Nikki Sixx Inks Bandmate Mick Mars on Thigh

Nikki Sixx’s Tattoo Ink of Mick Mars

Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx surprised band mate Mick Mars by having girlfriend Kat Von D tattoo the mysterious Crue guitarist on his left leg along with the numbers 1313 according to Blabbermouth.

Sixx wrote on his blog on Sunday (October 19): “Katherine tattooed a killer portrait of Mick Mars on my leg and we got to surprise him with it at the Los Angeles Crüe Fest show. It was a pretty emotional rollercoaster ride to share the whole experience with Katherine, from the beginning of the idea to the end when we finally show Mick.”

Sixx and tattoo artist Kat Von D have been dating for several months.  Sixx divorced his ex-wife Donna D’Errico last year.

Nikki released The Heroin Diaries last year to much fanfare.  The book is taken from his diaries he wrote while strung out on heroin back in the mid 80’s.

As a teenage boy I thought Nikki had the coolest ink on the planet. His sleeved arms still rank up there as some of the best tat work ever.  Luckily I outgrew my stage of wanting to sleeve myself as well.

Donna D’Errico Glad to Dump Nikki Sixx

Nikki Sixx and Donna D’Errico Divorce Final

Playmate Donna D’Errico is so eager to rid her life of Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx that she is waiving her right to any sort of financial support. Nikki must have been a bad boy again.

Donna D’Errico and Nikki Sixx were in court today to settle financial matters in their divorce and one thing is clear: Donna just wants to be done with her ex.

Despite the fact that the judge expressed concern for Donna, both parties waved their rights to financial support.

Will the next Playmate step right up!

Nikki Sixx and ‘The Heroin Diaries’

The Heroin Diaries by Nikki Sixx

Rockers don’t get much cooler than Nikki Sixx of Motley Crue. Nikki plays bass and is the principle song writer over the past twenty-five years (let that sink in) for the Crue. The first two cassette singles I ever owned were ‘Dr. Feelgood’ and ‘Kickstart My Heart’. I then went on to plaster my room full of Motley and Nikki Sixx posters and bought ever bit of their music I could find.

As kids, Jon Montoya (guitarist of Saliva) and I, created album covers and a band that never quite got off the ground. I was to play bass, Montoya lead guitar, etc. Nikki was my headbanging hero and I couldn’t wait to play bass and be sleeved with as many tattoos as he had. However, soon after, I made the AAU basketball team in junior high and ball practice took all of the time that was required for piano lessons (a pre-requisite by mom before she would pay for a bass and bass lessons). Nikki has actually written a couple of songs for Saliva.

Nikki has just released his book, ‘The Heroin Diaries’, which is based on a diary Nikki kept for a year in the mid 80’s, while he was battling an intense heroin addiction. During this time he overdosed twice and was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital before being revived and given a second chance at life. The book is very raw, personal and a must read for any addict, former addict, or friend or family member of a loved one battling addiction.

Nikki Sixx on Capital Hill (video)

The video above is a speech by Nikki Sixx, of Motley Crue, that he gave on Capital Hill before members of Congress last week (who would have thunk that in the 80’s or 90’s). He talks about his recovery from addiction and the need for additional funding for the rehabilitation of addicts.
