The Truth About What Happened to Russell Brand’s Mystery Woman at Pace

Some of you might have seen this story in the Daily Mail earlier today titled: Revolving door dater Russell Brand leaves dinner date with a mystery brunette.. who’s not keen to be seen.
However, we received an email from a sweet woman, who along with two of her friends, helped this mysterious woman ‘Mira‘ escape from the paparazzi, who had trapped her and wouldn’t let her go after Russell Brand had abandoned her when he fled to his car with his bodyguards.
Here is what ‘KCH’ told us last night and emailed over to us this morning:
“I’m not sure what the current standards are for paparazzi stalking but what I (and 5 of my friends) witnessed last night was not a reflection of what was reported in the UK’s Daily Mail and EntertainmentWise.com. What seemed to be a harmless story about Russell Brand’s dinner out with yet another female was in fact, upsetting enough for a dinner party of guests across the street (well used to both sightings of celebrities and the paparazzi) to go out of the house and rescue a girl who was obviously being stalked and harassed in the dark, on her own- and was completely surrounded by flashing cameras attached to men who made it impossible for her to get to her car, go back to the restaurant or focus enough to be able to dial a phone number for assistance. The questions were obnoxious and incessant. It was like watching show on the discovery channel where an animal is surrounded by a pack of wolves, and they are closing in about to eat their prey. Except of course, they can shout questions and flash bulbs the entire time.
Lori and I decided to go offer her help. I’ll tell you that it is much different to be photographed in a red carpet setting than it is on a dark street. Just one or two flashes can be blinding, especially with no background lighting. And there were not one or two, but hundreds. When there are photographers surrounding you and they are all flashing their cameras at you, it is dangerous. When we were trying to cross the street safely, waiting for the signal for the crosswalk, it was so overwhelming we had to cross before the light changed (which is dangerous on such a busy road). One photographer had the “kindness” to say “be careful” as he backed up, continuing to flash away as we crossed with several other cameras on every side.
The photo of the “mystery woman” and her “companions” were actually concerned neighbors (complete strangers to both Russell Brand and the “Mystery Woman”). Neighbors that felt as though she was in danger, and that something bad was about to happen to her on Laurel Canyon Boulevard in an attempt to get away from them. The hand holding hers in the photo was one of our hands pulling her up the stairs to another friend’s house, another to help shield her with his jacket after getting her across Laurel Canyon and another guiding her up the stairs since she couldn’t see where she was going with blubs flashing in her face, in the dark, on steep stairs in high heeled shoes.
Keith was the one who met us as we crossed the street offering his jacket as a shield for over her head, which she was grateful for, and he had to call out two of the photographers who were trying to take shots up her dress as we climbed the stairs. She was not used to this sort of thing- it was obvious by her uncontrollable shaking. She was being traumatized by a group of men, alone in the dark with no one to help her. We have no idea what happened to her “friend” Russell who took off in his car with what looked like a bodyguard or two. We weren’t impressed by this, but then it is difficult to think straight when such a circus is going on.
In short, a woman on the street in Los Angeles, alone in the dark was more comfortable being led away by two complete strangers, while being met by a third who offered a coat for her to be put over her head and trusted us all enough to lead her into yet another stranger’s home without being able to see where she was going while repeating “I’m not famous” over and over. Thankfully it was a group of people who wanted to help, and not harm her. All I know is that more than two hours after the incident, when I closed my eyes I could see 9 blinding white spots behind my eyes. I take back all judgmental thoughts I’ve had over the years of celebrities like Brittany Spears who endured much for fleeing photographers with her toddler son in her lap, or the repeated incidents of car accidents blamed on celebrities that should “understand the price of fame”.
