Two people have been killed and at least 8 others were wounded in a shooting that began at about 11:30 am ET inside the Gateway Center, a high-rise office building in downtown Orlando, Florida, on Friday (November 6).

The victims were taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center. As for the shooter there is no information if he was killed or wounded but the police claims the situation is under control. This incident happened only a day after the Fort Hood massacre (read more details).

A 40 year-old man named Jason Rodriguez has been identified as the shooter (photo above).

A civilian police officer by the name of Kimberly Munley, who was stationed at the base, shot one of the Fort Hood shooters, Major Nadal Malik Hasan, four times, potentially saving dozens of lives, before getting hit by a bullet.

Sergeant Munley is currently receiving treatment for non-life-threatening injuries and comes out of as one of the heroes of the Ford Hood massacre [read more details]. The shooter identified as Major Hasan, an army psychiatrist due to be posted to Afghanistan, shouted “Allah akbar”, which in Arabic means “God is great” as he opened fire.

Hasan had argued with some of his comrades and was clearly against the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and had been trying to get out of the Army but he wasn’t known as a risk at the base.

Army Major Malik Nadal Hasan, who was an Army mental health professional, has been identified as one of the shooters involved in the Fort Hood massacre that killed at least 12 people and wounded other 31 on Thursday (November 5), according to BreakingNews.

One shooter was killed and two other suspects, who are also soldiers, have been apprehended, Lt. Gen. Robert W. Cone said.

President Obama said, “It is difficult enough to lose” soldiers overseas, but it is “horrifying that they should lose their lives at an Army base in the U.S..” Obama added, “my prayers are with the wounded and the families of the fallen.”

UPDATE: Malik Nadal Hasan Suspect In Fort Hood Shooting

Twelve people are dead and other 31 were wounded in a mass shooting at Fort Hood, which is one of the largest military complexes in the world, in Texas on Thursday (November 5) - watch videos below. There were at least two shooters, one in custody, another on the loose, and possibly a third one hiding in building 42006.

It is still unknown if the victims were all soldiers or if there are some civilians involved. The victims were taken to Metroplex Hospital on Fort Hood. There is no word yet on the identity of the shooters or the victims.

UPDATE: White House correspondent for Fox News, Major Garrett, is reporting that one of the shooters is a US soldier. Garrett tweeted, “The Ft. Hood shooter was US soldier. Obama will address tragedy in remarks at end of Tribal Nations Conference at Interior Dept.”

UPDATE 2: Obama called Ft. Hood shooting a “horrific outburst of violence.”

Three missing Dickinson State (ND) softball players have been found dead in a car.  The Jeep automobile was pulled from a pond on Wednesday in Dickinson, North Dakota.

The three bodies found inside were Ashley Neufeld, 21; Afton Williamson, 20; and Kyrstin Gemar, 22.

The sunken 1997 Jeep Cherokee was found sunken to the bottom of the 12-foot pond by a search plane flying above it.

The Dickinson State University students were believed to be in the white 1997 Jeep Cherokee with California plates when two of their friends received telephone calls before the lines went dead. Police described the first as a “very scratchy” call for help in which one of the women said they were near a lake and water.

Banyai said the 12-foot-deep pond where the women were found is on a farm northwest of Dickinson, a city of 16,000 people about 100 miles west of Bismarck and 60 miles east of the Montana state line. Vehicle tracks were found leading into the pond Tuesday afternoon, he said.

Local police have ruled out foul play so far.  A memorial service was scheduled to be held Tuesday night on the Dickson State campus.

A woman from Florida, Quinn Gray, is being accused of faking her own abduction and lying about being sexually assaulted during her captivity, which was reportedly a scheme orchestrated by her and her lover Jasmin Osmanovic to extort more than $50,000 from her husband Reid Gray (photos, mug shots and video below).

Quinn’s story was proven false during the police investigation. The manager of the hotel where Quinn was being held said she “didn’t seem to be in distress at all,” and a 90-minute audiotape captured the sounds of Gray and Jasmin “in the throes of passion, and then plotting the details of a fake kidnapping”.

Husband Reid is paying all the legal expenses, claiming that his wife is mentally unbalanced and Jasmin took advantage of her during one of her psychotic episodes. Reid is either a saint, blindly in love with this woman or he is hiding something because this whole story doesn’t make any sense. If your spouse was cheating on you and tried to extort money from you, would you be as understanding as Mr. Gray!?!

Attorney John O’Quinn, best known for cases that draw national attention against a breast implant manufacturer and the tobacco industry, has died in a car accident on Allen Parkway Thursday (October 29).

The 68 year-old attorney was inside a Chevorlet Suburban traveling westbound at a high rate of speed when it jumped the median and slammed into a large tree. It is still not clear if he was driving or the passenger. Another man was also killed in this accident.

A 43 year-old woman named Susan Finkelstein posted an ad on Craiglist in which she described herself as a “diehard Phillies fan — gorgeous tall buxom blonde — in desperate need of two World Series Tickets.” Susan was basically offering sex in exchange for World Series Tickets and she was ready to do absolutely everything to get them.

An undercover officer responded to the ad and met Susan, who offered to perform various sex acts in exchange for the tickets. The crazy Philadelphia Phillies fan was arrested and charged with prostitution, among other offenses, on Tuesday (October 27).

Former tennis champion Andre Agassi admits to have used crystal meth while he was playing back in 1997 in his new autobiography titled “Open: An Autobiography” to be released on November 9.

Sport Illustrated writer Richard Deitsch broke the news on Twitter [@richarddeitsch: Book excerpt from Andre Agassi in the forthcoming SI: He admits to taking crystal meth during his career.] but the tweet was later deleted.

Paul Bogaards, director of media relations at Knopf, a division of Random House, confirmed the news: “Those excerpts contain revelations about Andre’s use of crystal meth when he was a tennis player”. The official publisher’s description of the book does not mention Agassi’s struggle with drugs.

Agassi did not win any major tournament in 1997 but he won the Olympic gold medal in the 1996 Atlanta Games and the French Open and US Open in 1999. The 39 year-old is currently married to former Grand Slam champion Steffi Graf with whom he has two children.

Agassi goes on in the book to tell of how he failed a drug test in 1997 and lied in a letter he wrote to the ATP stating that he mistakenly ingested the drug from a spiked soda.  The ATP discharged the positive test and the incident never came to light until now.

Andre must be desperate to sell books or need some cash because he should have kept this unknown confession buried back in 1997.

The 21 year-old John William Lomax III has been arrested and charged with the murder of UConn student and athlete Jasper Howard, who was brutally stabbed to death during a fight after an on-campus dance on Sunday, October 18. Jasper Howard’s girlfriend is expecting his baby (photos).

Lomax, who is not a student at UConn, was just out ‘partying’ and tried to break the fight, according to his lawyer. His bail was set at $2 million. Hakim Muhammad was also charged with conspiracy to commit assault and Jamal Todd with a felony charge of falsely reporting an incident and a misdemeanor charge of reckless endangerment for pulling the fire alarm that emptied the dance early, which consequently triggered the fight.

A 15 year-old Richmond High School student was gang raped by at least four different individuals while a crowd of 15 people, all males, watched for more than two hours as the annual homecoming dance was under way inside the school in San Francisco, California, on Saturday (October 24).

“Based on witness statements and suspect statements, and also physical evidence, we know that she was raped by at least four suspects committing multiple sex acts,” said Lt. Mark Gagan of the police department in Richmond, California.

“As people announced over time that this was going on, more people came to see, and some actually participated,” Gagan said. “We have checked Facebook and YouTube to try to find any revealing evidence. We’re looking in particular to see if anyone posted any video of the incident.”

“This just gets worse and worse the more you dig into it,” Gagan said. “It was like a horror movie after looking at the evidence. I can’t believe not one person felt compelled to help her.”

The female student, who was found unconscious and “brutally assaulted” under a bench, was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Two suspects, 19 year-old former student Manuel Ortega and a 15 year-old, have been arrested and a third is being questioned.

Steve Phillips was fired from ESPN and his mistress Brooke Hundley also got the boot today. “Brooke Hundley is no longer working here,” said ESPN spokesman Josh Krulewitz. “She was fired today.”

The ESPN analyst is still trying to save his marriage and has checked into rehab on Monday (October 26). “This was planned in advance. It has nothing to do with him getting fired,” agent Steve Lefkowitz said of the rehab. “He’s trying to save his marriage.”

Steve’s wife Marni Phillips doesn’t seem to be ready to forgive Steve and is probably pushing him to press charges against the crazy ESPN assistant who wrote her a creepy letter, stalked her family and later filed a restraining order against her husband.

Steve Phillips, who started working for ESPN back in 2004, released a statement to announce he would take a long leave of absence to solve his personal issues but it seems like ESPN doesn’t want him anymore. Phillips’ ability to work as an effective analyst was “significantly and irreparably damaged,” said ESPN spokesman Josh Krulewitz.

ESPN executive Vice Presidents Kate Lacey (for marketing) and David Berson (for programming) have been reportedly having a torrid office affair for quite some time. Steve Phillips is not the only one doing the dirty at the ESPN headquarters (read more details on Phillips and Brooke Hundley’s affair).

David, who has been nominated the 73rd most powerful man in sports, divorced his wife Jane Berson in March but his relationship with Kate is rumored to be at least a couple years old. It has been said, ESPN is “not really against work relationships because [the headquarters is] so in the middle of nowhere.” That is one of the best excuses ever!

Richard Ramirez, a serial killer awaiting execution on California’s death row at San Quentin State Prison, best known as ‘The Night Stalker’ is now a suspect in the murder of a 9 year-old girl named Mei Leung. Richard was convicted and sentenced to death in 1989 for 13 murders committed in 1984 and 1985 in Southern California.

Mei Leung was found murdered in the basement of a residential hotel at 765 O’Farrell St., where she lived with her family, after walking home with her 8-year-old brother from a friend’s house back in 1984 (it is possibly Richard’s first murder). This cold case was taken out of shelve due to new DNA evidence that linked Richard to the crime scene.

There are no details about how Mei was killed but police will continue to investigate this murder and several other homicides that occurred in that area around the same time. Richard, who is not 49 years old, has not been charged in the Mei Leung case yet.

ESPN assistant Brooke Hundley filed for a restraining order against Steve Phillips, with whom she had ‘frequent’ sexual encounters in parking lots, just a day after leaving his wife, Marni Phillips, a letter describing their affair and claiming they were meant to be together.

In the papers filed on August 20, Broke claimed, Steve “bought me a strong drink and then cornered me … trying to persuade me to come to his hotel suite to spend the night,” (…) then “after the night he continued to text me on a regular basis with inappropriate things.” Brooke says she “tried to get him to stop” but again agreed to meet up with him “a few times after work in the parking lot.”

The 22 year-old assistant also said that when word of their affair got out, Steve started calling her a “slut” and threatened to get her fired if she told anything to his wife. However, the complaint was dropped on September 15! This story is just getting interesting… we wonder how Steve is going to fix all this mess that has clearly deeply affected his family and put their safety in jeopardy.

Steve Phillips’ wife Marni Phillips frantically called the cops when she found that her husband’s ex-mistress, ESPN assistant Brooke Hundley, was in the family’s driveway on August 19 (audio below).

Marni later told police that Brooke freaked out when she saw Marni, and “got in her car, put it in reverse and smashed the rear end of her vehicle into the stone column … cut across our grass, avoiding the driveway completely, driving erratically over rocks and mulch beds to maneuver her vehicle down our hill.”

Steve has not press charges against Brooke but released a statement to announce he would be taking an extended leave of absence to take care of the matter and his family.

Phillips said: “I am deeply sorry that I have put my family and colleagues through this. It is a personal matter that I will not comment on further. I have, however, asked for a leave of absence to address this with my family and to avoid any unnecessary distractions through the balance of the baseball playoffs.”

ESPN released the following statement: “We were aware of this and took appropriate disciplinary action at the time. We have granted Steve’s request for an extended leave of absence to allow him to address it. We have no further comment.”
