The interesting item is part of the late “Baron” Joseph de Bicske Dobronyi’s estate, whose final wish was to auction it after his death. You can get Queen Elizabeth’s silk vintage panties with royal monogram for the starting price of only $3,999.

Since British auction house Hanson Auctioneers didn’t have the courage to give the item the publicity it deserves, fearing the royal family’s reaction, they decided to take the auction to eBay.

The royal undergarment is currently up to $4,049 with two bids. You have 9 more days until May 22, 2012 to snatch the intimate piece of royal history.

Prince William and Kate Middleton kicked off the London 2012 Olympic celebrations in the most glamorous way possible.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, who serve as ambassadors for the British Olympic delegation and the British Paralympics squad, walked the red carpet for the gala at The Royal Albert Hall, hosted by the British Olympic Association.

Kate Middleton, who celebrates her one year anniversary with Prince William today, spent time away from the elegant lifestyle of a royal volunteering with scouts in Anglesey earlier this week.

Middleton, 30, was a Brownie with her sister Pippa as a child, and she’s kept her promise to do charity work with the scouts group.

“She’s used her experience as a sailor to help them with knotting,” a local scouting source told reporters. “She’s been involved in managing games and joining in art and crafts activities. … We also pitched tents indoors in one of the sessions, and she remembered pitching tents.”

“She’s clearly getting a lot out of it,” the source added. “Everybody’s taken to her well. I don’t know anybody who would not take to her well. She’s a very nice personality. She’s showing that even very busy people can find some time in their diaries to help out in a volunteering capacity.”

Is there anything better than a princess hanging out with scouts? Don’t think so.

Prince Harry is on the move! The 27-year-old has moved from Clarence House into a temporary one bedroom apartment at the Kensington Palace compound where newlyweds Prince William and Kate Middleton currently live.

Harry will relocate once the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge move to their long term home next year.

“This is not a huge space, but it is only natural now he’s in his 20s that he would want to be independent and have his own place, and move out of the place he has been since he was a child,” a Palace source told reporters.

“The princes are very close, and Harry is also very close to the duchess,” the source added. “They have all been thinking about this for a while, and when the opportunity came up they grabbed it.”

For her first solo military engagement in Aldershot, England, located 37 miles south of London, the Duchess of Cambridge donned an emerald green coat and brown cap, along with a bloom of shamrocks pinned to her lapel and a clover pin that once belonged to The Queen Mother, Prince William‘s great-grandmother who passed away in 2002.

The always classy Kate Middleton made a special visit to the Royal School of Needlework in Hampton Court Palace on the outskirts of London Tuesday to thank the people who worked on her top secret wedding gown.

“She wanted to personally thank them for their work on the wedding dress. She also wanted to see their work and learn more about what they do there,” said a spokesperson for the Duchess of Cambridge.

The embroiderers, who worked closely with designer Sarah Burton to create her veil, bodice and shoes, used new needles every three hours. They also had to wash their hands every 30 minutes to keep the threads and lace “pristine.”

The Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton‘s younger sister Pippa Middleton is set to ski in Sweden’s 56-mile, cross-country race, the Vasaloppet, on March 4, with her brother, James Middleton.

The race, which was first held in 1992, will benefit the children’s charity Magic Breakfast. Last year, over 16,000 people took part.
