Former Hills stars Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt are the newest celebrities to join the U.K’s Celebrity Big Brother.

The husband-and-wife duo, who have been married for four years, will be competing as a “single entity” against 10 other housemates.

In the midst of a divorce from wife Heidi Montag, Spencer Pratt has issued a very public apology to her– which is obviously not at all for publicity in his favor.

The Speidi divorce will be final as of Valentine’s Day 2011.

“Divorce can be a trying, draining, and emotionally devastating experience for all involved,”

“Despite these hardships, most individuals manage to conduct themselves with dignity and maturity. I did not – I failed spectacularly.”

The ever-sinister Spencer told PEOPLE:

“Over the years, her [Heidi's] love, support, and friendship were always given, but never properly cherished. I let her down,”

“She never deserved the pain and anguish I put her through, and although I don’t expect it, I hope in time she’ll be able to forgive me.”

Spencer was supposedly set to release sex tapes of his ex Heidi, worth $5 million, but she quickly pulled the plug on that.

“I horribly embarrassed the one person that meant the world to me. For my outrageous and infantile behavior, I offer Heidi my most sincere apologies.”

Spencer also unveiled his plans for an “intense soul-searching.” I feel like that may take awhile…

Of Heidi, Spencer says:

“Even though our relationship has changed, I will always count her among my best friends.”

Don’t worry, I’m sure she totally shares that sentiment.

Playboy Playmate, Karissa Shannon, who admitted to having a lesbian sex tape with former “The Hills” star Heidi Montag, is now accusing Heidi’s soon-to-be ex-husband Spencer Pratt of stealing some private X-rated videos from her home and is threatening to sue him.

The sex tape in question reportedly does not involve Heidi. Spencer is allegedly in possession of footage that was “taken from [Karissa]” and “contains private materials” featuring the Playmate and boyfriend Sam Jones III.

Spencer (and Heidi) never really considered the possibility of selling those sex tapes. However, they used their existence as a major publicity stunt and they may do it again in the future. They will only sell the tapes if they are really desperate. I’ll give them six to eight months.
