Former cheerleader Kelli Finglass, who currently is the Dallas Cheerleaders director, is looking for girls for her new 2009-2010 Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders squad. The girls have to have a nice body, know how to dance but they must be smart too because they will have to pass a personal interview and a written test of more than 80 questions.

Kelli is considered the mastermind behind the Cowboys cheerleaders’ success. Kelli was a member of the cheerleader squad from 1984 to 1989. After retiring she became an assistant director to the cheerleaders and was finally promoted to director of the cheerleaders in 1991.

NFL player Michael Vick, who was convicted for running a dogfighting ring operating that involved torture and execution of dogs for more than five years, was released from jail today (May 20).

Michael served nineteen months in a Kansas prison and is expected to served another painful two months of his sentence in home confinement at his fancy house in Hampton, Virginia. His fiancé Kijafa Frink, who has stood by her man, was there to pick him up and take him home.

Former NFL player/Jacksonville Jaguars legend Jimmy Smith was arrested on multiple drug charges, which include felony possession of cocaine, possession of 20 grams or less of marijuana and “felony possession/sell of a controlled substance,” yesterday.

Former Chicago Bears star William “The Refrigerator” Perry was hospitalized due to complications related to an immune disease known as the Guillain-Barre syndrome in South Carolina about a week ago. Perry earned his nickname, commonly shortened to The Fridge, for his enormous size, well over 300 pounds.

Guillain-Barre syndrome is an uncommon inflammatory disorder in which the body’s immune system attacks its nerves, typically causing severe weakness that usually starts in the legs and quickly worsens.

The 46 year-old Bears defensive lineman was diagnosed with this syndrome last June and has spent more than five months in the hospital. Perry’s nephew, Purnell Perry said his uncle is expected to make a full recovery.

Hall-of-Fame NFL TV announcer John Madden is retiring after 30 years in the announcing booth.  Madden stated that he simply wants to spend more time with his wife and family.

Madden said his health is fine, but at the age of 73, he wanted to spend more time with his family. His 50th wedding anniversary is this fall, and his five grandchildren are old enough to notice when he’s gone.

“If you hated part of it or if something was wrong, it’d be easy,” Madden said.

Madden’s blue-collar style and love for in-the-trenches football endeared him to fans. His “Madden NFL Football” is the top-selling sports video game of all time.

He coached the Oakland Raiders and led them to their first Super Bowl title back in the 70’s.  Madden will be replaced on NBC by the popular Cris Collinsworth.

Harry Kalas, the legendary play-by-play announcer for the Philadelphia Phillies since 1971, has passed away at the age of 73.  Before that, Kalas, was an announcer for the Houston Astros.

Kalas was best known for his “Outta Here!” call and also for being the voice of NFL Films since it’s inception.  One would also recognize his voice from the NFL Chunky Soup commercials.

Kim Kardashian and her NFL boyfriend Reggie Bush posed for the first time in a sexy, intimate joined photo shoot for GQ Magazine (April 2009). The photos are absolutely sexy, glamorous and romantic which made Kim really happy.

ESPN’s John Clayton is reporting that the Buffalo Bills have signed disruptive wide receiver Terrell Owens to a one year contract.

Buffalo will pay Owens $6.5 million dollars for the 2009 season.  T.O. would then become a free agent once again.  The Bills become Owens fourth NFL team.  He has played for the 49ers, Eagles, and Cowboys.  He has had a nasty split from each team.

Owens was cut by the Cowboys on Thursday with two years remaining on his contract.  He received a $12 million dollar signing bonus when he signed the deal before last season.

The Bills have called a press conference for 6:15pm tomorrow night.

Super Bowl XLIII starts today at 6:28 EST / 5:28 CST / 4:28 MST / 3:28 PST between the Arizona Cardinals and Pittsburgh Steelers from Tampa Bay, Florida.  The game airs on NBC with the pre-game starting about two days ago.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the NFL have fired head coach Jon Gruden after seven seasons and one Super Bowl victory.  GM Bruce Allen was also relieved of his duties.

“We will be forever grateful to Jon for bringing us the Super Bowl title, and we thank Bruce for his contributions to our franchise,” Buccaneers co-chairman Joel Glazer said in a statement. “However after careful consideration, we feel that this decision is in the best interest of our organization moving forward.”

A source close to Gruden said the coach was “blindsided” by the move, ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reported.

Expect Gruden to land on his feet though.  He has a Super Bowl victory under his belt and the Bucs have made horrible head coach firings in the past.  The most notably being the firing of Tony Dungy who went on to lead the Colts to a Super Bowl victory and consistant deep drives into the playoffs before retiring last week.

Indianapolis Colts quaterback Peyton Manning was named the NFL MVP on Friday for the third time in his Hall-of-Fame bound career.   Manning led the Colts to wins in their last nine games of the regular season.

The award meant more than the previous two MVP’s according to Manning:

“It’s been the most rewarding regular season that I’ve been a part of in my 11 years, and I have to believe a lot of the other players and even coaches might feel the same way.”

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and Victoria’s Secret model Gisele Bundchen are engaged to be married according to E!.  Brady popped the question while aboard a jet (the airplane not a member of the NY Jets) to Boston.

E! News has confirmed that the benched New England Patriot popped the question to supermodel girlfriend Gisele Bündchen and she accepted.

On Christmas Eve, the gorgeous exes of Leonardo DiCaprio and Bridget Moynahan (with whom the QB has a child) hopped on a private jet from New Jersey’s Teterboro Airport to Boston. Also on board were four dozen white roses, champagne and the bride-to-be’s parents.

I guess Brady was so bored with his injury and missed time away from the football field that he did the inevitible and popped the big question to Gisele.

They have yet to announce a wedding date.

Giants fan Sondra Fortunato got thrown out of last night’s New York Giants - Dallas Cowboys game because she was just a bit too slutty revealing.  Fortunato arrived at the game wearing a bikini bottom, Santa jacket, hooker boots, bra, fishnet stockings and tiara. She was asked to leave by Giants team officials.

“They said, ‘Can’t you come to the stadium dressed like a regular person?’ ” she said. “They said there were a lot of kids there.”

She was advised to wear a sweater to games.

Sondra believes she came as her regular dressed self, as a middle-aged woman she believes she looks good and she wants to show it off.

“I love the Giants! I’m a flamboyant dresser and I’m well-endowed,” Sondra told me.

“Look, I’m a middle-aged woman, I really don’t like to give my age - say I’m middle-aged. But Madonna goes out and she’s got everything hanging out, and she’s middle-aged!”

Fortunato was about the best part of the game last night for the Giants as they lost to the Cowboys 20-8.

New York Giants wide receiver Plaxico Burress, in a true-to-life Barney Fife moment, shot himself accidentally in the leg while clubbing at the Latin Quarter nightclub in NYC.

The incident happened at the Latin Quarter nightclub on Manhattan’s East Side. The club is a sprawling 15,000-square foot, two-story restaurant and club located in the Radisson Lexington Hotel. Katia Laine, a manager at the hotel, told The Associated Press that police officers had been to the club.

Burress went to the Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan, where he stayed overnight. He was released from the hospital Saturday afternoon.

A league official told Paolantonio the bullet went through the skin and muscle tissue of Burress’ right thigh, and did not hit any major arteries, and there were no broken bones.

Plaxico has been a bit of trouble throughout his career and especially since the Giants wont the Super Bowl back in January against the New England Patriots.

He had a great year last year and got a new contract for his play.  He has been suspended and injured throughout most of this season.  Now he can add shooting himself in the foot (leg) to the growing list.

The shooting will for sure go down as one of the dumbest jock moves of all-time.

Sports reporter Danyelle Sargent is starting to have a gaffe reel nearly as long as vice presidential candidate Joe Biden. Her latest incident involved her asking current San Francisco 49ers coach Mike Singletary about a phone call he received upon getting the job as head coach.

The video has been removed but here is what took place:

“I heard that your mentor Bill Walsh was one of the first phone calls that you made when you found out that you had the job. What does it mean to you to be the head coach of the 49ers?�?

Who spotted the issue?  Oh yeah Bill Walsh, the legendary coach, passed away in July of 2007.  She was informed through her ear piece of her mistake and the
video never aired, but it was left available online and she now has some new fame to deal with.

Sargent first rose to gaffe stardom a few years back on ESPN where she said a four letter word on top of a highlight clip.

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has spoken and as expected has suspended Dallas Cowboys cornerback Pacman Jones indefinitely. The suspension will last at least four games.

Dallas Cowboys cornerback Adam “Pacman” Jones has been suspended for at least four games for his most recent violation of the league’s personal conduct policy, the NFL announced Tuesday.

The league said Jones was involved in an alcohol-related incident at a Dallas hotel on Oct. 8. Previous reports indicated Jones was involved in an alcohol-related scuffle with a bodyguard assigned to him by the Cowboys, and that hotel employees called the police.

Jones will not be paid during the suspension. Commissioner Roger Goodell will determine the ultimate length of Jones’ suspension after Dallas’ Week 11 game against Washington on Nov. 16.

Anyone that can’t behave for two months in return for millions of dollars should be banned from the NFL for life.  If Goodell doesn’t do it now then he will the next time Jones acts the fool (which will happen).

Hall-of-fame NFL quarterback John Elway is engaged to wed former Oakland Raiders cheerleader Paige Green.  Elway proposed to Green last week in Italy.

The 48-year-old Elway was previously married to Janet Elway for 18 years. They have four children.

According to The Denver Post, Elway and Green met three years ago at a golf tournament in Los Angeles.

In a recent interview, Green talked about the couple’s first date.

I still thought John was married to Janet until I came across this story just now.  Congrats to John and Paige!  Hopefully John’s attorney has already crafted a very thorough pre-nup.

Hugh Hefner’s terrific threesome is continuing to cheat on him.  The latest to spread her legs wings is San Diego native Kendra Wilkinson who is dating NFL wide receiver Hank Baskett according to Perez.

In a MySpace discovery reminiscent of middle school, it seems that Hef’s sportiest girlfriend, Kendra Wilkenson, might be cheating on him with Philly Eagles receiver Hank Baskett.

On her public MySpace page Kendra lists “HB3″ (Hank is actually Hank Baskett III - very proper) as one of her heroes while Hank’s private profile headlines, “HB3 in LOOOOOVVVVEEEE!!!!”

Additionally, Kendra and the NFL-er were spotted recently at a romantical dinner at Redstone in Philly.

Kendra on The Girl’s Next Door is always claiming to be a huge NFL and San Diego Chargers fan.  But women will always claim to love sports and football to nab a guy.  Very few actually enjoy it!

Hank has had several big catches this year but non bigger than Kendra.
