Miss Delaware Teen USA Melissa King stepped down from her prestigious title on Tuesday after a sex tape that allegedly features the reigning teen surfaced.

In the beginning of the sex tape, which was released on a porn website on Monday, the girl that appears to be 18-year-old King refers to herself as a “Miss Teen.” When asked why she’s decided to do the video, she responds saying ”I thought it would be fun and I needed the money.”

“It is an honor to be part of the Miss Universe organization and [it] can provide huge life-changing opportunities for young women,” Keylee Sanders, a former Miss Teen USA and co-executive director of the state pageant, said in a statement on the resignation. ”If the footage is of Miss King, I feel this is a perfect example for all teens to learn that these types of actions have consequences.”

Despite resigning, King is denying any involvement in the video.

As a former pageant girl myself, I’ve gotta say that this is always disappointing. It’s made very clear in contracts before you even enter the pageant that if you have been involved in any type of scandalous behavior of this sort not to enter to begin with. It’s really that simple. You wanna make a sex tape? Don’t be a role model for other teenagers. Make your money, but stay out of the pageant circuit.

Olivia said, “I do think that would be fair, but I could understand how people could be apprehensive to take that road. There are so many people who have a need to change for a happier life. I do accept that because I believe it’s a free country.”

Smart answer. The beauty queen isn’t exactly propagandizing for transgender models to rule the world, but pointing out the obvious instead. It is a free country! Anyhow, Olivia will represent the country at the Miss Universe pageant in December.

Audrey Bolte responded: “I think it depends on the movie. I think there are some movies that depict women in a very positive role, and then some movies that put them in a little bit more of negative role. But by the end of the movie, they show that woman power that I know we all have. Such as movie Pretty Woman. We had a wonderful, beautiful woman, Julia Roberts, and she was having a rough time, but, you know what, she came out on top and she didn’t let anybody stand in her path.”

Seriously? Or this girl hasn’t even seen the movie or she is obviously stupid. How does a prostitute falling in love with a rich guy who loves her back and ends up saving her is an example of someone’s ability to turn their life around and let no one stop them from achieving their goals? Blonde moment!

“Pretty Woman” is a prostitutes’ fairytale. Miss Ohio’s vision of a positive portrayal of women in movies is a major embarrassment for people of her home state. Job well done, Miss Audrey Bolte!

Former Miss Arizona Teen USA (2010), Tori Vance, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after being pulled over for making an illegal U-turn in Los Angeles, California over the weekend.

The 18 year-old, who was behind the wheel of a Mini Cooper, showed signs of intoxication when approached by the police officer who asked her to step out and take a field sobriety test.

Tori’s blood alcohol level was just above the legal limit in the state (.08), so the beauty queen was promptly taken into custody and booked for misdemeanor DUI.

Miss Wisconsin, Laura Kaeppeler, was crowned Miss America Saturday night, walking away with a shiny new crown and a $50,000 scholarship.

“In that moment I didn’t know what to think,” the 23-year-old told reporters. “It was all kind of a blur.”

Twenty-three-year-old Kaeppeler, who performed an operatic vocal for talent, modeled a white bikini for the swimsuit portion of the pageant and a black lace and knit gown for the evening gown competition.

Former Miss Teen Arkansas USA, Megan Burgess was arrested for public intoxication at the University Of Arkansas dorm, where she is currently studying, last weekend (mug shot above).

The beauty queen was found by the cops sitting in the snow outside after her resident assistant made the call. Megan was totally embarrassed, ashamed and “mortified” for the reckless behavior not accepted for a Miss Teen USA.

However, the Miss USA Organization is defending Megan, saying she “is a sweet girl who exemplifies the values of a Miss Teen title holder and is mortified about this. She even called over to us and said she was ‘sorry if I brought any shame on my state.”

Miss Mexico Jimena Navarrette was crowned the 2010 Miss Universe during the Miss Universe pageant in Las Vegas on Monday (August 23). The 22 year-old promised to honorably represent and promote her home country of Mexico during her year long reign.

Angie Meyer, a former pageant employee, told FOX News: “It’s alarming that this has been turned into a Playboy-esque masquerade by implementing topless photos as part of the pageant process, they’re putting applicants in an extremely compromising position.”

“When you bring nudity into the equation, the pageant no longer becomes about the entire package of brains and beauty. Rather, the focus shifts to body image. The notion that ‘beauty’ embodies absolute physical perfection is a frightening slippery slope, and quite dangerous for young women around the world to adhere to,” she added.

Lark-Marie Anton, a Miss Universe representative, defends the sexy pictures, saying, “The contestants who compete at Miss Universe are diverse. They represent more than 82 countries around the globe. Many of their cultures embrace nudity… We feel the images captured are fashionable and cutting edge!”

Miss Trinidad & Tobago LaToya Woods and Miss USA Rima Fakih both defended the photo shoot as artistic, but they had different approaches. While LaToya posed full frontal with her nipples covered with pasties, the Muslim-American decided to stay true to her beliefs and only exposed her nude back.
