Ted Johnson, is a former NFL linebacker, who obviously took one too many hits to the head during his career with the New England Patriots and other teams.

Because on Houston radio earlier today, Johnson was asked who had the ugliest wife in the NFL and he responded,

“You know what, I’ve got it,” Johnson said on CBS Houston when a caller asked him to identify the player with the least attractive wife (audio here). “And this is a big, big man. This guy had his way with the Texans this year. He won’t hear this —Vince Wilfork.”

First, Johnson should have never answered the question. Secondly, he should have never said that 325-lb man had the ugliest wife in the NFL. Thirdly, if he was dumb enough to answer then he should have been smart enough to respond with some kicker or punter’s wife.

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder has confirmed that he is dating ESPN sideline reporter Samantha Steele.

“There’s been a thousand articles today about it,” Ponder said on Friday. “You can’t really worry about it. You’ve got to try to keep it private, but that’s just part of the industry, part of the job. I don’t know. Comes with the territory.”

Steele is the blond bombshell that ESPN has hoisted to replace the ever-popular Erin Andrews who left the mothership earlier this year for Fox.

Once upon a time it was taboo for reporters (sideline or booth) or cheerleaders to date the players. ESPN has yet to respond to the news of the relationship.

Alex Karras, who was a beast of a NFL defensive tackle before becoming the lovable dad on the hit TV show Webster, died Wednesday at the age of 77.

The rugged player, who anchored the Detroit Lions‘ defense and then made a successful transition to an acting career, with a stint along the way as a commentator on “Monday Night Football,” died Wednesday. He was 77.

Karras had recently suffered kidney failure and been diagnosed with dementia. The Lions also said he had suffered from heart disease and, for the last two years, stomach cancer. He died at home in Los Angeles surrounded by family members, said Craig Mitnick, Karras’ attorney.

He was part of current lawsuit against the NFL claiming that the league didn’t do enough to educate or warn about concussions.  Karras believed his dementia came from hits he sustained during his rugged career.

He was perhaps more well known nationally as the father of the title character (Emmanuel Lewis) on Webster.  Karras also gained initial fame in Hollywood for punching out a horse in the comedic film Blazing Saddles.

Karras wife on Webster was his wife in real life, Susan Clark.

NFL star Justin Blackmom was arrested for aggravated DUI after he was pulled over around 3 a.m. in Stillwater, Oklahoma on Sunday morning (June 3).

The Jacksonville Jaguars’ wide receiver smelled of alcohol, so he was asked to take a breathalyzer test. Justin politely agreed and blew a .24, which is three times the legal limit of .08.

Justin, who was already released on $1,000 bond, is set to appear in court today (Monday, June 4).

The Denver Broncos have traded star quarterback Tim Tebow to the New York Jets according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The Jets traded just a 4th round pick to acquire the ‘Chosen One.’

The move comes after Tebow turned the Broncos season around last year with last minute heroics to win several games to get the Broncos into the NFL Playoffs where they beat the favorited Pittsburgh Steelers in the first round before losing to the New England Patriots.

Tebow’s days in Denver were numbered once free agent QB Peyton Manning signed with the team on Tuesday.

Former Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning, has ended his two week free agency tour, by surprising a strong legion of Tennessee Titans fans by selecting to play for John Elway and the Denver Broncos.

Many in the Volunteer state believed that Manning would return to the state of his college glory days to play for Bud Adams and the Titans.

Manning played his college football at the University of Tennessee where he could never beat the Florida Gators. The year after Manning left for the NFL the Vols won the National Championship behind less heralded QB Tee Martin.

But alas the homecoming won’t be happening. Perhaps Peyton feared every game would have a playoff atmosphere and would lead to countless choke jobs as his reputation has been in the NFL Playoffs.

Elway might be thrilled but Tim Tebow will not be. Look for the Broncos to trade Tebow to either the Jacksonville Jaguars or Miami Dolphins.

Tebow will finally be free of Elway and head coach John Fox’s evil regime.  All praise and glory to God.

Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay officially announced they are releasing legendary quarterback Peyton Manning during a press conference on Wednesday (March 7). The 35 year-old was obviously very emotional as he was forced to say goodbye to Colts fans who supported him following him a series of surgeries over the past years.

Peyton said, “Thank you very much from the bottom of my heart, I truly have enjoyed being your quarterback.” Irsay also emotionally announced that the retirement of Manning’s #18 jersey, saying, “The number 18 jersey will never be worn again by a Colt on the field.”

Irsay added, “We’re here very much as well to honor all the incredible memories and incredible things that he’s done for the franchise … for the city … for the state … I can’t thank [Peyton] enough.” As for Peyton, he still wants to continue playing.

The team was forced to release Peyton, who will become a free agent, before they had to pay him a $28 million bonus as part of his $90 million contract. “Nothing lasts forever,” Peyton said. “Times change and that’s the reality of playing in the NFL.”

Brazilian model Gisele Bundchen apparently violated some sort of code of brotherhood when she basically dissed her husband Tom Brady’s teammates, more especifically the receivers, as she was trying to defend his honor after a tough Super Bowl defeat for the New England Patriots on Sunday (February 5).

Albeit Gisele was provoked, she should have been less vocal about it because Tom will eventually have to return to work and face the guys she was just very angry at for allegedly dropping her husband’s balls [must watch video HERE].

Tom’s teammates felt betrayed by his wife’s behavior since they believe in the motto “win as a team, lose as a team.” A source said, “It’s like knocking someone when they are down.” And that is not fair. So where’s Gisele’s fairplay?

The heat and defeat of battle can bring out the best and worst of professional athletes…and their family members or spouses.

That seems to be the case when a camera unfortunately filmed Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bundchen defending her husband Tom Brady after a overzealous New York Giants fan yelled at her about Eli Manning being better than Tom and the New England Patriots after the Giants beat the Patriots in Super Bowl 46.

But what she said (see video above) will make her even more hated and despised outside of New England:

“You (have) to catch the ball when you’re supposed to catch the ball. My husband cannot (bleeping) throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time. I can’t believe they dropped the ball so many times.”

Poor New England receivers. I’m sure Tom is going to love having to do damage control with his teammates after his wive’s comments.

Hopefully, everyone will quickly remember this was shortly after a bitterly close fought game. Emotions sometimes get the best of us.

I’ve never been the biggest Gisele fan but the time I met her she was extremely nice to my wife who was pregnant at the time. We were in the security line at LAX and she talked to us and asked my wife several questions about her pregnancy, etc. This was several years ago in her pre-Tom days.

She shouldn’t have said what she said, especially in light of the leaked email she sent her friends before the Super Bowl asking for them to pray for Tommy’s success in the Super Bowl.

The photos were reportedly taken by Michael himself while posing in front of the bathroom mirror before a game. Michael’s rep did not completely deny the existence of such photographs, but chose to completely ignore this woman’s claims instead.

“The only thing Mike has on his mind is his date with the Chicago Bears this evening,” his rep Rick French tells RadarOnline. “The rest of what this woman is claiming isn’t worth dignifying.”
