom of a lake. Of course, I can’t imagine spending that much money on a car either.

Megan Fox Topless Girl on Girl Catfight

Megan Fox to Appear in Topless Catfight - Photo

Juno director Jason Reitman recently said that they’ve got “Megan Fox and Amanda Seyfried getting into a fight in their underwear” for Jennifer’s Body.

Reitman revealed even more yesterday on the Howard Stern show, saying that Fox (Transformers) will be appearing topless in a scene in which she has lured a guy into the woods with her. She’ll be wearing a skirt and apparently her hair will cover some parts.

Reitman is producing the horror-comedy, written by Juno scribe Diablo Cody. In the film, directed by Karyn Kusama, a gorgeous cheerleader (Fox) is possessed by a demon and starts feeding off the boys in a small Minnesota farming town.

In spite of Fox’s lack of acting skills, with her topless in the movie, it’s sure to be a hit.

Chaos Theory - (PG-13) Frank Allen, celebrated author of the bestseller The Five Minute Efficiency Trainer, has perfected the art of living via a foolproof system of timetables and index cards. In fact, his daily “to do” lists are legendary. A man known for playing it safe, Frank doesn’t believe in spontaneity. Every choice he makes is deliberately designed to contribute to a well-ordered, predictable life. But life, as he soon learns, never adheres to a strict schedule. Frank’s wife, Susan, and seven-year-old daughter, Jesse, find his obsession charming in small doses, but as a steady diet it can be very frustrating. One morning, Susan attempts to loosen her husband’s scheduling stranglehold by adding ten minutes to his day. But, by setting the clock backward instead of forward, she inadvertently unleashes a series of mishaps that turn his meticulously ordered life upside down. A belligerent ferryman, a ruthless seductress, a reluctant mother-to-be and the secret amor of his best friend, Buddy, combine to send his life into complete chaos. As his life unravels in several directions simultaneously, however, a stunning family revelation forces Frank to look fate squarely in the eye. Shaken to his core, he starts living entirely “in the moment,” allowing him to defy the conventions that have heretofore defined him. Those carefully coordinated index cards that had once kept his life in perfect order now become a deck of chance as Frank scribbles spontaneous ideas on random cards, shuffles, chooses and follows the luck of the draw–with unexpected results. Frank is about to discover that not even an efficiency expert armed with timetables and index cards can change the serendipitous nature of family and friendship, love and forgiveness.

Lindsay Lohan’s Next Movie, Stars as ‘Sex Addict’

As if BEING a sex addict in real life were not enough, Lindsay Lohan has accepted the role of a sex addict in a new film.

I wonder if she was the first name that popped in their heads?

Lindsay Lohan’s New ‘Sex Addict’ Role - Photo

Apparently Lohan didn’t get enough from her role in, “I Know Who Killed Me?”  She only won two razzies for worst actress in the SAME MOVIE! Being the masochist that she is, now she’s stripping down to play a sex-addicted waitress.

The movie will be titled “Florence“, and Lindsay will apparently earn a mere $75,000 for her part as the sex-crazed server.

A source says,

“She just wants to remind people she can act and she’s worth hiring.”?

Florence? I’ll tell you what comes to mind for me, Mel’s Diner – Alice and Flo were best friends and co-workers, Flo was the slutty one who chewed a lot of gum.

Lindsay will change it up a bit and chew Ariva.

Tom Cruise Movie ‘Valkyrie’ Destined to Bomb

Tom Cruise Stars in ‘Valkyrie’

Tom Cruise’s upcoming film Valkyrie is already being predicted to blow up and bomb in a major way according to entertainment insider Roger Friedman.  The film set to open this fall and is about a failed assassin of Adolf Hitler.

“Valkyrie,” in which he plays Col. Claus von Stauffenberg, the real-life would-be assassin of Adolf Hitler, with an eye patch, a withered limb and — according to the $100 million film’s trailer — a California accent reminiscent of Jerry Maguire.

“Valkyrie” is a set up for not only failure, but ridicule. Take for example this line of dialogue that is spoken to Cruise/Claus by one of his Nazi associates: “When the SS catches you they will pull you apart like warm bread.â€? (Translation: he’ll be toast.)The Valkyrie trailer already shows what a misguided idea this movie is. A description of the film’s story ends with the words “He Must Kill Hitler Himself.â€? Unless director Bryan Singer and writer Christopher McQuarrie have completely changed history, the actual story is not quite that: not only did von Stauffenberg botch the assassination plot, but then he was killed by Hitler.

Do you think Tom Cruise can be a big time successful movie star again or has his career jumped off the deep end of Oprah’s couch?

Watch the Trailer for Valkyrie

‘Valkyrie’ Movie Trailer

Here is the trailer for Tom Cruise’s upcoming film Valkyrie. It looks pretty bad and to be one of Cruise’s worst acting jobs. What do you think about it?
