Former American Idol judge Paula Adbul released a statement to address the official news that talk show host Ellen DeGeneres would replace her as the new fourth judge in the famous talent show.

Paula said, “AMERICAN IDOL is a fantastic show that offers an invaluable platform to young talent. Ellen DeGeneres is wildly funny and talented in her own right. I wish her and the show only the best of luck.”
Paula later tweeted, “I think Ellen will b a gr8 judge on Idol. She is wildly funny, talented and I wish her the best of luck!”

Paula seems to be taking the news pretty well, who would have thought!?! I was totally waiting for a catfight. Ellen was clearly worried about Paula’s reaction when interviewed by Ryan Seacrest, saying,  “I hope Paula is okay with it. I don’t want anybody to think I took Paula’s job away. I feel like she was gone and then everybody was looking for somebody else, then I stepped in.”

Former American Idol judge Paula Abdul just reportedly lost another job due to her ridiculous demands, which allegedly included a private jet. Paula needs a reality check! If she keeps on this downward spiral, the only job she will get is on “Celebrity Rehab”.

Sexy fierce Kristen Johnston (yep, the same that posed nude for PETA) is set to replace Paula in the recurring role of Helen, who Mode’s newest office temp and Amanda’s elder doppelganger on the hit TV show “Ugly Betty”.

“I’ve always considered myself a poor man’s Paula Abdul,” Johnston says with a laugh. She describes her Betty character as “Amanda in 10 years. She’s still trying to get into the right clubs, wearing tight dresses… tragic. I think (Helen) sees herself as Samantha from ‘Sex and the City.’ Except, of course, she’s a temp.”

The 41 year-old actress, who is better known for her role as insanely funny Sally Solomon in “3rd Rock from the Sun”, looks better than ever and is just perfect for the part in the comedy-drama TV series.

According to manager, David Sonenberg, Paula Abdul is not happy and is ready to not return for the ninth season of the popular talent show, “American Idol”. David says Paula is hurt and angry with a holdup on her contract negotiations.

“I find it under these circumstances particularly unusual; I think unnecessarily hurtful,” Paula’s manager said. “I find it kind of unconscionable and certainly rude and disrespectful that they haven’t stepped up and said what they want to do.”

Apparently while the show’s producers are too busy making multi-million dollar deals with host Ryan Seacrest and judge Simon Cowell, Paula hasn’t yet received a proposal for a new contract therefore she is most likely not going back on ‘Idol’.

Paula turned to Twitter to address the subject and to thank fans for all the support during this difficult time in her career.

”I’m actually moved 2 tears upon reading the enormous amount of tweets showing me your kindness, love, & undying support. God bless all of you!,” she Tweeted. “If it weren’t for you, this specific time and situation would feel a whole lot worse!”

I can’t believe they are letting Paula go… please take Kara DioGuardi! Keep Abdul!! However, this could be a strategy to get Paula a better deal. Auditions for season nine of American Idol will start next month and the show will return in January, 2010.

American Idol judge Paula Abdul opens up about the addiction to pain killers that she has been fighting for the past twelve years in a new interview for Ladies’ Home Journal Magazine.

Last Thanksgiving, Paula finally decided to check herself into La Costa Resort and Spa, in Carlsbad, California, in order to overcome this addiction. Paula happily announced she is clean and feeling better than ever.

Paula says: “I could have killed myself. Withdrawal—it’s the worst thing. I was freezing cold, then sweating hot, then chattering and in so much pain, it was excruciating. But at my very core, I did not like existing the way I had been.”

Paula admits to have become addicted to pain meds after an unlucky series of accidents, which include a car crash and plane crash that left her partially paralyzed, requiring 15 spinal surgeries. Now Paula turns to her friends and family, yoga and spiritual workshops to make her feel better.

I think the only person even remotely impressed with Paula Abdul’s career at this point is Paula Abdul. And in her latest quirky quote, she has credited herself for the success of pop/R&B powerhouses Rihanna and Beyonce.

“My videos stand the test of time. They are like the almanac for every performer,” Abdul said in a recent interview. “Even Rihanna has come up to me and said ‘I hope you don’t mind.’ And Beyonce. You can see the influence of what I’ve done. It’s really fun to see that I’ve left a mark. It was my idea to create an animated character. It takes a lot of focus, a lot time, and a lot of money.”

Riiiiiiight, Paula. We know- you’re a devoted, rich genius. Keep on smokin’ that good stuff, sister!

Since the tragic death of Paula Goodspeed near her Los Angeles home last week, Paula Abdul claims she is being haunted by the former American Idol contestant. It seems like Paula is so scared she even hired some “healers” to cleanse her house, according to the New York Post.

Page Six claims that the fan’s death has left Paula “freaked out,” quoting a source who says the star hired a healer to cleanse the house of ghosts. According the “friend,” Paula won’t go back into her house.

“[Paula Goodspeed] was a deranged stalker who sent her death threats. Paula instructed guards to keep Goodspeed away from her at all costs,” the source tells the paper. “She refuses to stay at home because she fears that the spirit of Goodspeed is haunting her house. She feels like this is the absolute worst omen, a really bad curse . . . Paula is suffering. It is well known that she is emotionally fragile.”

Is Paula on crack again?? Ok, I understand some people are more sensitive and perceptive to the world of spirits (if that even exists) but this just sounds like Paula is too desperate for some attention lately. Besides if Paula is thinking about leaving the house, I’m sure that coming out saying it is haunted isn’t good publicity for the sale.

A rep for Abdul denies the story:

“There’s no validity to this. She’s been home since the incident happened. There’s no issue with spirits. Paula is shocked and saddened by what transpired. Her heart and prayers go out to the Goodspeed family.”

Was hiring a fourth judge on American Idol in fact just a ploy to one day replace Paula Abdul? Rumors are circulating that she might be on her way out to door to explore other projects.

Abdul is reportedly set to “transition” out of involvement with the hit show to concentrate on other TV projects, OK! magazine reported.

“She knows that every season could be her last,” a source told OK!. “Now she’s got a new secret venture that she’s really excited about.”

Abdul had recently starred in “Hey Paula,” a reality show that followed the singer in her daily life. The show aired on Bravo but was cancelled after one season due to poor ratings.

To be honest, I’ve never really understood why Paula was there in the first place. I hear the new judge, Kara DioGuardi,  is much more experienced and talented, so I would welcome her replacement.

Deranged Paula Abul fanantic and ‘American Idol’ season five contestant Paula Goodspeed was found dead in her car outside of Abdul’s Los Angeles home late last night.  Goodspeed apparently committed suicide according to reports.

A car with a dead woman inside found parked outside Paula Abdul’s house in Los Angeles on Tuesday night is registered to Paula Goodspeed, a former American Idol contestant and self-described “really big fan” of Abdul.

Police have not confirmed the identity of the woman – an apparent suicide victim – but suggested she was an infatuated fan of Abdul.

The woman’s car featured a license plate “ABL LV” and had a photo of Abdul hanging from the rear view mirror, according to Fox News video taken at the scene. A DMV check of the license showed that the car was registered to Goodspeed, 30.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of Goodspeed.  She obviously had a mental issue that needed treatment and medication.  Mental illness is a serious issue that usually can be treated with the proper treatment.

Paula Abdul broke her nose over the weekend when she tripped over her dog Tulip. She had been trying to avoid her little dog but it was tough cause she was seeing three of them, when in fact there was just one.

Abdul broke her nose over the weekend, when she tripped while trying to avoid stepping on her dog — a large, threatening, fear-instilling chihuahua named Tulip. (We kid, of course.)

Though she wasn’t hospitalized, “EXTRA” says Abdul did suffer the nose-mashing fate just days before the live finale of “Idol.” There’s no indication that she’ll be missing the big event, or that she’ll have to wear any protective headgear — to avoid Cowell’s no doubt stinging barbs.
