Actress Rosario Dawson and filmmaker Danny Boyle have split.

“From the outside it looks like there’s a lot of dissimilarities, but we actually have a lot in common. We’re really similar people. He’s a very kind man,” Dawson told reporters during an interview in October 2012. ”It was just one of those things where we were going to just go our separate ways had someone not said something.”

The two, who began dating after production on their upcoming film Trance wrapped, recently reunited during a press junket, and the tension was reportedly palpable. ”Rosario and Danny didn’t interact during interviews,” a source said. “It was pretty obvious they’re no longer a couple.” The insider added: ”He was talking to a group of people when she arrived and it was awkward — like a cold greeting, no hug, and they got through it as quickly as possible.”

Dawson previously dated French DJ French DJ Mathieu Schreyer from 2008 to 2011.

On growing up in a vegan household:

“My mom was practicing vegan and raw diets years ago, so I understood eating healthy at a young age. We even belonged to the local co-op. I mean, we had Spam too, because we were poor and had to take whatever we could get, but we stopped eating white bread when I was 6.”

On her love for Pilates:

“Leslie Bibb, my costar in Zookeeper, got me into it. After just a couple of weeks, I noticed a physical change, especially in my posture. Now I stand differently, I sit differently. I don’t love working out, but I can honestly say I miss Pilates and how it makes my body feel. And there’s nothing like it when those endorphins kick in.”

On what she learned from the recent passing of her grandmother:

“Since Mima’s passing, I have this sense of urgency and all of this energy to get things done. I need to stay furiously passionate for the rest of my life. I don’t want my tombstone to read: ‘She played it safe.’”

Two exotic beauties hit the carpet of the 2011 Film Independent Spirit Awards held at Santa Monica Beach on Saturday (February 26). Actresses Zoe Saldana and Rosario Dawson both chose to spice it up a bit by playing with animal prints (more pictures below).

And the end result is fresh, fun and casual chic. Those are not outfits meant for an Oscar-type of night, but super cute for a less informal venue. Although I do not love those dresses, we’ve got to recognize anything would look incredible when you have an incredible figure like these two.

Actress Rosario Dawson, who once wanted to become a marine biologist, confessed her mother Celeste had some odd discipline methods. For example to get her daughter’s attention or punish her, mommy would lick her.

Rosario says: My mom licked me – that was her punishment. If I was a little uppity or if I didn’t listen or if she wanted to get my attention, she’d lick the side of my face or under my armpit. My mom’s a six-foot-tall amazon and she’d say, ‘You came out of my vagina and I own every part of you,’ and she’d lick me like I was her wee pup and she was a lioness. It was humiliating and really intense. Very primal. It’s not spanking, but it definitely works.

As weird and creative as this may sound I do not make this stuff up! I can’t see how a lick is considered a form of punishment but when it comes to your mother it can be pretty embarrassing, especially if performed in public.

Just imagine the kind of psychological trauma it can cause a young girl. I would definitely never see a lick the same way again. But it would have been a great idea to keep me on a leash through my wild years… thank God my mom isn’t as resourceful as Rosario’s.

Supermodel Petra Nemcova, actresses Rosario Dawson and Anne Hathaway are opening up to PEOPLE magazine about the controversy Jennifer Love Hewitt started with her MySpace blog in response to photographs taken of Hewitt in a black bikini while vacationing in Hawaii.

• Model Petra Nemcova: “There are different angles that everybody, even if you’re in great shape, can look bad in a photograph. And printing these images is definitely influencing people’s minds – the stars themselves, but also the people who are reading and looking at the images, the teenagers. It’s definitely good that she spoke out.”

• Rosario Dawson: “They’ll make a whole story about it if someone gains 5 lbs. … It think there is a huge obsession with size-zero jeans, and it’s just really scary. I don’t really know where that comes from. We’re not really in the Twiggy era anymore. It makes me really nervous, because I don’t know how in the world we’re supposed to be that thin unless we’re totally starving and drugging up.”

• Anne Hathaway: “[As an actress], most of the year, your body is your own. But to be ridiculed for it is upsetting. But to also have to defend it or explain it or rejoice in it or put it down, or to be expected to have a public opinion about it … I don’t understand when that happened. I don’t think women should only be defined by their bodies and their weight. It’s a cycle we’ve been in for some time, and I don’t really like it.”

Petra you didn’t really go to bat for JLH. You sort of skirted the issue and said everyone can take a bad photo. Rosario and Anne, way to go to bat for your homegirl.  Personally I don’t think the photos were her best but they weren’t horrible either.  In direct sunlight the camera can be a mean beast.

Love, sex, blood and gore dominated the Grindhouse movie set. The blood and gore was intentional and written into the script. The love and sex occurred on set after and in between filming between Rose McGowan and co-director Robert Rodriguez.

According to reports in Page Six , Rodriguez, who has been married for 16 years and has five children, was involved in an affair with McGowan, the former fiancee of Marilyn Manson  that became “the worst-kept secret on the set.” Even worse, Rodriguez’s wife was on-set for the entire duration, as she served as co-producer on ‘Grindhouse.’

“They were going off to his trailer, having meals together,” Page Six’s source says. “Rose thought some of the crew were treating her differently, and the attitude was, like, well what do you expect when you’re [bleeping] the director?”

When Rodriguez’s wife found out about the fling, “there was an eruption of emotions – an emotional volcano,” a source said.

That is sort of hot. McGowan, since divorcing the devil Marilyn Manson, has morphed into a new age Angelina Jolie. Since Jolie has transformed herself into an anorexic orphanage curator then it should work out find.  McGowan and Jolie look a lot alike and both have been married to rather interesting men.  Rodriguez fell into her trap and sadly it is costing him his family. He is enjoying the Rose now but once she moves on he will be sad about losing someone he was married to for so long and the mother of his five children.
