Modern Family star Sofia Vergara has traded in her traditional brunette locks for a new blonde summer do’.

“Blond ambitions!! Gracias to the amazing Kelly Klain I’m ready for summer!” Vergara posted on Twitter along with a photo of her new hair, which is actually closer to her natural color.

Vergara previously told reporters she keeps her blonde hair dyed brunette because of stereotypes.  “It didn’t match the Hollywood stereotype for a Latina woman.”

Modern Family star Sofia Vergara had an embarrassing wardrobe malfunction (thanks, Justin Timberlake) during the 64th Primtime Emmy Awards on Sunday night but the actress owned up to it by posting a photo of it on Twitter (see below).

The zipper on the 40-year old actresses dress broke 20 minutes before Modern Family won for Best Comedy – leaving Sofia’s thong-glad butt cheeks exposed.

Some want to praise her for owning up to it and not hiding from what happened, but with Sofia’s backside I think nearly every woman would have post a photo for the world to see.

Modern Family star Sofia Vergara has confirmed that she is engaged to her longtime beau Nick Loeb.

The 40-year-old actress told reporters that she hasn’t started planning her wedding just yet. “I haven’t started planning anything because everything has been very recent,” she said. “I am kind of, you know, working a lot — I just started the Modern Family season — so I don’t know yet [when I will get married]. No plans.”

Vergara went on to say that she hasn’t ruled out having a baby with her new groom. “It’s something that maybe … one day I’ll do again. I wouldn’t mind . . .I mean, I think I can still do it. But you know, when you want to do something like that, you want to do it right, at the right moment, so I am taking it easy, so maybe when I have a little less work.”

This will be the second marriage for Vergara, who has a 20-year-old son, Manolo, with her first husband, Joe Gonzales.

The couple split in May, after dating for about two years, but worked things out and were reportedly back together by June. Now, reports are surfacing that the Modern Family actress and Loeb are tying the knot.

Vergara, who has remained tight-lipped, nonchalantly confirmed the news when she appeared in a photo on her friend Fernando Fiore‘s Twitter account wearing a rather large diamond ring.

This will be Vergara’s second marriage. She was married once as a teenager to Joe Gonzalez, with whom she has a 20-year-old son named Manolo.

Actresses Sofia Vergara and Eliza Dushku walked the red carpet of the 2011 CNN Heroes: An All-Star Tribute held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California on Sunday (December 11)- more pictures below.

The “Modern Family” star opted to wear a figure-hugging black lace cocktail dress by Dolce&Gabbana that accentuated her incredible curves. The black dress was a pretty safe choice, but Sofia spiced it up with a pair of leopard print heels.

On the other hand, Eliza failed to impress in an unflattering and season inappropriate floor-length printed maxi-dress. The girl’s got an incredible body, but it was completely lost in that wild shapeless dress.

In August, Vergara spoke to USA Today about flaunting her curves. ”In my 20s, I would have on a miniskirt and the boobs,” she said. “Now, if I’m doing something short, I try to cover up [on top]. I’m almost 40, so I had to evolve — it’s natural. I love tight dresses, but I don’t do tight and short. I do tight and long.”
