Connecticut elementary teacher Marie Jarry was fired from her teaching job after her and her rotund husband competed in a contest on The Howard Stern Show in which a photo of her in a bikini appeared on Stern’s website.
Last week, The Howard Stern Show held an “Ugliest Guy, Hottest Wife” contest in which three couples competed for a $5,000 prize. Connecticut school teacher Marie Jarry (and her worse half) took home the loot, only days later to find herself fired from her job after a picture of her in a bikini (above) was posted on Stern’s website.
“Because of the nature of the show, the board was concerned,” said one parent of a Thalberg Elementary student.
I have to agree with the school board on this one. It might be different if she was a high school or college teacher. That toppled with the fact that it was Howard Stern’s show is probably enough to can her. It is easier to fire her than deal with the uproar at the PTA meeting.

Representative Vito J. Fossella from New York revealed today that he has a 3-year-old daughter with former Air Force lieutenant colonel Laura Fay.
The prospect that Mr. Fossella could face a mandatory jail sentence if convicted had already threatened to bring to an end his decade-long career in the House, where Mr. Fossella is the only Republican representing New York City. The Daily News has reported that Mr. Fossella called Ms. Fay for help after his arrest and told officers that he was on his way to Grimm Street, where Ms. Fay lives, to visit a sick daughter.
Fossella was arrested on May 1st for driving while intoxicated in Alexandria, Virginia.
Sadly it took the overdose death of 19-year-old Shirley ‘Jenny’ Poliakoff, a student at San Diego State University, to lead to the massive drug bust at SDSU; that included the arrest of 96 students, gang members, and closed down six fraternities on campus.
San Diego State 2006 graduate Nate Poliakoff, whose 19-year-old sister Jenny died a year ago from a lethal combination of cocaine and alcohol, is happy that there is a silver lining to the tragedy.“The biggest thing is that I’m glad something came of it,” the 25-year-old soon-to-be law student said in an interview with FOXNews.com. “After her death, we didn’t know there was an investigation going on, but I’m glad that the administration stepped up to the plate and said, we’re not going to tolerate this.”
Her family members were led to believe that she was your normal party girl college student.
Jenny, whose full name is Shirley Poliakoff, was a member of the Alpha Phi sorority. Her brother, Nate — who organized a benefit in her name last weekend called Jenny’s Walk — said he didn’t think she was an avid drug user.
“She was in a sorority going out partying,” he said. “She wasn’t some crazy drug girl or anything of that sort.”
Large amounts of cocaine, guns, and other drugs were confiscated during the raid. The six fraternities that have been Theta Chi, Lambda Chi Alpha, Phi Kappa Psi, Phi Kappa Theta, Sigma Alpha Epsilon and Sigma Alpha Mu.

Shareholders 
of Yahoo! (YHOO) stock are likely to lose a high percentage of their investment later today when the markets open. YHOO stock closed Friday at $28.67/share.
The stock had risen $9.49 over the past month due to Microsoft’s (MSFT) bid to buy the company for $30+ a share. Reports indicate that MSFT offered $33/share Saturday to Yahoo! CEO Jerry Yang. Yang turned down the offer and countered with $37 bucks a share. Microsoft wisely walked away from the table, ending negotiations in the process.
So Yahoo! shareholders and experts alike agree that the stock is set to get hammered today. It could fall up to 33% according to some pundits. Some predict it will drop all the way back to $19.18/share.
I believe it will lose a couple bucks a share tomorrow but not lose all of its gains since Microsoft approached Yang. A lot of investors will panic and dump the stock tomorrow, but many wise investors will snap up the discounted shares thinking that the MSFT-YHOO dance is not over just yet.

Convicted D.C. Madam Deborah Jean Palfrey has committed suicide and taken her life. Her body was found in Tarpon Spings, Florida, inside of her mother’s home. . A suicide note was found with Palfrey’s intention to take her life.
“It was her, and she’s deceased,” Frank Ruggiero, a public information officer with the Tarpon Springs Police Department, told FOXNews.com. “There’s no question that it was a suicide.”
Palfrey apparently hanged herself with a nylon rope that she wrapped around a metal beam in a shed on the property, according to police. Suicide notes were found inside the mobile home, but their contents were not disclosed.
Authorities said her 76-year-old mother, Blanche Palfrey, positively identified the dead woman as her daughter.
A reporter for Time magazine is claiming that Palfrey told him she would commit suicide before going to prison
“She wasn’t going to jail, she told me that very clearly. She told me she would commit suicide,” author Dan Moldea told TIME soon after news broke of her body being found in Tarpon Springs, Florida, an apparent suicide.
Deborah had stated boldly that she was stronger than one of her employees who committed suicide before going to trial.
Palfrey told the press, “I guess I’m made of something that Brandy Britton wasn’t made of.”
Palfrey was found guilty last month of money laundering, racketeering, and using the mail for illegal purposes.
Three New York City cops have been acquitted of killing Sean Bell on what would have been his wedding day. Detectives Gescard Isnora, Michael Oliver and Marc Cooper put 50 bullets into Bell in the early hours of the morning outside of a Queens strip club called the Kalua Cabaret.
Bell had run into one of the cops with his car after the officer had told him to raise his hands. The detectives believed Bell and his friends were going back to their car to retrieve a gun to shoot some clubbers they had gotten into a dispute with.
Detectives Gescard Isnora, 29, and Michael Oliver, 36, faced up to 25 years behind bars for manslaughter charges, while Det. Marc Cooper, 40, faced a year in jail on reckless endangerment charges.
“Murderers! Murderers!” many in the crowd shouted as the officers exited the building. Others chanted “PBA, PBA, KKK! KKK!” while some circled in an orderly protest in front of the court house.
“We’re grateful that this court ruled on the evidence presented in this case, but in this case there are no winners or losers, we still have to live with a death.” Patrick J. Lynch, President of the New York City Police Officer’s Benevolent Association, said in a statement to the media outside the courthouse.
Bell’s fiancee Nicole Paultre stormed out of the court room upon hearing the verdict. Protests took place outside the Queens courtroom after the ruling by Judge Arthur Cooperman.

And that’s the Church’s attitude: ‘We’re here, we’re queer, get used to it,’ which is fine, far be it from me to criticize religion.
But just remember one thing: if the Pope was — instead of a religious figure — merely the CEO of a nationwide chain of day care centers, where thousands of employees had been caught molesting kids and then covering it up, he’d be arrested faster than you can say ‘who wants to touch Mr. Wiggle?’
Maher goes way too far in his comments but he is not totally off base with them. Don’t get me wrong, Maher is a first-class jerk who is a very angry man that was probably molested himself as a little boy.

A 5.2 magnitude earthquake struck parts of Illinois, Indiana and Kentucky early this morning. The epicenter of the quake was near Evansville, Indiana and could be felt in Chicago, St. Louis and down to Louisville, Kentucky as well.
There were few reports of damage immediately after the predawn quake, which struck at 4:36 a.m. (5:36 a.m. ET), but CNN affiliate WHAS-TV in Louisville, Kentucky, showed footage of rubble left in a street after a cornice fell off a brick building there.
The epicenter of the earthquake was about three miles below ground, six miles northwest of Mount Carmel, Illinois, and 38 miles north-northwest of Evansville, Indiana, according to the USGS.
It seems no matter what part of the world you live in that you will be open to some form of a natural disaster.
This quake registered on the richter scale between a 5.2 and 5.4 magnitude earthquake.
D.C. Madam Deborah Jeane Palfrey who had been charged with running a Washington, D.C., prostitution ring was found guilty on Tuesday for money laundering, racketeering, and using the mail for illegal purposes according to Fox News.
She was convicted on all counts she faced: Money laundering, using the mail for illegal purposes and racketeering. The jury deliberated for seven hours on Monday and Tuesday.
The weeklong trial in U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia included the testimony of 13 former escorts, most of whom said that Palfrey was careful not to talk about prostitution explicitly. But the women said they often discussed the subject with Palfrey in veiled terms.

More and more details are coming out about D.C. Madam Deborah Palfrey and the escort service she was running for some of D.C’s elitist men and politicians.
Rebecca Dickinson, who was a call girl for Palfrey, testified in court this morning that Palfrey never discussed having sex with their clients, but that it was simply implied. Dickinson is a Lt. Commander in the U.S. Navy and is likely to lose her job and pension depending upon what all details come out.
Clients would pay Dickinson $275 for sex. She would keep $130 and give $145 to Palfrey. A rather bad deal if you ask me. Dickinson came to the same conclusion and eventually quit when she couldn’t keep up with demand.
So she was giving 53% to her madam and then having to pay taxes to the U.S. government. I guess that was kind of a build in discount for the Congressman banging her. After paying taxes she was basically giving it up for free.
Eliot Spitzer call girl Ashley Alexandra Dupre was at least pulling down $4k an hour for throwing her legs over her shoulders.
The hottest political news of the day didn’t involve the 2008 Presidential campaign but the reflected image seen on Dick Cheney’s sunglasses in a photo taken during a recent fly-fishing trip in Idaho. The photo above seems to show a naked woman, perhaps a stripper, in the reflection of Cheney’s sunglasses. The photo was on the official White House website.
The internet is filmed with such professional photoshop artists that even Leonardo da Vinci and Michaelangelo would be proud of their work. I believe the reflection is an altered image. If it is in fact a real naked woman in the reflection then I am signing up for Dick’s next fly-fishing trip. I guess when you fish with strippers it truly is FLY FISHING.

Two-year-old toddler Darisabel Baez was beat to death by her mom’s boyfriend on Sunday according to police. The girl’s mom, Neida E. Baez, has been charged along with the boyfriend for failing to stop or prevent the killing. The boyfriend, Harve Johnson, has been charged with aggravated assault, reckless endangerment but no murder or homicide charges yet.
The girl’s mother, Neida E. Baez, 19, called for an ambulance Sunday saying her boyfriend, Harve L. Johnson, had brought the unconscious child to her, limp and wet from an attempt to revive her in a bathtub, a police affidavit said.
Johnson acknowledged beating the girl with a video game controller but did not say why, police said. Baez said Johnson had abused the girl in the past and said she heard the girl scream after Johnson beat her Sunday, according to the affidavit.
What a low life one must be to beat up a 2-year-old with a video game controller. The little girl probably just wanted to be fed and the scumbag dude couldn’t take time to pause his ‘Halo 3′ game and give the child the attention and love she needed. The penalty and justice should be tripled when you do it to a helpless child or baby.
Sara Jane Olson, better known as criminal Kathleen Soliah, was released from prison in Chowchilla, California, today. She had avoided police and authorities for nearly a quarter of a century after bombing two Los Angeles police cars in 1975.
She is a former Symbionese Liberation Army member who eventually became their leader.
For almost 24 years, Olson was one of the nation’s most sought-after fugitives - she disappeared in 1975, the same year two Los Angeles police cars were bombed. She changed her name from Kathleen Soliah and, over the years, lived as a mild-mannered Midwestern housewife. She married a Minnesota physician and became a celebrated cook and soccer mom in the St. Paul area.
She was captured in June 1999 on charges of planting the police car bombs. She subsequently pleaded guilty to attempted murder charges for the attempted car bombings. In 2004, a Sacramento judge vacated the 14-year sentence for the car bombs given to Olson after ruling that the state Board of Prison Terms did not independently review her case upon sentencing her in 2002 for the bombings. After a review, her sentence was reduced by one year.
She had also been serving time for the murder of a woman that took place during a bank robbery the SLA pulled off in 1975.
It is disturbing that Olson was freed after being sentenced for murder and attempted murder charges.

The photo was taken during a September 1998 prayer breakfast Clinton held for religious leaders from across the country in the wake of the Monica Lewinsky scandal.
The response from Hillary Clinton’s camp cracked me up and summed up my own thoughts on Barack sending the photo in to the Times.

Vicki Van Meter, who rose to fame in the early 90’s for being the youngest pilot to ever fly across the United States, has died of an apparent suicide from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Van Meter made national headlines in 1993 and 1994 when she made her cross-country and trans-Atlantic flights accompanied only by a flight instructor. Her instructors said she was at the controls during the entirety of both flights.
Van Meter had been battling depression and refused to take her medications according to published reports.
She flew across the United States when she was 11-years-old and across the Atlantic Ocean when she was 12-years-old.
The Detroit City Council has voted 7-1 for controversial mayor, Kwame Kilpatrick, to resign from office. The council has no power so the vote is merely a suggestion of sorts.
Mayor Kilpatrick has been in hot water for lying under oath about 14,000 sexual text messages he exchanged with his chief of staff Christine Beatty over the course of a year. Kwame is for sure a ladies man as he proved a few weeks ago with Carmen Slowsky.

Kwame has not hinted at resigning at office and likely won’t.

Of course, the answer to the slavery question was already embedded within our Constitution - a Constitution that had at is very core the ideal of equal citizenship under the law; a Constitution that promised its people liberty, and justice, and a union that could be and should be perfected over time.
